Yes, this is a repeat deal, but it is a good one and it is still active. I just wish that my local shops had an oovie.

why do you need to swipe your cc? why not a debit account? i hope i won't be finding hidden charges/membership fees etc in future!You can use a debit visa card or debit mastercard at the kiosks. They need you to swipe a card in case you lose the dvd or are late returning it. EFTPOS transactions are "Point Of Sale" and can not be used in this way.
oovie has been going for a while now, and they are very upfront about the fees they charge. No need to be overly paranoid.
Yeah I have been using the free code on wednesday and using my CC. No problems thus far after a couple of months. One of the features I like is that you can return the DVD to any of the other locations… which i what i get stung with sometimes when I can't get the dvd back to the video shop on time.
also if rack up $30 of late fees you get to just keep the dvd.
@timmye: Which is fantastic when you consider the amount of people who get taken to court by Blockbuster for 1 or 2 lost/late DVDs!

I love oovie, have been renting on wednesdays since a few months ago, sometime I rent on weekends and other days too. $3 is worth it, the dvd is $25 on jb hi fi, so watching that $3 with my girlfriend, brother, housemate, or mom is so damn cheap. One day I was about to return the dvd at 6:55, but when I put the disc in, the kiosk says "kiosk is full, please return the dvd somewhere else" so I called up oovie, and a human picked up my phone, I explained, and he gave me 1 day extension in just 2 minutes! Later after I had dinner, I came back and the kiosk and return the dvd. No charge whatsoever.
The right thing would be to grant you an automatic extension, plus a free rental for tomorrow when you have to come back AGAIN.
Seems like a pretty good deal. Would be good to start a thread in the forums about the codes each week.
