  • Your link took me straight to the one and only review…

    Complicated
The last printer I brought was fast. quick and reliable. This printer is unnecessarily complicated. Very frustrating. Want to throw it out the window and buy a new one. Like my last one!

Is yours different to the $49 one here ???

    • Free Vic pickup, but I'm seeing $29 delivery to WA

I fear in the 660 hours / 27.5 days it'll take me, they may have sold out…!

    • +1

We did check off against that, seems it only offers free local delivery. We've included delivery free AUS wide.

      • +2

        True…

Any better reviews though? The one in your link does not fill me with confidence.

        • That review wasn't a machine that was sold by us. There's probably a high chance they got a dud. Even if it was free and not working I still would have followed it up.

You're not going to buy it anyway, you're only being difficult.

You're not going to buy it anyway

          That's entirely up to me.

I noticed you didn't upvote this deal, so you agree it's not a bargain since it can be bought cheaper elsewhere…

    • +1

Yeah it's different in price. One includes shipping while other does not

Free pickup locations in each state…

        • Free pickup locations in each state…

Not everyone values their time at zero, the running costs of their car at zero and don't mind paying for parking. How is the pickup free if you factor in the real costs involved?

        • @Maverick-au:

Not everyone values their time at zero

Lots of people can pick up for free too… I often do if I'm going to be in the vicinity. Not everyone wants to make a trip to the Post Office to pickup their parcel…

Cworld offer free pickup in each state according to their website.

        • @jv:

Cworld offer free pickup in each state according to their website.

No they don't, once again JV is full of it. They only offer pickup from Melbourne on this printer but they will offer free delivery to metro areas but needs to be discussed with them before purchasing.

    • Is yours different to the $49 one here ???

Why are your comparing a delivered price (which is actually 10% cheaper if you buy something else) and a product for pickup from limited locations which still has a cost associated with getting there.

It seems JV is just being difficult again.

      • Why are your comparing a delivered price

        I'm comparing the product.

I can get this one for $64, or the one in my link for $49.

Just because you like to pay more for a product doesn't mean others do…

      • a product for pickup from limited locations which still has a cost associated with getting there.

A cost for you maybe, but not everyone…

        • A cost for you maybe, but not everyone…

A cost for most people which would exceed the few extra dollars that the delivered printer costs. Not everyone is unemployed and uses a tricycle to get around.

        • @Maverick-au:

A cost for most people which would exceed the few extra dollars that the delivered printer costs

Not if they are going to be in the vicinity anyway…

        • @jv:

Not if they are going to be in the vicinity anyway…

The vast majority of people are not going to be passing a pickup location and will have to travel a reasonable distance which will take a reasonable amount of time and add a reasonable cost to their running costs of their mode of transport.

Assuming they buy something else on ebay the cost of this drops to under $58 DELIVERED.

        • @Maverick-au:

The vast majority of people are not going to be passing a pickup location

          you made that up…

        • @jv:

          you made that up…

Could you be any more obtuse?

They have one store listed that is only open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm in Doveton Victoria and you claim that my statement that the "vast majority of people are not going to be passing this location" is incorrect.

          http://www.cworld.com.au/store_locations.php

        • @Maverick-au:

          in Doveton Victoria

They have pickup locations in each state.

        • @jv:

They have pickup locations in each state.

Where are the locations as they are not listed and where is the data that shows the majority of Australians travel past these during their business hours? Another fail from the ever argumentative JV who likes to attack every deal he can.

        • @Maverick-au:

          Where are the locations

"Collection in Melbourne is always from our Port Melbourne office. Collection in Sydney, Perth or Brisbane will be from our of our 3rd party warehouses. "

        • @jv:

"Collection in Melbourne is always from our Port Melbourne office. Collection in Sydney, Perth or Brisbane will be from our of our 3rd party warehouses. "

JV being obtuse once more, you said pickup was available in all states. Now pickup MAY be available in four states from one location. Your argument is becoming more and more ridiculous.

        • @Maverick-au:

Collection is available in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Brisbane so many people are able to buy this for $49 and save money

        • @jv:

Collection is available in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Brisbane so many people are able to buy this for $49 and save money

JV being obtuse once again. Collection MAY be available from Sydney, Perth and Brisbane from a third party warehouse but for the vast majority of people the cost to collect will far exceed the few extra dollars of having it delivered ($7.60 to $15 extra).

I see you learned a new word today.

          That's acute

  • Do anyone know cost of cartridge of this printer? I bought this printer original toner finished in a month hardly 800 pages out of toner. I checked to buy toner and it was $120 plus for toner cartridge I will not recommend buying anyone this to anyone it is like a scam. I just checked on computer world its toner costs $169 do you see any reason to buy it.

    • 8 cents per page is pretty good for home base printers……. and then you buy generic toner or, as this post suggests, throw it away and get another one.

      • Can see generic toners advertised for around $80

        • Give a link so people can see what it costs to them. there are 2 types of toner one gives less then 800 pages the other one claims high yield one.

        • @ozehunter:

Here you go mate, bucket load of options. Checked a few links too and they are the 2,600 page toner

          https://www.google.com.au/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=…

        • @ozehunter:

Give a link so people can see what it costs to them. there are 2 types of toner one gives less then 800 pages the other one claims high yield one.

There are NOT two toner types available for purchase. One is a starter toner which is supplied with the printer, the other is the one available for purchase. Pretty much all printers are sold with starter toners or inks.

        • @Maverick-au:

Pretty much all printers are sold with starter toners or inks.

Not all, my HP laser came with FULL toners…

That's what I said in my comment above…

Do anyone know cost of cartridge of this printer?

Why ask when you already know.

I bought this printer original toner finished in a month hardly 800 pages out of toner.

Your page count means nothing as your coverage will be different to others. For all we know you have 50% toner coverage and not the 5% that is the standard measure.

I checked to buy toner and it was $120 plus for toner cartridge I will not recommend buying anyone this to anyone it is like a scam

How is it a scam? The printer costs $64 and gives 1000 pages which is 6.4c per page.

      Starter Toner: Approx 1,000 pages
High Yield Toner: Approx. 2,600 pages

$120 for the high yield toner is 4.6c per page.
$80 for a generic toner is 3c per page.

Not hard to see that this printer is cheap to run if you do the maths instead of carrying on.

      • You can go and buy and have fun looks like you love it not for me I put it out in hard rubbish.

        • +2

You can go and buy and have fun looks like you love it not for me I put it out in hard rubbish.

Your inability to use logic or perform basic maths does not make this a bad printer nor does it make it a scam as you claimed. Even if the cost of running it was exorbitant which it isn't a prudent purchaser would have checked this out before buying.

          Your negative vote is inappropriate.

        • +1

          @Maverick-au:

          Your negative vote is inappropriate.

getting the same item cheaper is appropriate for a -ve vote.

          @jv:

getting the same item cheaper is appropriate for a -ve vote.

His argument is that because he can't do maths that this printer is a scam.

The fact is that this printer is not available cheaper elsewhere as this is delivered for under $58 (assuming you use the 10% discount). If Officeworks had it available cheaper as they have pickup locations all over the place AND are open extended hours this would be a different story but the fact is that a store with ONE location offers this for pickup and they MAY have three other locations where you can collect it from a third party warehouse.

        • @Maverick-au:

          His argument is

          you're changing topic again…

          my comment above is valid

        • @Maverick-au: Are you a mathematician? go and buy 100 of these printer and do a phd thesis on these printers. why you are taking it personal there are much cheaper options are in market that give more pages per toner cartridge and easier to setup and have cheaper cartridges. This printer is not end of the world:). JV is absolutely right.

        • @ozehunter:

          Are you a mathematician?

Dividing the cost by the number of pages does not make me a mathematician but thank you for thinking so. Perhaps you should invest in a calculator?

there are much cheaper options are in market that give more pages per toner cartridge and easier to setup and have cheaper cartridges.

Name these cheaper options with their cost per page. Remember that you purchased a cheap printer without looking at the cost per page and had problems setting up a basic printer because your didn't know what to do.

        • @Maverick-au: If you use a calculator to do basic mathematics you need help. I definitely don't need a calculator to do basic primary school math
If you think it is the cheapest printer on the face of earth go and stock it. Ozbargain is site to help people get bargains not to force them what you like the best.

        • +1

          @ozehunter:

If you use a calculator to do basic mathematics you need help. I definitely don't need a calculator to do basic primary school math

But you were unable to work out the cost per page of this printer! LOL.

If you think it is the cheapest printer on the face of earth go and stock it.

Why would I stock this? This is a good printer that is reliable and cheap to run. Some people who can't do maths will say it's a scam however and can't back up their wild claims.

  • we have one of those here, the wifi is handy, but was a pain to set it up…. installing drivers manually, everytime we tried wifi was a different IP, but we survived and its all sorted now :) good cheap printer…

    • +1

      good cheap printer…

you can pick up a Brother 1210W for around $65 at OW with a price match.
It's a breeze to set up and works well… The toners are way cheaper than this printer too…
