ShoppingExpress has a price drop on these two 4-bay QNAP NAS this morning — TS-431 $299 and TS-431+ $429 + postage ($11.70 to Sydney). As expected, Futu Online remains at their original price but after the current 20% off Tech Deal with coupon code CTEC20 and free shipping, the eBay price is cheaper.

I use an old QNAP 2-bay NAS — these are nice little machines with great software from QNAP. It is possible to run a proper chroot
Linux distro installed on the HDD to expand the functionality, however I ended up just migrating to an HP Microserver as I needed more than just a NAS.
TS-431+ has faster Cortex-A15 CPU and 1GB RAM, verses TS-431 with Cortex-A9 CPU and 512MB RAM, which chews a bit more power.
Shopping Express has the TS-431 for $299, though their TS-431+ is $429.
I am looking at 2-bay NAS. My current QNAP 2-bay is TS-210, old, slow and fan is faulty. Looking at Futu's models - TS-231 $199, TS-231+ $271 and TS-251 $319 (after 20$ discount). Would like that Celeron-powered TS-251 but $319 getting a bit expensive.
