price might be reflected on their ebay store which would reduce by a further 20%. hopefully.

        Starts Wednesday 7th Sept.

        • ahh! Will wait and see ! cheers

        • @Gomo:

would be awesome if they put the 5w-30 on sale too

        • @CVonC: Yep! thats what I need for my holden cruze :)

        • @Gomo:

          same with my corolla.

wonder where nocure got this notification though.. i haven't seen an email or a new catalog yet.

        • +1

@CVonC: Could have pre-released junk mail prints.. thats how many get a hold of it :P

          @Gomo:

nulon semi synthetic 5w-30 is going to be $19.95 hmm

        • +1

@CVonC: I've used this in my 1.4turbo cruze with no issues however been told I should only use fully synthetic..

      • Just purchased 2 of these from ebay store. click and collect was not available as it was all out of stock from all stores, so I just paid the delivery $9 (cheaper than buying it direct from the supercheapauto website where standard delivery is $12.95).
Applied the ebay coupon CSUN20 for 20% off and cashbackrewards 1.25%.
Total cost came to be $56.92 excl cashbackrewards. With cashbackrewards it will be $56.21
Then with the cashback promotion ($20 per bottle) it will be $16.92
So total cost for 1 is $8.46 delivered to the door if I do end up getting the cashbacks and actually use the gift cards. :)

        • +1

          Up vote worthy?

  • I'm a bit tight lately so I just use the cheapest 10W 30 on my 2009 Corolla, I don't see any difference in performance or mileage with 5W 30 oils or the "fuel saver" oils so figure it's hardly worth spending so much on these overpriced oils. YeAH oIls aint Oils, they may give me longer lasting engines, but my cars only last me about 7 years then I change them over.

Hey Valvoline is offering $20 cashback on this oil which would make the final cost $9.95!

    http://valvolinepromotions.com.au/hottunercashback/

However you need a special code from motormag and the only code I did find is apparently for $10 cashback:

As part of their 150-year celebrations, Valvoline are offering fans of MOTOR Hot Tuner Challenge $10 back when they purchase a 5L package of their SynPower engine oil – the oil trusted by some of Australia’s best tuners, as used by them at the 2016 Valvoline MOTOR Hot Tuner Challenge.
To redeem, simply use the exclusive MOTOR code, ‘HOTTUNER16’, at www.valvolinepromotions.com.au.

    http://www.motormag.com.au/events/hot-tuner/

But the official Terms and Conditions from Valvoline definitely say $20 and "an exclusive code that is available from www.motormag.com.au"

    http://valvolinepromotions.com.au/hottunercashback/terms-con…

  • I thought it has expired

"Buy any 5 litre bottle of Valvoline SynPower engine oil from a participating store between Friday 1st July, 2016 and Wednesday 31st August, 2016, and receive $10 Cash Back!"

      $20 cashback started 1/9/16

      • +1

Yea, saw that, just someone mentioning about $10.

  • Need the code for the $20 cashback offer.. the $10 expired offer was HOTTUNER16.

    • Are you sure that's not the code? Both of the promo pages are referring to the Hot Tuner event.

The expired $10 cashback didn't need any code and had nothing to do with the Hot Tuner event.

      • Agree that they both refer to the Hot Tuner event but both offers are for different periods and different cash back amounts. It does makes me wonder if they are using another code for the offer commencing 1st sep?
Will only know when someone checks the latest edition of the Motor magazine I suppose?
The expired $10 c/b did need a code and was associated with the Hot Tuner event according to this site>>
"As part of their 150-year celebrations, Valvoline are offering fans of MOTOR Hot Tuner Challenge $10 back when they purchase a 5L package of their SynPower engine oil – the oil trusted by some of Australia’s best tuners, as used by them at the 2016 Valvoline MOTOR Hot Tuner Challenge.

        • +1

when someone checks the latest edition of the Motor magazine

As I mentioned above, the T&Cs from Valvoline state that it's available at "motormag.com.au". It does not say it's available in the print version.

The expired $10 c/b did need a code and was associated with the Hot Tuner

No it didn't. See here for the details of the $10 one:

          http://valvolinepromotions.com.au/Synpowercashback/
          http://valvolinepromotions.com.au/Synpowercashback/terms-con…

In the meantime I emailed motormag to ask if it's an error.

        • @inherentchoice:
I just saw where there was two ways that $10 offer was promoted… one was just a direct valvoline offer via your links and the other was linked to the Hot Tuner event and that one required the provided code.
If there is a code on the motormag site for this ""$20"" offer I did not see it and a link to it would be appreciated by all?

        • +1

@xywolap: Well it's a valvoline promo so their T&Cs should be the primary source of information, and therefore I suspect the motormag write-up which mentions $10 is an error. Hopefully they reply to my email to clarify.

        • @inherentchoice: Hope they clear it up :-)
Could be some unhappy campers if they get their $20 claim rejected for using the wrong code.
Those cash back processers sweat on being able to knock back claims.

        • +2

@xywolap: Alright got an email from motormag and the marketing agency and they said they will fix the error. It is $20 and therefore HOTTUNER16 is the correct code. :)

        • +1

@inherentchoice:Good. So they did confirm that the code for the $20 off offer is definitely HOTTUNER16?

        • +2

@xywolap: Yes and they will update the text on the motor website.

  • +1

Link edited. MST version not on sale.

  • +1

Has anyone tried the $20-back code yet?

    • +2

I bought from the store. Attached a copy of the receipt. Tried entering a jumble of letters as a code and it was rejected. Tried the Hottuner16 and it was accepted. I haven't received any notifications, but it went through all good.

      • Good to know. Thanks tunzafun001.

  • price has not dropped on eBay yet, still says $59.95.

    • …and it mightn't

We cannot guarantee that the catalogue price will be present on eBay as eBay is a completely different platform that our online store and in store uses. If you are requesting click & collect you are able to use that service via our website.

As eBay is a separate store from the rest, it allows us to have products cheaper from time to time, to encourage online buying or sales that are online only. Just as the stores will have products cheaper from time to time to encourage more foot traffic in the stores.

This is ozbargain mate anything is possible :) here you go guys! http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/Valvoline-Synpower-Engine-Oil-5W-40…

        • +2

That's mad. Four bottles for around $16 after cash back!

        • @Dalton: website says Max 2 but eBay is different I guess :p

PROTIP Use Ebay Code : CSUN20 to save even more! $5.99 taken off !

        • @Gomo: My eyes are failing me: I can't see that limit. It's not mentioned in the catalogue, either. I bought four bottles Click and Collect.

        • @Gomo: Those aren't Valvoline though…

        • +1

          @Dalton:
OH MY! my EYES ARE BROKEN :P my bad mate!

        • @Gomo: Perhaps we could start a little shop selling 5 litre bottles of 5W-40 oil for $20? Bargain!

        • @Dalton: Haha! Give it a few hours and we will see how many people love my pro-tip!

I just tried using it on some of the oil for my holden cruze 5-30 but it doesnt want to take the voucher!

I'll just have to settle for the normal 50% off then :(

        • Only allowed me to get one bottle :-(

        • @and: Think they've set it up as a restriction to 1 per store.. I just tried to place one more order and it said the seller doesn't have any to supply. however once I changed stores it allowed me, just means I have to now visit two different stores to pick this up! only did it this way because it allowed me to apply coupon CSUN20 …

Just tried once more on another store and ebay told me can't use this code.. so looks like the jig is ALREADY UP!

          http://imgur.com/a/qNFpI

Photo of my order showing the discount applied

Here is a photo of the product in HIGH RES http://synpower.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Synpower_m…

        • How did you find that? Can you do it for the nulon 5w-30?

        • @CVonC: It's the current Ebay Promo 20% code

Unfortunately does not work on the Nulon oil.. however $20 is still pretty good!

        • @Gomo:
do you still get receipt for claiming cashback if you buy from sca ebay store using click and collect?

        • +1

          @Gomo:

Unfortunately does not work on the Nulon oil.. however $20 is still pretty good!

          it does!

now just to decide whether 5w-30 semi for $16 vs 5w-40 full for $24 (which is potentially $4 if cashback is applicable) on my 2005 corolla…..

        • @028:

Yeah I've gotten a tax invoice when I've cnc'd from SCA ebay.

        • @CVonC:
          great!
picked up 3 from local store this morning, might get 2 more at this price.

        • @028:
ok,tried to place order for 3 and 2 bottles, both don't work for 2 local stores for pick up,says not in stock, but tried place order for 1 bottle in the same store,it works.

        • @CVonC:
No luck here for me.. This code can't be applied to some of your items.
shows when using CSUN20 Promo Code

        • @Gomo:

weird.. it works in my cart for a quantity of 1

        • @028: Yeah I had the same.. had to do separate purchases

        • @CVonC: Not sure.. but it wont accept it! :( To late anyway because I already purchased it

        • @CVonC:
the code works for any quantity to get the 20% off discounted price for my case, just can't place the order, says not in stock, but in stock of I change to 1 bottle.

        • @Gomo:
at this price(if cash back works) its always good to have some extra.Im switching from castrol edge 5w 30 for the price.

        • +1

          @028:
          love ozbargain!
just tried a different store, the code works again for 1 bottle.$3.94/bottle after $20 cashback for fully synthetic!

  • +3

Thanks OP. Not sure why this deal didn't make the home page.

    • +4

$3.94 for 5 litres of fully synthetic engine oil has got to be a record. That's almost 95% off!

  • has anyone got the code

    • +2

      Its HOTTUNER16

I just put my two claims in! wish me luck :D

  • +1

Do you get any confirmation email after making a claim?
I made several claims last night and haven't received any type of notification as yet.

    • +2

I didn't get a response after filling my claim, but it says in the Ts&Cs that they will only contact you if there's a problem. Not very reassuring, I know, but they sent me the cashback for the last promotion, so it should be okay.

      • Let's hope so. It would very easy for the promoter to say they didn't receive your claim or claims with no confirmation given.
It would be good if people who do receive their claims report back on here so we can keep track, I will.

        • +1

          Save a Screen dump.

        • Years ago i read where someone who claimed to have worked for some cash back processing business said that on the very popular promotions a lot of the claims would go missing. They worked on the principle that most people would not remember it … and they were right, only a few complained.
This is one reason why they just dont give the discount at the POS.
Do a screen dump of your application and the next screen that says submitted.

        • @xywolap:
That's not got to hear. I thought they worked on the principle that people were too slack, unorganised or busy to put the claim in.

        • @whitey:
Correct. This is why they dont offer the discount at the POS… I saw one figure of only 10% of sales resulted in a claim for the cash back being lodged.
Easy & cheap publicity, but it is the buyers fault mostly when you think about it.
It would be too complicated for the elderly and some others for a start.

  • +3

Got a reply from Steve who asked if I accidently requested it twice told him not a dupe they are separate.

    His exact reply
All good mate, have a good weekend bro!

    :)

    • Should we know who Steve is? Is he from Supercheap Auto or the Valvoline promotion mob?
If Steve is from the promoters wouldn't he know it wasn't a dupe by your scanned receipts??
I put in 6 claims for the $10 offer and 1 claim for the $20 offer and haven't heard anything from them yet.

      • His from the promotions team probably only heard from him for clarification

  • 25% off this weekend storewide for club+ members which means $2.46 after cashback! If you can find any stock in store that is.

    • +2

Discount will be off the RRP, so more than the eBay deal.

    • Store told me 25 % off this oil, got home and checked receipt $29.95. eBay is still the cheapest!

  • +1

Anyone get the discount card in the post yet?

    • +1

I've put in 11 claims and haven't heard a thing.

      • Fingers crossed…

    • Claimants will only be notified if there is an issue with their submission. Please allow up to four (4) weeks for delivery of eftpos gift cards to the nominated address as provided by the claimant on the online claim form.

      • The suspense continues!

        • At least some got their oil. All I have is a tracking number that says despatched.

        • @Steptoe: I picked mine up guessing you got it shipped

  • +3

My first 6 gift cards arrived today for the $10 promotion, so the $20 ones shouldn't be too far behind hopefully.

  • Don't forget to submit you rebates this weekend.

Looks like only JPG file type accepted.

  • Anyone else still not received their rebate?
Submitted mine 9sep and still nothing for 1 only.
Contacted the card issuer and they claim that Valvoline has not forwarded my claim details.

  • +1

Not yet. I have emailed Valvoline directly today.

    • +1

Let us know what you found out. I'm 0/3 from the 10th Sep.

      • +1

        I'm none from 5 . Has anyone got a $20 card yet??

  • +4

    Update…
Had a message from Valvoline today to say that there has been a minor admin problem with the processing of the cash back cards.
""We have received your entry for a single $20 gift card, and I can assure you it will be fulfilled. Unfortunately, we have had an issue with the invoicing of these cards which has caused these unnecessary delays. I’ve spoken with our gift card supplier, and all the cards will be dispatched on the following Tuesday. You can expect yours after the week beginning Monday 31st."
So they are on their way… just have to wait a while.

    • +1

Thanks for the update. I was thinking the gift card people could be keeping them for themselves and just saying they were sending them out :) .

      • LOL… yeah.. Dodgy things have happened with cash back offers i'm sure.
This one seems a genuine hic up… I have spoken with Valvoline and the issuing agent a few times.
        Give it two more weeks..

        • 2 months on…Received 3 out of 4 claims…

Rang Valvoline… they will "get back to me" :(

        • @tunzafun001:
Keep onto them… there are some genuine operators there at Valvoline. The co that handles their card distribution seemed to just fob you off though.

    • Hi mate, do you have a contact number / email address for the Valvoline promotion? I submitted 4 claims, only received 3 cards.

      • Sent via pm.

  • Got the exact same reply.

  • Lodged 9th Sept, nothing yet, I emailed steve and will see what he comes back with
