They're on sale because they are useless.

We got these with our Wii U when it first came out and have never used them even once…

How do you know if they're useless if you've never used them even once?

      • +4

Because I could not find a use for them.

If I had used them, they wouldn't be useless…

How about sticking your gamepads on them (like what they were designed for)? I'm not enjoying playing Captain Obvious here.

Your stupid fault for buying it then.

They were included as part of the package.

They weren't designed very well then…

The charger won't connect if you have a skin on the gamepad…
The stand is pointless as you hold the gamepad when playing.

@jv: Pretty much what Jv has said is true. I have one myself that was included with the package. Can look cool if you want to put it on display but it gathers dust quickly so I put it in a case.

I use our charging cradle all the time for storage and charging. It's not useless, although clearly it has issues if you add skins and the like to the controller which changes its profile. Same would apply for cradles for many devices.

I don't care for the stand but.

When EB are cheaper you know something is up. https://www.ebgames.com.au/wiiu-159985-Wii-U-Gamepad-Cradle-…

    Their RRP is $14.95 btw

    • Thanks, is it okay with you if I update this deal with the eb games info?

      • +1

Sure, note EB games is in store only though.

        • Thank you, done.

I do find the charging cradle to be a useful tool for storage of my gamepad when I'm not using my Wii U, but I can understand others not seeing its worth

    • It doesn't fit if you have a protective rubber skin on the gamepad.

    • Yeah I've always used the cradle, works perfectly….now do I need to buy this and have a spare…

  • Options options, $9.39 if you don't want to go ebay and want to save 60c to get it delivered :D

Same here - overpriced at RRP but okay at this price. Our gamepad lives in the charging cradle.

I found only one use for mine…
Multiplayer mario kart … If no one is using the game pad..
You can set up the course map to be shown on the game pad..

Otherwise it is pretty mich useless..

  • You can also use it as a mobile phone stand :-)

  • When I bought my Wii U off gumtree, the person I bought off couldn't find the cradle, so gave me $20 off the agreed price. The only game I could see it being even remotely useful for is Splatoon, but really even then it's not like you can't use a makeshift stand.
