is it safe to travel to Bangkok yet?

I'd suggest not wearing any red shirts =P

  • Apparently Bangkok and surrounding provinces are still under a state of emergency, and the Aus Government have currently listed Thailand as a "Reconsider your need to travel" threat level. http://www.smartraveller.gov.au/zw-cgi/view/Advice/Thailand.

That said, if I'm still awake at that time I'll log on and get some free tickets.

  • Not really helpful unless you're already in SE Asia. As far as i know You can't fly to bangkok from Australia with airasia so its just a free flight from the surrounding countries

    • it's still a good deal though

  • Does "free" mean no taxes and other charges?

    • Airasia until now has never have FREE tax sale, the only completely free fare and free airport tax I have ever seen is with Tiger Airways, back then I got some $1 ticket, and some ticket is even only 20c US (HCM-SIN) with no airport tax :)

  • Where is the actual source?
I can't find anything on any AirAsia sites.

Interesting in finding out about taxes and other charges as well… Their last sale offer wasn't that good!

    • the source is from Airasia Facebook fan page :)

  • Well at least someone will be able to take advantage of all those empty seats that will be generated by travel fears.

I dont know. Seems kind of irresponsible sending dozens of people to Bangkok at this particular moment in time.
Plus I've already got tickets to Afghanistan.

        That comment was insensitive.

I'm going to launch a torpedo at you for that.

Uh, I mean, uh, you're gonna get hit by a torpedo, which, uh, you made up, and… uh, then you're going to sink and stuff because you're a warmonger. How could you?!?

  • Wish they would fly out of Sydney

heading to thailand in july, gonna sneak in a 3 day trip to cambodia

    cost $43AUD return

    • you should not fly out from Cambodia if possible, the ticket you book doesn't include airport tax which is $25 USD payable at the airport. You can just get bus ticket from Thailand to Cambodia which is only $8USD to Siem Reap and around $12USD to Phnompenh.

You can fly to Cambodia and take bus back to Thailand to avoid paying $25USD airport tax :)
