yup! and it comes with a FREE time bomb, may burn your house down with the battery that may explode anytime when charging.. ;)

      • +10

        Fire sale

      • Nah not until rev2 comes out after they recall the current ones

      • +1

All recalled, no one is selling them.

  • Awaiting comments about price-jacking and complaints submitted to ACCC

    • +1

What about comments regarding it is unconfirmed and already has x amount of votes?

  • +4

They gone jack them prices up harder than I jack my johnson

    • +2

Need an unconfirmed up vote lolll

Glad i just pulled the trigger on a GTX 1070. Cos I know I would've waited and then been disappointed :|

    • What you end up paying? Im chasing one.

      • +1

$541 from @lyl's Gigabyte GTX 1070 Windforce OC deal.

Not the fastest factory overclock but neither is it the slowest. AFAIK it is the cheapest GTX 1070 though.

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/260717

        • Cheaper I can see on eBay would still be $591.20, you're still better off.

  • +1

    Tempted to buy an A6000!

  • +1

Lets wait for them to javk up the prices and then let the sale start

    • yup, especially the Dick.

      • Some people loved the dick

        • +1

hey gotta tell you the truth, i love the new owner of the Dick, Kogan..recently returned a G4 for warranty (around 20days left of warranty) and they gave me a voucher for the value of what i bought the G4 for nearly a year ago.. due to the G4 is beyond repair, no sign of life.

        • +1

@0031nek: Never hurts to hear a good Kogan story.

        • +3

@0031nek: To be fair, Dick/Kogan should have sent you a full refund, not store voucher..

        • +3

@Vladdo: well, i don't think any store/business in australia would give a full refund as warranty..and yea, based on the conversation with their customer service, they initially gave me a selection of phones to be replaced, G5 and moto X play. I ended up asked them how much $ to add if i opt for a 6P, they actually happily to replace with a 6P without additional $. Then a second glance at my warranty that got around 20days left he suggested me a $689 voucher to be spent on a brand new 6P from their Kogan website so that i can have a fresh 1 yr warranty on the 6P, instead of the remaining 20days warranty left from the faulty G4, even if a new different phone as a replacement. he said warranty is just a "carry over". Couldn't be happier for the warranty.. (note: the warranty) only, and about they jacking up prices before every ebay sale, they are still aholes. lol

        • +3

@0031nek: If it's a major failure of a product and within the warranty period, Kogan/Dick don't have any right to determine what you get..

          https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/consumer-rights-guarantees…

I bought a Philips 28" 4k monitor and had it for about 24 months before deciding to send it back to them because it refused to wake from sleep. The repair company said that it needed a firmware update so send it back. About 2 weeks later, they called me to say that it had suffered a significant fault and cannot be repaired and that they'll send me a full refund. About a week went by and the money showed up in my bank account, to which I went out and got the 40" version for a little bit more.

        • @Vladdo: i see, no wonder they were happy to replace me with a 6P as i told them i wanted 6P, because it was what i wanted. It is better than choosing the replacement phone for me in the end may result i read something from ACCC and giving them the trouble. On the other hand it is fair to just send me a full refund instead of Kogan voucher.

          @0031nek:

I'm NOT too impressed w/ Ruslan Kogan, eg,
after hearing (on AM radio) that:

-Samsung Galaxy S7(?)'s No Longer Selling in N Am,
after S7 Batteries were "Exploding" dur'g charging

          AND, the next day:

-got eMail: Kogan's Dick Smith was "dumping" S7's
          at low prices, in AU.

'dunno if any of the would-be buyers were told
          of the Battery risk…?

        • +1

@IVI: nope, never heard of S7 exploding, only recently it is all about Note 7, so in your case, S7 and S7 edge having the same issue?

  • Not another one.

  • +9

I think it is premature to upvote this deal until we actually see what the starting prices are when the coupon is active.

  • +3

    Why the same stores everytime?

    • +1

Because their standard prices are set at 20% more than what they want you to pay.

  • -3

    Any bargains with SP4?

  • +13

Someone needs to write a script to pull all items and their current prices today. Then when the sale starts, pull the prices again. Run a comparison and name and shame the sites who actually changed prices.

Could whip up a quick jquery table or something to display it nicely.

    • +17

      Are you that someone?? 🤓

        • +18

Just motivated enough to tell people that someone does "need" to do it?

    • +1

an idea is only as great as the implementation of it.

    • I could probably do that quite easily in R, but I hate to think how long it'd take to run through it all.

  • +1

So with the obligatory sneaky Price increases, it's more like 5% off? Meh.

    • +1

Depends on the store and the product, normally between 5-20% off.

      • Myer Last sale 15% off click and collect made no adjustment to miele cat and dog vacuum. It's been $509 for a few months now.. Post sale during sale and pre sale same pricing.. Just one example..

  • I noticed Toys R Us pulled all their prams off this week, wonder if this is why. We shall see.

They were still up during last ebay sale, even keeping toys r us discounts

  • wow again

  • +2

These sales are very frequent now. I haven't even been paid since the last sale :/ My wallet can't keep up.

  • They need to nerf eBay

  • This will go well with my $20 voucher I just got today :D

    • +3

You can't stack gift cards with coupon codes.

  • When does this unofficial sale start?

    • +1

      nobody knows…

  • +5

    Constantly repeated discounts?

    I call this

    The Dominos Effect (pizza chain)

  • Hopefully there are some good tablet deals cos the Nexus 10 has just about had it

  • if i use the link to search, all the result gonna be 20% off?

    • probably

  • thanks for sharing.
    when will start?

    • Nobody knows…

  • Just when I needed a wireless keyboard, thx!
    Please be soon ;_;

    • +1

$2,932.14 on the ebay store and $2,799 on their web site. Something smells fishy to me.

      • yes but with the potential 20% off it will be $2346 IF they don't change the price and if there is no max discount

        • True, and there's probably no law against having a different price on the ebay store to the web store, but I still think it's dodgy.

        • +1

@wombat1955: I agree with you, i was just trying to find the best price for this camera now that the wife has finally agreed to buy it for "us" for father's day :P

        • +2

@wombat1955: Worth noting on eBay the retailers have to pay a fee to eBay of around 9% (Might be discounted for large stores?) where they don't have the same fee on their own web store.

        • +1

          @wombat1955:

My company lists items for more on ebay than our own store. This is because want to offer our customers the best prices and if we sold for the same price on ebay we'd lose money on a lot of our items due to the 9.9% fees we have to pay. There's nothing dodgy about it at all. If you are big you can justify buying a $500/m store subscription but for a company like kogan that runs on very low profit margins it still wouldn't be viable to have the same price on eBay as their own web store.

        • @chiefbodge: Yep.. understand now. ;)

  • They never stop do they?

  • Maybe it starts after the 5th, when the current kitchen one ends?

  • +1

Have the price hikes have already started? Dick Smith ebay are selling the S7 Edge for $902.51 whereas their web site is selling them for $849.

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Samsung-Galaxy-S7-Edge-32GB-Black…

    https://www.dicksmith.com.au/da/buy/samsung-galaxy-s7-edge-3…

Or is the Dick Smith ebay store always more expensive?

    • Which model is that? Is it the dual sim?

    • +1

Seems about right … standard ebay fees are about 10% right? so you would expect ebay prices are higher than their direct website?

I always put higher selling prices on ebay compared to my direct website.

      • +2

Organisations do not pay the same fees for ebay/PayPal use as plebs like us.

    • Same item is always more expensive on eBay store when compared to their own website.

      That's just the norm.

    • +1

and Dick Smith won't confirm the model to determine whether it has Exynos or Snapdragon processor

      • +1

I was under the impression that the dual sim model is Exynos, but will stand corrected if I'm wrong.

        • oh why would you think it's Exynos for dual sim model? I thought the Snapdragon version has dual sim too.

        • @wiltonson: It was only an assumption, but on further investigation, it looks like the G9350 has the Snapdragon 820. However, someone on Whirlpool bought one from Kogan and it was Exynos, so it's a good chance that that's what they are offering.

          http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2529661

        • [@wombat1955]I see it's just assumption only. I am after the normal S7, doesn't care whether it has dual sim, just want with the Exynos chip. Still unsure if I should take my chance.

    • Shipping is included in the eBay price but extra via the website, which helps explain some of the difference, but not all.

  • +2

Didn't buy anything last two deals as prices were cheaper in normal stores. Hopefully a bargain or two this time round.

  • I don't get why stores need to jack prices. It's eBay that puts out the 20% .. Is it just greed ? Don't stores know they will sell more if the prices are not inflated just before the sale?

    • +3

      Simply greed

    • +1

      Because they can.

If it's still an overall slight saving, you can either buy it at the non-ebay price because the saving isn't good enough for you, or buy it cheaper.

  • +2

Does anyone know whether Dick Smith has included GST in the price of ebay items above $1000?

    Quote from the DS website
    https://www.dicksmith.com.au/da/help/import-duties-and-gst/
"Orders containing over $1,000 worth of imported products may be subject to GST and duties.
The Australian Government collects these GST and Customs charges, meaning that you may be required to pay an additional amount once your goods arrive in Australia.
If this is the case for your order, a compulsory checkbox will appear on the checkout screen to ensure that you are aware of this. As seen below: Import Duties Disclaimer
When your order arrives in Australia, the courier will provide you with information on how to pay these charges if they are applicable."

    • +4

      That's the note.

    • +3

nope, never heard of S7 exploding, only recently it is all about Note 7, so in your case, S7 and S7 edge having the same issue?

A good deal for this lens considering local price is about $1500.
Grabbed one last time from Kogan for a little less during another 20℅ off sale.

Mine came in a white box. It looks like they were pulled out of a kit and now been sold separately. Lens was brand new and functions accordingly.
