Getting oneplus 3 from them right about now is not a bad idea either. I got mine recently, I just wished I waited a week for this free shipping :(

Oh well, I got the phone in a good condition anyway, it's all good.

    • What version of the phone do they sell?

    • Hi,

How do you find the Oneplus 3?

      Planning to buy from eglobal..

      Thanks

      • I really like it, to be honest. Despite people going frantic over the fact that the phone have less network broadband, it works just fine for me.
Then again, I live in the city so maybe that's why.

Also, I don't really give too much shit about the camera, so it works for me.
I know some people are mental about the camera though.

  • I got a xioami redmi for a son from them earlier in the year, so yeah, free shipping is a sweetener, and Nuxus are always nice phones due to the Goole software updates and support. Might be time my son gets a new phone, band 28 and I don't see updates for the xioami coming …

    • Yeah I love the xiaomi but I'm pretty unhappy there is no Marshmallow not even xda has Marshmallow rooms so It maybe time to upgrade

  • What about warranty

    • +3

eGlobals warranty is a nightmare. Search whirlpool. Shopping from eGlobal is risk.

Check their "remote area delivery" terms. Not free shipping for me. If you don't live in a major city, there is a surcharge. Which is stupid, because there is a DHL distribution centre a few hundred meters from where I work.

    Remote area list, DHL

    • For the record, I've just paid for my order and have not been charged the rural surcharge. I'm also in that remote area list and would normally have to pay the extra. Hopefully I don't get charged after the fact, but right now it looks like the rural surcharge is also waived.

      • We get stuff delivered to work through DHL and they will call us to pay them the surcharge directly. It's a rort considering I could walk to their DC and pick it up myself.

You may or may not get charged it. See how it goes and let me know. I would be keen next time if I am sure that the fee is waived…

        • A quick follow up - received the phone today with no extra delivery charge, postcode 2586. Hooray!

        • @Towelie2k4: kind of wished I got one now! Next time they do their free shipping, I will try it out. Thanks for the follow up :)

  • Can anyone confirm this model works with the Telstra 4G network? On checking the similar Kogan Grey Import it suggests it isn't.
    I want this phone but…

  • Dammit, I paid $318 a few weeks ago for the 16gb version :(

    Tremendous phone. Highly recommend.

I saw from a couple of reviews that eGlobal has a bad reputation when it comes to returns and warranty related claims. Has anyone had any bad experiences with them?

    • +4

Well my LG phone broke 1 month after purchase. Did a return, and they checked it. Took like 3 weeks. Now they say it's sent to repairs so maybe another 3-5 weeks…

So costing me postage money ($40?) and a lot of time. Also they can be fairly slow to reply back to RMA issues.

It's crap but pretty standard for overseas returns/repairs.

      :(

      • Can you get the postage covered by PayPal? Doesn't compensate for your time but at least it's something

        • How does that work? I thought PayPal was only there to cover if the seller doesn't actually ship you the item.

Kind of a bummer. I bought an LG v10 for the wife and it broke just a few weeks after purchase. Sent it back… costs me money and to top it off, the LG v20 is being announced to be released next month so the price pretty much dropped down like crazy.

I submitted an RMA request on the 8th of July, they were very prompt to answer (replies within 24hrs). They asked for a video of the problem and then after viewing it, said to send them the phone.

Sent it off via auspost ASAP and they got it in a week. Auspost tracking says delivered and they immediately emailed me to say they received the phone. I was impressed. And then… that's when they started replying/updating very slowly.

About 2-3 weeks of no replies (sent like 3-4 emails), they just email me out of the blue to say it's just been sent off to repairs and expect some weeks for an update.

So here I am right now just waiting for the unknown.

I've bought plenty of phones before overseas but never really had a hardware issue so never had to deal with RMA issues. This is an eye opener but kind of expected.

          @plasmoske:
Paypal covers the costs of returns if the seller doesn't already, it refers to refunds but the terms and conditions don't exclude returns for repairs so it's worth a shot

As for the repair time, sounds really awful, even for an overseas seller. I hope it ends up working out for you, will definitely think twice about purchasing anything for myself from these online sellers.

        • @yessum:

Thanks for the info. I'll try give it a read/shot later.

edit: On second thoughts, yeah maybe I can't. The receipt is in the rubbish (stupid) and it's been over 14 days since I shipped it back.

And yeah it's for repairs, not a refund.

          Cheers anyhow.

        • +2

          @plasmoske:
I think when it says Refund, it refers to the refund of the shipping cost, not specifically refunds for the item.
Might be possible to get a reprint of the receipt from Auspost if you have the shipping number. But it really depends on how much time you want to spend on this

  • Just posted my G4 off after boot looping and back on my Nexus 4 for a while… My impulse purchase sense is tingling though

    • what a coincidence. My G4 just having the same problem, starting few hours ago.
      Can I ask -
where you bought it from / returning it to?
What steps did you try to fix it (i looked at android forums and google etc - looks like a common problem for the G4).

I bought from QD, via a deal here in November 2015

      • QD eBay store in August last year. Sent them a message through eBay and got a return address in NSW and RMA number - off to HK or Taiwan to fix I'm pretty sure. There's no easy fix because it's a hardware fault that LG admits to having. There is a work around out there that disables the main cores of the processor but I didn't try it… If you're desperate to get data off it you could try that

        • Ditto here - same deal, QD August 15 - same issue. I'm not going to return it, because it has sensitive data on it. So unfortunately, it's going in a bucket of water. :(

        • @p3rsonally:
Couldn't factory reset from dead screen. After my G4 boot looped, I was able to …..eventually……do a hard reset

    • Search whirlpool for some nightmare warranty claims from G4's (including mine). My advice, consider it gone.

      • So you're saying I should buy the Nexus? Done!

        • +1

If I'm honest, no haha. I bought the N5X after my G4 died. Relative to the G4 it's significantly underpowered. It's tolerable, but I pretty much have the N5X. If I was in that situation right now I'd get the moto 4th gen from OW for $400 (basically the same spec, but cheaper).

By cheaper I mean $400 for the moto 4th gen at OW is cheaper than you'll find the N5X in a bricks and mortar (I'm making the assumption you won't be buying the N5X from a pack of thieves like eGlobal).

  • What's their delivery times like I don't want to be waiting weeks I'm metro Sydney

  • love my iPhone… but these prices are almost too good…

  • had 2 corrupt OS faults on these phones but google were awesome about it and replaced them asap. Besides that awesome phones.

    • So, you bought from Google Store, not these guys?

  • If only there was a Gold option!!!

My wife got a Sony Xperia Z5 Compact from these charlatans. It died within 30 days, screen black, won't turn on, while she was sitting there using it. They made her send it back, at her own cost, to HONG KONG (even though they have an AU domain they make you send it overseas) then took 3 MONTHS and many reminder emails to get back to her to say it is unrepairable, then they wanted to send her a DIFFERENT phone as compensation (that was worth less). After she said she just wanted a refund they just started ignoring her emails. She has complained to paypal to reverse the transaction and now they are saying they CAN repair her phone and will send it back. It has now been close to a year. She has a new phone, why would she want that one back now? Still no refund and no end in sight. I would really recommend not using this company.

That's the risk you take if you buy from overseas supplier, or even used products.

You take the chance for a lower price at your own risk.

      • I've bought used phones before and them fixed under warranty. Usually you can check how much warranty is left on phone by imei. Buying a local purchased phone used in excellent condition is probably a safer bet than a grey import.

    • +6

I went through something similar. eGlobal are really really bad.

If anyone does want to buy from them ALWAYS use PayPal and be ready for a fight if you need warranty. Keep every conversation with them along with the original packaging etc.

      My experience is here:
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/252806#comment-3906108

      eGlobalDigital is just woeful.

      • Yup, this is me https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2554543

If you buy from eGlobal and have any sort of fault, consider the device (and your money) as good as in the rubbish bin.

        • Wow. Your situation sucks. I've read a few threads saying how bad they are with rma. Good delivery and everything to get the sale but terrible with anything else. The comments in product review should be taken with a grain of salt me thinks.

    • +7

It is a huge mistake to close a paypal dispute without having a final outcome. I have been using ebay for 7 years now and only had 2 bad experiences (having used it 350+ times). I used paypal against these nasty sellers and did not close dispute until received refund. It was obvious they were trying to convince me to close the dispute so as to get a refund, BUT if you do close it without having resolved the issue, you are at the mercy of the seller.

On the other hand, cant understand why buy a Sony smartphone. They are shit.

      Good luck with your case.

      • +3

@nikosfoivos. That is exactly what they were trying to do with me.

Good advice. Never ever close a paypal dispute no matter what the other party promises.

      • As I'm seriously considering buying a Sony smartphone. Could you please elaborate on why Sony are shit?

    • Yeah my phone broke and so far it's been with them for about 3-4 weeks now and they say it's off to repairs. So maybe another 3-5 weeks. Hopefully I don't get the same crap from them.

Also yes, we paid for the shipping to them in Hong Kong for about $40. Pretty meh about it all.

      • I'd like to hear what happens. These guys are cretins.

      • Start your complaint now through paypal, if it hits 6 months, you can't open a dispute as it is too late.

        • Well the phone is still with them. Still no updates. Maybe if it hits Sept and I hear nothing, I'll hit up Paypal and try go for a dispute.

  • Would you consider a good upgrade over Lenovo k3 note. I am absolutely tired of atrocious ram management that bogs the phone down

    • +1

Was using a k3 note before upgrading to a 5x and I would say yes.

Plenty to love about the Lenovo (dual SIM, microSD, removable battery) but the 5x running nougat developer preview is smoother, has a much better camera, and has a (very well located) fingerprint reader. Battery doesn't seem quite as good as the k3 note however.

      • Thanks

  • I'm in the market for a new phone and have heard wonderful things about the Redmi phones.

Could anyone suggest why i should get this google nexus over either of these two Redmi's?

    http://www.everbuying.net/product1175733.html

    http://www.everbuying.net/product1119375.html

    Are the Redmi's "good enough"?

    Thanks

    • Nexus is on the latest stock version of Android and will also be upgraded to the upcoming Android N.

Redmi uses MIUI which is currently still based on Android Lollipop. It's a heavy skin, definitely not close to stock. But you could flash to a different ROM if you wanted to.

At the end of the day, I'd pick the Nexus if you're not comfortable mucking around with your phone and flashing things and just want an experience that is going to work. The Redmi hardware is better for the price, but it'll likely require a bit of software tinkering to get the experience that you want.

      • That's awesome, thanks.

        • Don't buy a redmi, bought 2 redmi notes and they broke down after like 3 months of normal usage. Also very shitty UI with little to no custom software out there for it. Having a shitty unreliable phone is not worth saving $100 or w/e.

        • @Protato:

          Arrgghhh … Thanks :)

  • What shipping option do most folk normally get.. the free option or the $35 insured option from them.

  • has anyone tried price beating with office works?

    • They won't do it - non retail store selling imported stock

      • I got 2 today - price beaten by officeworks.

        • +3

Well I'd suggest going to the casino and betting it all on black with your luck (and post the receipt for Ozbargainers that have more strict OW employees)

        • Which ow did you go to?

        • Which office works?

        • @clgt: Alexandria

        • @Blenny: any chance you could post receipt? I plan on going to Alexandria tomorrow to buy one..

        • @zappoo: Unfortunately I am too lazy

      • Had office works price beat dwi for a mbp last year. So yeah, it's possible.

  • Does Officework/HN etc pricematch eglobal?

    • Haha, you must be new around here!

      • +3

        Don't pick on the newbies

    • No they won't as eGlobal's stock is not Australian. They are what a 'Grey seller'.

    • AFAIK no

  • Anyone have any experience with a hard case for one?
Want that extra protection so any real life experience would be good to know. Thanks

    • +1

I got the Ringke Fusion for mine. Happy with it so far.

    • +1

Dealing with eGlobal is a HARD case…

  • +1

I just watched some youtube review— it claimed this doesn't have a micro sd expansion slot!

    • +2

      That's right, it doesn't.

    • The very first Nexus phone - more than six years ago - was the only one to have a microSD slot.

  • Has no SD card. A pretty good deal otherwise.

  • Hey folks just a question heaps of people on here buy Chinese phones but they basically come with no warranty and there is no aussie retailers to buy them from? So whats the difference with buying from Eglobal compared to Ebay most Chinese sellers are the same to deal with? I bought my digital camera from them.

  • If these guys are easy to deal with, this is a crazy good deal!

  • Am I missing something here? $25 shipping to postcode 3000, how did you get the free shipping?

    • Ok, I was missing the fact that the free shipping only shows up when you checkout, sorry for that.

  • +2

$329.40 from DWI on eBay using CTENOFF code.

  • Did anyone receive this with the wrong power adaptor? Mine arrived and the LG power-USBC adaptor doesn't fit into the Australian power adaptor. Anyone else have this problem?

    • Mine came with a UK charger and a UK>AU adapter.
