  • I get $218.40 (there's $12 postage which doesnt get the 20% off) I didnt take away the cashrewards discount though.

  • I like my J.A. Henckles knives (cheap/clearance from Target via OzBargain), however these ones appear to have cheap plastic type handles?

Yes there is a big difference between the proper handle and these molded plastic handles - in look and feel at least.

Definitely not cheap (i.e. low quality) handles. We've had this set for ~10 years, and the handles are as still as good as new. I actually prefer them to the wooden handles for grip/comfort. It's a 3/4 tang knife.

Just a note though. In the world of "quality" knives these are just average. Most German knives are made from fairly soft steel and need regular sharpening.I also don't like the bolsters, but that's just a personal thing (issues with sharpening). Still, a massive step up from the K-Mart style block sets and excellent value for money.

Four Star are a great knife set. Moulder plastic handles, but great blade and balance. I've had mine for 8 years and I reckon I'll have them for many, many years to come. Still like new.

    • Ditto! I love my 4 stars

  • Not bad - I prefer Wusthof knives though

Can confirm, these are quality knives. Cut straight through girlfriends finger. No need for stitches, just threw the tip in the bin.

  • Good value for money
