I am very aware that this deal has been posted, but it is now back on.

Not a great quality tv. But its cheap, and i'm a poor 15yr old. Ill change it for you.

EBay will get you a decent second hand TV for $100

          Second hand

Yeah, not a trusty source for T.V.s mate.

        • 15 yr olds with 40" FHD tvs

          far out man

define what is 'bad' about it? It probably has bad sound and such but a lot of these issues can be worked around.

        • where can you find a decent second hand tv for $100 on Ebay?

with TVs, I find it hard to justify not to buy a brand new one because it comes with warranty.

        • @fchis: i bought my parents a 2011 42" Panasonic Widescreen Viera TV for $115 on ebay last december. (ok, slightly more than $100 but it has been fine).

        • -1

That's fair enough but for noobs and people who dont want the hassle you may as well buy new since the TVs are pretty much throw away if they are bad.

I would also maybe ask about extended warranty.

          Soniqs have terrible reliability.

        • @tonyjzx:

          Soniqs have terrible reliability

Then why risk $299 on this then?

        • @stuhtb:

I personally wouldnt as I hate JB hifi but then I'm not a 15yo kid. I dont care what happens to him…

        • @tonyjzx: lol i cant believe that a 15 year old even cares about bargains in general!!!

          @chingy213:
          Are you kidding me mate?
I go on OzBargain like 3+ times a day. Nothing is better than a good deal and more bang for your buck.

        • @tonyjzx:
extended warranty is the biggest rip-off there is. Ever heard of Consumer law?

  • IF you just want to watch TV, media and play console games on it and you're 15, then it is fine. The picture is OK and you can make it fantastic by following one of the color tweaking guides on the net. The built in media player in Soniq TV's is astounding as it will play literally anything in any format. Biggest let down will be the sound. The built in speakers are terrible and sound awful. However for this price you can possibly live with it and later add a soundbar.

    • Yeah, I'm deciding on getting an Xbox Elite through JB Hi-Fi, getting a tv though them would be good as well. I can also get 7.5% off because of where I work. So pretty decent deal for me.

  • JB surcharges with Amex.

A work around is to buy JB gift cards from Woolies?

Egift Woolies allowed JB gift cards to be purchared… (add 5%+ off)

Then apply ur staff discount. And pay via jb physical giftcard from woolies.

    Ur 15yo…. no amex. Hrrrm

Some1 may find this idea interesting.

Can any1 confirm Woolies egift can be used to buy physical gift cards still?

  • i saw this in store, so I thought I'd come to OzBargain to see what people thought. The display's quality seemed better than usual. I only want to play console games on it. I have speakers so sound is not an issue, but how much more would I have to pay to get better visuals?

    • Same quality seems decent cant decide to buy it or not. plan to just watch anime or hook my pc up to it to play single player games, wont bother with games like overwatch dont think its ms delay will be good haha.

      • oh nvm ms is 8 only problem now is the refresh rate does anybody know?

  • Just got one today highly recommend picture quality is pretty damn good BUT YOU HAVE TO TURN DOWN THE GOD DAMMN SHARPNESS the default modes look awful just go user mode down the sharpness to 20-30 well this for me since i have hooked it up to my computer loving it so far games full mode when doing aspec ratio removes pretty much all input lag BUT it cuts off slight bits of your edges from all direction lets say 1.5cm per side

    • I got one too and thought the picture quality is really good when playing PlayStation 3 but I turned all the picture settings to around 30-40. Does take a few seconds to turn on but I'm ok with that I think that's normal for modern tvs.

      • Sad thing about mine is that it has one dead pixel to the left ( not really noticeable ) but me being me the slightest things bother me, next to the dead pixel there is some weird really light and small smudge looking like thing tried wiping it but doesn't seem to come off. did you have any dead pixels with your unit?

        • No I din't notice any. That sucks. :(

  • I have had this tv for a year. It stopped working within 20 days after warranty expiry. Managed to convince Soniq and it was kind enough to consider it for repairs. But after keeping the TV for 2 months with them, they realised its not worth repairing so gave me my money back instead. So the guys are helpful in some cases but TVs are still crap.
