I've been pretty happy with my Western Digital Elements - is this more reliable?
I bought and realised it's not 2.5 inch Ext. HDD.
I cancelled the order straight away. Not sure if they've taken the money or not.Pretty sure they only take it when it ships.
Well, that's good then.
I grabbed 5 TB seagate from Officework long time ago. Cheaper than this one i think.
Can the raw drive be used? Understand many are crippled.
Not so much crippled but the reliability is usually a bit questionable. At a guess it's still this drive inside - https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R33XKY83Q62HB6/re… - since people Toshiba hasn't changed model numbers.
Apparently this drive in particular is quite fast but again, not sure on the reliability. You kill the warranty if you pull it from the casing though.
Appears as US $170 here, hit refresh and it flicks b/ween $179 and back, gonski?
All these third party seller deals are highly over priced.
Seagate is $5 more for those who might prefer it https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00TKFEEBW/ref=ox_sc_sfl_t…
