I expect the biggest problem with this one is that it won't actually heat up much at all. I had a similarly cheap one from KMart which couldn't really toast the bread so much as steam it.

Teflon and unknown plastics - would definitely NOT want to eat any food prepared on something like this. $3.99 is cheap.

My understanding was a sandwich press was more suitable.
I don't think it's good for bacon due to the lack of even surface.
At $4 I am expecting a lot of jaffle related house fires.
I've had a few of these of various brands.
Eventually the non-stick coating will peel off and the cheese will stick to it, making it hard to remove.
It's hard to clean these. You can't just soak it in water, you have to use a wet wipe. But would you use detergent? Some of that will go into your next sandwich since you can't rinse it off. Water alone won't clean the grease from your margerine.
Heating up teflon or similar to high temperatures isn't a good thing. Lots of gadgets do this unfortunately.
