Get a US $5 coupon and spend at least US $20 or AU $26.70, up to 25% off (create a new account with a new email)

Valid Time: 09 Aug,2016 00:00:00 PDT (UTC -7 USA) -> 12 Aug,2016 00:00:00 PDT (5pm East Australia UTC +10)
or 2016/08/09 at 5pm for Queenslanders.

There are a lot of cheap stuff with free delivery, it begins at 1cts ! Don't forget to compare prices.

HOW TO GET THE COUPON:
1) Delete your history/cookies or use the private browsing and click "Go to deal" then refresh/reload the page and valid the captcha
OR Go to https://www.aliexpress.com/ then click on "rising stars", you'll get a small pop up asking if you want $5. If nothing happened, use the private browsing or another browser but with this link, Aliexpress will send you a mail to verify your email and enter a code.

2) You will be asked to create a new account with "join free now" (if you log in with your old account, you will get nothing)
3) Aliexpress will automatiquely send you back to the $5 website so valid the captcha again and get immediatly your coupon (you will also see the new coupon in "my coupons")

Tips:

  • Clothes are smaller and the descriptions aren't always true. There are also scams on electronic items, be careful.
  • If you want to get exactly 25% off ($20 order), it's better to use $US and convert it to $AU at the end to see the estimated price.
Aliexpress mainly use USD but the conversion fee is ~2% so if your bank is cheaper: pay in $US or GBP, it depend of the exchange rate.
  • e.g. Cashback 7% or 7.5%
  • Test your items first before confirming the receipt.
  • It takes 7-14 days to receive your parcel if the seller is in Shenzhen and send your items 1-3 days after your order. Without these conditions, it can take 1 month.
  • Be aware of Australian's customs rules !

e.g. 40% off with an US$20 order: US$2 from a few sellers coupon + US$5 from this deal + 7.5% cashback

  • Any reliable sellers that sell the xiaomi 20000mah power bank?

    • I prefer sellers with at least 4 diamonds logo or with crowns and >98% feedback but last month the xiaomi 20000 mah was near AU $30 (banggood).

      • I wish they still have it.

    • +2

Yeah, even someone that looks like they have good feedback, turns out they don't :(

      • Blue Xiaomi power bank? ;)

  • just regarding the cashback with CR - does anyone else have any trouble with this? Is there a I used to not bother and mostly used the app because most of the time there are further discounts for using mobile, but now that it's 7.5% and i got myself a Citibank account i've been using desktop with CR but it never seems to track. Mostly no problems with any other CR transactions, just Aliexpress.

    • I've had some small purchases tracked, and some big ones not tracked.

Can't remember if I was using different PCs or any other details to narrow down the cause, unfortunately.

      • +1

Oops, some text disappeared - the second line was supposed to say "Is there a trick to it". Thanks abb and railspider, guess it's not just me then. I'm usually good for CR most of the time for other stores using either Chrome or Edge browsers. Looks like i'll start using the mobile app again.

Edit: of course i would just receive tracking emails from the 2 small purchases i made last night haha. Did absolutely nothing different :/

    • CR is very hit or miss for me with AliExpress. Have ordered 4-5 things since using CR, but only 2 things have been tracked. 1 has paid out, the other still pending.

      • I have used quidco and topcashback with success for aliexpress (many successfully tracked). I did have to raise a query about one of my transactions before it tracked however.

    • same here !

  • be aware of large purchases without pre authorise your ali account. my orders were refunded many times when i tried to buy a phone for USD180.

  • Damn it. Any way of getting this $5 coupon if you're an existing account holder?

    • +2

New account? Email addresses are free, y'know.

  • it's better to use $US and convert it to $AU at the end (aliexpress conversion fee is ~2.5% so if your bank is cheaper: pay in $US)

can you convert from USD to local currency? http://activities.aliexpress.com/adcms/help-aliexpress-com/l… ?

    • Sellers and Aliexpress prefer to use USD but you can also pay in EUR, GBP, RUB with Aliexpress currency exchange fee. For example, Paypal take ~3% (you can't use paypal on aliexpress)
You can choose between those currencies and find out which is the cheapest or directly choose AU$ on Aliexpress (it's an extimated price) but the amount won't be the same in your bank account because of your bank fee. In fact, you will pay in a foreign currency.
For example, when I bought a few things in GBP, it was AU $14.59 on Aliexpress but $14.62 on my bank account (+0.2%)

      • Oh I misunderstood you, so what you were saying is pay in USD? and not in gbp or rubles? When I buy in aud on aliexpress, it just reverts to usd in the checkout and so I'm charged conversion fee/conversion rate from the bank

        • Exactly so if you need a refund you won't always receive the same amount, not without complaining…
The main currency is USD but Aliexpress also sell in GBP, EUR, RUB with their own exchange rate from USD so for European debit cards, it's sometimes better to buy in another currency but I think with AUD, it's not a good idea. Sorry.

  • Does anyone know how to use it? I got the voucher, added the mi band to my cart, but not able to use the coupon.

      Valid Time: 09 Aug,2016 00:00:00 PDT (UTC -7 USA) -> 12 Aug,2016 00:00:00 PDT (5pm East Australia UTC +10)
So you will be able to use it today at 5pm in Queensland.

      • Thanks

        • Nevr got the coupon, how long does it normally take to receive your $ 5 off coupon?

        • @d-hunterz: immediatly after you valid the captcha but you need to create a new account.
Well…it's also possible to get more than 1 coupon with another new account but each coupon is linked to the account.

It doesn't work. Wont let me activate the coupon on an order

    • It will be usable at 5pm for Queenslanders because for Americans we live in the future (09 Aug,2016 00:00:00 PDT UTC -7)

  • Anyone have any ideas of what to get?

    • +2
    • My idea was to get 29 Swivel Tap fittings for $15.01 (dont forget CR) and they'll be 50c ea! http://imgur.com/a/Uoq3Z

      • +1

You can also buy another item from a different seller (ideally with free shipping).
Some sellers have their own coupon (e.g. $2 and spend 19 or $20 in their store) so you can combine both $2 and $5 coupon because the $5 coupon is an aliexpress coupon, not a seller coupon.

If anyone's wondering I bought some Lego knockoff from Ali. I did it as a bit of a punt, to see if it was any good.

I was very impressed with the quality. Not quite 100% match to Lego but very close. Way better than some Mega Blocks sets I've seen.

The instructions were hopeless. Every piece was there; no spares.

Surprisingly it arrived in about two weeks.

In the end, for me, the punt was worth it.

  • my Cashrewards only has 7% cash back how u get 7.5?

    • Quidco (UK).

Shenzhen HCkexin Electronic Technology (a sound devices reseller on aliexpress) increased their prices (a few US$ more) at 5pm… is it a coincidence? ;)

  • Tried two different emails. Two hours have passed and still no email from aliexpress…
And in order to get $5, as I understand, you need to verify your email address.
No $5 coupon in the account so far either.

    • No need to verify your email to get a coupon, I didn't receive an email to verify my account either but I got the $5.
I went to another bargain website and some said today, Aliexpress has a problem with their servers.

      • Unfortunately, I didn't get $5 from them, even though I registered new account. I checked under coupons.
I don't know of it's something to do with the issues with their servers last night…

Did you try to delete your history and your cookies or use the private browsing?
You can also go to https://www.aliexpress.com/ then click on "rising stars", you'll get a small pop up asking if you want $5.

If you don't see the message, aliexpress "knows" you so use the private browsing or try again with another browser.

This one is from the french ozbargain:
          https://coupon.aliexpress.com/getCoupon.htm?spm=a2g05.812762… (refresh the page first)

        • @jutsu:
Done everything as you said. After going back and forth (there is something wrong with their system) I have finally got the coupon. Thank you very much for your help.

        • it asked for the promotional code, where did you get that code from?

  • no coupon, it asked to enter the promotional code during register.

    • Aliexpress changed the process today but I think you need to enter the captcha code from the picture to verify you are not a robot. It's better to use the desktop computer.

      • I done mine through pc, no voucher found :(

      • ya… have verified the captcha code as well, but left the promotional code blank as I don't know where I can get that

        • +1

You probably used the "rising stars method", Aliexpress changed it today so it's different. I think you need to verify your email by clicking on the link aliexpress sent in you mailbox with the redeem code but never tried.

The "old method" ("go to deal" or french bargain link)is still working and it's easier, I just got another coupon a few minutes ago but won't use it, it's just to test if everything is ok.

        • @jutsu: got it, thanks Jutsu

        • @jutsu:

I used the french link - no coupon it asks for a promotional code

        • @robb6014: You can also try the ozbargain's link ("go to deal"). Ali is still giving $5 coupon.

  • Cheers!
