Stores That Don't Ship Power Banks to Oz

So it's been confirmed here that EverBuying no longer ship Power Banks to Oz.

Aukey were shipping them until this was noted.

I just thought it's worth checking who does/doesn't ship them here now so no one gets caught up ordering from the wrong store. Obviously it's their postal companies saying they won't freight them.

Comments

  • The companies are very iffy about it.

Normally China Post, SingPost and Hong Kong Post Unregistered will refuse to ship them. While SingPost Registered will sometimes ship them.

    • I was waiting for you to chime in :)

Does seem like they've suddenly taken a strong stance against it

      • I can't help myself ;)

Even Chinese customs have stepped up their game. Many people are reporting on Chinese social media that sometimes they can't take their large capacity power banks through customs.

      • Turns out not even postNL are shipping power banks anymore. Good for Aussie resellers as the ban doesn't impact large orders.

  • Meh I always order lithium-ions most companies are okay with it. Usually australia post will ship them. Isn't everbuy owned by the same company that owns Gearbest?

  • Vinsic on Aliexpress doesn't have any cheap options

  • shipping lithium batteries are certainly the "flavor of the month"

Have similiar experiences with offshore online purchases while Amazon have never allowed any items that contain this element to be sold to Australia too.

But my latest experience - which was a RMA from HP replacing my notebook battery was shipped from their Port Melb warehouse using Toll.

Given I missed the first delivery, i elected to take up their option to leave it with a local newsagency for pickup.

My request was initially accepted via the automated website but raised a few alarms with both Toll and HP the following day advising of their new "policy" that batteries are not allowed to be even left at a local "depot" for self collection.

One can only wonder if Auspost decides to adopt a similiar policy while I recognize that Im made to sign the "dangerous goods declaration" everytime I mail a parcel.
