    Hi

I'm looking at the straps, and just wondering if they 20mm width, it doesnt say in the details.

I'm looking at the canvas straps and Berlin Leather strap

    Thanks

    • Hi Teal,

Yes both leather and canvas straps sure are 20mm wide.

Great choice on the canvas and Berlin straps!

      Cheers

      • can i have leather wallet….

        • Hi Wick,

We'll be back in stock of leather wallets in a couple of weeks. If you subscribe to the newsletter, you'll get the update. There's a really good deal coming up on the leather wallet in a couple of weeks.

Would you please list a few example bargains in your description please? Your FAQ says " … check our Stockists page to see where we are stocked." Clicking on Stockists reveals none whatsoever.

    • The bargains are every watch. The code brings the $200 watches down to $80

      stockists: alibaba

      • Not even they are listed!

    • Hi PJC,

The description's updated now with example bargains.

      Cheers

      • Thank you.

        • You're welcome :)

an Ok price. these look like Daniel Wellington watches, especially with a nato strap.

    • +2

this was my initial thought too

    • +3

Yes, and I doubt that is a coincidence.

    • +5

also similar to palmeraapparel.com (card wallets and everything same, same, but more expensive)

buy $9 sweatshop watches .. write blog on how your designs were inspired by the cannes film festival .. sell watches for $199 .. profit!!

  • I had two cheap watches that I bought from online and wanted some new straps as the "leather" ones they came with were shitty. Bought two canvas straps, so thanks OP.

    • Glad we could sort you out AussieDaddy. Both our canvass and leather straps are really good quality. If you have any issues at all, just shoot us an email and we'll replace or refund you without any hassles. We're sure you'll love the straps!

    • there are nato straps available from aussie sellers on ebay starting at $7.95 delivered.

less than $3 delivered if you order them from overseas.

      • The difference would be $2.05 (according to your math), so not that much of a difference. Plus, this is also an Aussie (relatively new) business so supporting them with a few extra bucks won't break the bank.

        • Thanks @AussieDaddy, we're a 1 year old Australian business based in Melbourne. Really appreciate your support and the support of the OzBargain community. Look forward to sending you your new straps!

        • +3

buying from an aussie ebay seller is supporting a small aussie business in exactly the same way.

plus you'd have $2.05 left to spend on another aussie business (preferable one that actually does something more tangible in australia, like farming, manufacturing, real design or saving kids with cancer)

australia isn't going to get any better or richer by selling overseas goods among ourselves at ever increasing markups.

          @devilbabies:

lol, support our " aussie " businesses that dropship cheap items manufactured in another country.

        • +1

          @Whomastadon: exactly my point :)

        • +1

          @devilbabies:

          Your logic isn't quite right.
Paying more for an identical product (same supplier) in AUS is likely to mean you're paying for things like customer service or maybe even a shop front. Sure they might whack $20 on the price tag but that's going into our economy… far better than the $2 seller profit on eBay

          @grimes:

yes but playing on the " supporting Australian businesess " that simply onsell imported Chinese crap is a bit rich.

  • Do they come with the Travel Case?

    • Hi Johnno1987,

Thanks for the question. Unfortunately, the watches do not come with a travel case. This was only part of our initial launch a year ago.

      Cheers

OP, how and when were you actually selling these watches for $199, as your eponymous website lists no stockists whatsoever?

    • Hi PJC,

We have been selling our watches online for about a year for $199. We also have stockists across Australia - a couple linked below:
      https://www.designtwins.com/collections/watches
      http://www.rosesttradingco.com.au/#!product/prd4/4507654061/…

We are in the process of updating our stockist page and that is why it is blank at the moment.

      Cheers

      • +1

Won't you be updating more than that? Possibly connected with:-

"Due to unforeseen branding circumstances, our friends at the boutique watch brand Winston are sadly no longer able to sell their much loved watches under the Winston name."

I always wondered whether Harry Winston would have an issue with Winston Watches! Fascinating find.

          Hi PJC,

Great to see you're researching the and engaging with the Winston brand. You're absolutely right regarding our branding issue. A couple of weeks ago we let our fans and customers know that sadly we will be renaming the Winston brand W TIME as a result of a copyright dispute. We love the name Winston and we're sad to say goodbye to the much loved watches that we designed and produced under that name. As a result of this re-branding we're offering incredible deals on Winston products to the OzBargain community.

We've been overwhelmed by the support from the OzBargain community over the last 14 hours and we're really happy to be able to offer such an incredible deal on our products to such a supportive community.

        • @winstonwatches: The truth is emerging in very small pellets indeed. Research to discover the truth should be unnecessary. I am not engaging with the Winston brand. You are disengaging with the brand. The place of manufacture remains a mystery. Store Reps achieve more here by taking OzBargain seriously.

just a tip. free shipping is a good thing but a popup advertising it each time when you click on an item may annoy some shoppers.

    • Hi hpkv,

Thanks for the feedback! We are actually updating various parts of our website and that is great feedback that we will take on board.

      Cheers

It's a copycat of DW watch.

    • How dare you! Customers are supporting ridgy-didge, dinky di, blue heeler loving overworked Melbourne designers who are much too busy deriving inspiration from the Cannes Film Festival to update their vast list of bricks-and-mortar stockists. Speculating where they are made would be unreasonable even though that is undisclosed here and on their website. Furthermore these ageless classic minimalist concept mobile wearable timepieces comprehensively differ from Daniel Wellington watches due to wossname and of course the W is not preceded by a reversed D. It would be absurd to expect perhaps 3 example watch bargains in the description because OzBargain is merely a portal for the Store Rep's website.

    • +2

      That's what I mentioned above.

  • Are there any watches which are 38mm?

    • Hi Mons1eur, thanks for your question. Unfortunately we don't have any 38mm watches in our current range. Our new range will have 38mm watches though and if you subscribe to our email, we'll let you know as soon as they're out! :)

  • +1

Negging because Store Rep/OP's responses and "bargain" are deceptive.

"We also have stockists across Australia" - impossible because OP confirms I am "absolutely right" they are no longer able to sell watches under the Winston name.

"A couple of weeks ago we let our fans and customers know" - we are offered no explanation why OP's fellow OzBargain members were not informed within the description.

"We have been selling our watches online for about a year for $199" - affirming the title's $199 RRP which obviously cannot be current.

Consequently this "big time user of the site" joined 2 days ago to sell what cannot be sold elsewhere, by being economical with the truth.

      Hi PJC,

We just want to correct some statements made in your previous comment.

The Winston brand will be renamed W TIME from August 25th as a result of a copyright issue. We have included this in the bargain description.

Over the last year Winston watches have been available to purchase in retail stores across Australia. Some of these stores include:

We provided you this list of retailers a day ago in a previous post on this thread, so we're confused that you attempted to refute this fact in your most recent post.

Finally, based on our research into your previous and ongoing conduct on OzBargain, it appears your tendency towards combative and negative comments is not limited to us alone. It appears the strong majority of your comments to other bargain posters, businesses and members of the OzBargain community are most often negative and combative.

As a result of this consistent behavior towards us and the OzBargain community, we have reported you to OzBargain.

      Regards,
      The Winston Team

Great to see you're researching and engaging with OzBargain.

"The Winston brand will be renamed W TIME from August 25th as a result of a copyright issue. We have included this in the bargain description." - We are still not informed why your fellow OzBargain members were not told this earlier. Had you forgotten? You remembered "A couple of weeks ago we let our fans and customers know".

"We provided you this list of retailers a day ago in a previous post on this thread …" - Despite what your FAQ says, your website still lists no stockists whatsoever. "Stores across Australia" means more than naming 2 or 3 in NSW and Melbourne. Perhaps the list is too vast?

"Our new range will have 38mm watches though …" - You neglected telling that prospective customer it will be a new brand, not range.

You confirmed I am "absolutely right" you are no longer able to sell watches under the Winston name. Only now have you provided the date August 25th. For no adequately explored reason, that was previously undisclosed.

" … based on our research into …" - Research to discover the truth about a deal should be unnecessary.

I contend it is duplicitous for a "big time user of the site" Store Rep to project an image that a brand is current and nationwide and has a new range forthcoming while knowing it will terminate this month, and withholding from fellow OzBargain members salient facts which are relevant to making purchasing decisions.
