Airsack 30% off, Airsack Plus $416.50, Airsack Original $367.50, Australia Free Metro Shipping

ok, I posted this last time but didn't put as much effort into it since I knew what I was getting and got told off for it… so I will put more effort into this one on why this is Bargain worthy.

Item Description:
HUGE Bean Bag filled with FOAM is the fastest and quickest way to explain what this is, it has a sturdy cover that is hard to rip and no maintenance/refilling necessary since it will just puff itself back up.
Check the website FAQs if you want more info on the materials used etc.

Here are 2 quick pictures of the AirsackPlus against a door for comparison+inner cover/zipper.

And I can't find the one where someone jumped from a double storey…

Why is this bargain worthy?
I've been wanting to buy something that I can use in front of my bedroom TV so I originally went with a "bean bag" and accidentally stumbled across 'foam sacks' while searching, thing is they aren't as widely available in Australia yet. I wanted something light and portable to bring upstairs without breaking my back and, my bed and computer chair just wasn't cutting it in the comfort/backrest department…

These things are alot bigger in person than the pictures and video make them out to be so overseas won't ship it to us and the only 3 options we're stuck with is the Australia's Kloudsac, Lovesac and Dreamsac.
These 3 charge anywhere from $50-100 JUST FOR SHIPPING and their prices are double of what Airsack is offering with the exception of dreamsac but they still charge $100 for shipping anyway.
Our AUD is weak, no one will import it to us, shipping is ridiculous and Airsack being the "New kid on the Block" is offering free shipping with 30% off promotion which probably won't last forever.

Normally I wouldn't have posted something like this, buy it for myself and you guys won't even know of it's existence… but I've been getting good bargains here for the last few years and wanted to return the favor in some way or another.
I don't expect everyone to just go out and buy one right away but please don't compare these to water/air bed/bags, they are garbage and you get what you pay for.
My Airsack just arrived today after waiting about a month and I'm waiting 24hrs for it to expand and harden up, sale will end in 2 days so I wanted to get this up ASAP.

I've got a couple of sacks right here. Highly recommended.

Can you show us a picture of them against the door?

  • -1

Against the door? No. Being sat upon though…

    • Every household has the same size door so thought it'd be a better comparison~

  • How difficult is the cleaning/washing process? Cos cleaning bean bag covers are the pits.

    • Pretty easy, Just unzip the outer cover and put it in a washing machine.
There is an inner layer that holds the foam in so you never have to unzip that and cause a mess.

There have been reports that the sacks get droopier as they age.

  • How do they compare to lovesac?

    • If you already have a lovesac just stick with it… or was that another jab at the 'sacs' :(
They all kinda offer the same thing so I obviously went for the more affordable option :x

Man… I just had another look and it's like $400+ for a kid size with shipping.

      • Nah I"m curious. Always wanted a lovesac, but I've never actually sat in one (they don't have any stores in my state)

  • Omg, a curious click into what this is turned into an airsac +1 and a headrest purchase….damn you op this better be good

    • Now that's too much pressure on me!
      Unless it was joke :'(

Man the Airsack +1 is no joke in terms of size, please tell me it's not for your bedroom too! Heck I have only about 1/5th of a walking space left

      • haha no joke..an impulse buy, but I guess that's what ozb is for eh.

It's for the lounge/computer desk. But holy cow it's like 30kg? Looks like some fun times are ahead. I just wanted something that lasts a long time

        • It's gonna be a really really long wait, 2 months ETA :(

My household has like 12 Pillows that can act as a headrest so didn't buy one, might buy a footstool though cause it felt abit awkward not having the feet up.

        • @Zeral: I saw that they have show rooms set up at chadstone and southland..is there any in stock there or is it the same wait time as the online purchase?

        • @Zarcady:
Most likely same wait times but at least you can go try them out in person before committing since you know of the place!
Its a 2+ hr round trip for me so I took the gamble.

They only had the pink/orange left when I spoke to them the other day but they probably can't work on them right away cause they're waiting on the black inner cover, foam and backlog.

Will add some pics of the inner cover to the imgur once sun is up

Ok I've used it abit and kinda screwed up the initial setup and it sucked the first 30mins cause the red outer cover and foam kept flapping all over the place with not much support.

Basically the airsack logo should be touching the ground and there are flabs around the zipper which we're meant to pull towards the ground, it will get rid of all the excess air and keep the foam in place.

    Verdict?
    For $400 bucks hell yes.
I don't even know how they're profiting with free shipping, 2 sturdy covers, and foam equivalent to probably 20 Pillows.

    • I don't suppose you know how big the box it was delivered in was? I'd probably have to get it delivered to my work address and transport it home in a car, just wondering if it will fit or if I should think about one of the smaller sizes.

      • About the size of an 30ish inch tv but in a rectangular shape or 5 woolen quilt/blankets from target?

Best to email them for exact measurements and it would definitely require 2 people to carry it in just cause of its size, had to give the courier a hand.

Actually depends on the size you're getting, I got the Sack+

  • No offence but this is a really suspicious post.

You posted this the first time without having even seen on in the flesh (is that even remotely normal?). Wouldn't an OZB user ask about experiences before purchasing from somewhere that had no ABN number etc at the time?

The first post was more like an ad and poorly posted.

You then readvertise it again (admittedly it has an online discount code) and give gushing comments like "Normally I wouldn't have posted something like this, buy it for myself and you guys won't even know of it's existence… but I've been getting good bargains here for the last few years and wanted to return the favor in some way or another.
I don't expect everyone to just go out and buy one right away but please don't compare these to water/air bed/bags, they are garbage and you get what you pay for."

It is being over sold by you and now you say other items are rubbish yet you hadn't even seen this one yet gambled $400 on it. Then state "I don't even know how they're profiting with free shipping, 2 sturdy covers, and foam equivalent to probably 20 Pillows." when it is just foam and covers.

Or maybe you are just really into fancy bags to sit on and I am not :)

You don't happen to know the owner in VIC by any chance do you?

    • It's not for everyone but for a foam type sack, I think the prices are quite competitive. Granted, I haven't demoed the product before purchasing, so I'm not sure if I will even like it or not but they had a satisfaction guarantee so that was enough for me to make an impulse buy. We will see soon enough if it's worth the cash

    • +1

Nope, you're reading too much into it.
I was simply just happy that I finally got it, maybe I seem that way cause I'm actually replying to every question and comment~

And the stuff I said was actually serious, how do they profit if every other store charge 50+ for shipping, foam Pillows cost like 30+ each and the 2 layer covers are probably worth 100.
Even overseas charge 300usd and our aud is weak as.

      • Im now sort of regretting my purchase. They seem to be having a discount every other day, just extending their deadlines whilst slightly changing the discount value.

But more importantly, I sent an email to their customer service and got a reply 5 days later from one Dan Butcher, a rather passive aggressive email with a hint of sarcasm. This was after I bought an additional foot rest so a total of around $500 spent. Not a good start, and I havent even received anything yet.

"not sure if you noticed the delivery timeframe when you ordered?"
When a customer ask you a question, you dont answer back with another question. You assume nothing and just answer the question you have been asked. Its basic customer service and this guy comes off as the sort of smug douche who thinks he is above everyone else. Not to mention not answering an email until 5 days later. I am actually pretty pissed off.

        • I used their live chat and always got a reply within 1-2 days max and even within 5mins when lucky. Wanted to change the color from chocolate to red and was asking for an eta 1 month later etc.
Even if they change discount value every week, 30% has been their highest so far if you go through their past Facebook posts and still save $50ish.

The guy was pretty honest/upfront with me offering compensation too for an additional cover or $60 refund for running out of stock.

If you're unhappy with them just cancel it cause the wait is going to be 1-2 months regardless and rushing them won't change anything, maybe I was the guy waiting before you and I'd end up being disappointed :(

As for my Airsack, I dunno how long it'll take for it to rid itself of the new foam smell thingy… I've had for about a week now.
It feels like a bunch of marshmallow/jelly scrunching up and a transformable piece of furniture… And not as great for eating snacks and drink from a side desk cause its hard to move in.
So this isn't as perfect all rounder as I thought it'd be but still don't regret it cause of its size and flexibility. I don't have to deal with a sliding bed mattress, armrest getting in the way or a chair that can't lean back or slides around anymore.

        • @Zeral: Yeh I can see that it would be pretty hard to move in with the size of the thing. Still not enough to get me to cancel the purchase just yet, but I don't enjoy getting snarky emails from customer service, especially a start-up company that should go above and beyond to build up a customer base. And that's even before I got a chance to try out any of their product yet. Just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I'll see how I go with mine after I get it. If I have even a slight dissatisfaction with the product, it will go back to the seller. He gets no empathy/understanding from me anymore.

and ps: not having a go at you mate at all. Bit disgruntled that's all

        • @Zarcady:
Np, as said earlier, I don't work or gain anything from them lol.

I may be abit disappointed in the size choice though, maybe abit smaller woulda been better but I probably would have went "if only I had gotten the bigger one…" anyway.

        • @Zeral: yeh I know, I never thought you did either. I got a follow up email today (not sure if he read this post on ozb) which was more professionally written. Offered to change to a charcoal one which might arrive by next week. Too early to form an opinion but it was appreciated.

Definitely the sizing conundrum went in my head too..will primarily be for personal use but would have always regretted not buying the bigger one if I went small.

Will let you know how everything goes!
