Cheers for the help and sorry for my ignorance

Kind of depends if you want the feature of a 2in1 tablet style form factor to some extent; but if you're just going to be using it as a pure laptop, that blurs the line somewhat.

        Thanks for the quick reply!

I'll be using it as a standard laptop, mainly for coding and leisure.
The tablet form would be a plus and I can only guess that I would use the tablet form if I did have it.

Damn nice specs for the $$$…does anybody know how (well) Lenovo handles international warranty?

    • +9

This is not a direct answer your question, but it took 1 full mouth for Lenovo to sort out a problem I had with a Laptop I received that had a broken USB port, this was a direct purchase from their AU store.
Phone support in AU/NZ suffers from upcoming bilingual persons. :P

        upcoming bilingual persons

        LOL, that's a nice euphemism! ;)

        • -2

          politically correct.

        • Adding that to my snide comment lexicon

    • I had good support for my Lenovo Tablet. Fixed in one phone call. I imagine support is as it was for the IBM PC, since that is the business they took over.

Tempted. But looks like the warranty is just DOA within arrival+30 days (correct me if I'm wrong?) :(

Not even sure if we would have to pay shipping to send back on a DOA.

And some of the comments on the shift key not being in a right place is a bit concerning, but main concern is I don't see any international warranty.

    • +4

That's Amazon's return policy, not Lenovo's warranty. You would still need to verify whether you get international coverage but you would get more than 30 days.

      • Ok yes IF there was international warranty then yes I'd hope it were over 30 days.
I'm trying to get through to livechat with Lenovo Australia on this but so far no luck.

        • +2

Just imagine how your support live chat is going to go then.

        • @Mikinoz:haha yes. It didn't connect so I have up after an hour.

      • +2

        No International Warranty

        • Ouch…

        • +2

Ouch. Yeah, I'm gonna have to pass on this one :(
