I find Uniqlo's HEATTECH range to be more comfortable than Kathmandu's.
Also, the Kathmandu's UltraCORE and ThermaPLUS seem to be very susceptible to pilling after a few washes.

- I believe they are generally referred to as "undergarments"
- I believe they are to keep warm (hence the name) eg for Winter or Snow activities (under your other clothes)
