They have removed most of the overseas Netflix regions and Netflix are flagging customers using the service.

Exactly what I was going to say, I've missed out on using the other regions for the past few months I don't think I'll be renewing my subscription.

    • Yep, I've given up as well and have cancelled all of our VPN/DNS services in lieu of subbing to just the local service in August. Tough pill to swallow but only on a ethereal principal level rather than a practical one, so we'll see how it goes.

    • I'm still using USA fine on the computer and my nexus player. Happy with that.

    biennial

    • I was wondering why biannual was more expensive than annual lol

Big fan of Getflix, but have been a little disappointed by the lack of global Netflix support. Been using it for other streaming services though (hulu, hbo, bbc etc) so have still been getting good value. For those of you who have been stranded by the Netflix crackdown on geododgers I recommend trying these other services.

Even with the Netflix issues, I find Getflix is still very good value due to the subscriptions including access to VPN's in many countries. Comes in handy for websites which they don't officially support

Netflix isn't a Getflix specific issue. I don't know of any DNS service who has been able to outfox Netflix restrictions. I used to use UnblockUS but they just bullshitted customers into thinking a fix was on its way.

Am close to binning Netflix and according to their latest financials I'm lagging, it's churning customers in droves.

We had US Netflix issues on and off during June, but it's been rock solid the past couple of weeks. Using getflix with a Samsung smart Blu-ray player. I've disabled the Netflix app from updating which is probably helping.

      • That's good to know. I have it running Australian catalogue at the moment and it's so close to being culled. Maybe with their shitty financials they might just step back a little from the blocking anyway, it must have hurt them.

I'll try it again tonight on my Apple TV.

        Cheers

  • I'm still getting value out of my Getflix subscription (even with the majority of NF regions removed). It can still be used for other things apart from Netflix. Seems like there was an outage, but NF has come good again for me.

Not bad value if I didn't already have a "lifetime" sub.
Even without US Netflix, you be still got all the other unblocked geo-specific services like Hulu, Setanta Sport, RugbyPass etc.

  • Works on PC for me still usually. Even without it Netflix are releasing some bloomin fanastic originals. Stranger Things is ridiculously good!

im only using the usa region but im having no issues with netflix… getflix still works fine (samsung tv)

  • I don't recommend them if your only need is getting around Netflix's geoblocking, I also don't recommend them due to how they reacted to my concerns and words of encouragement on social media. I mentioned that my yearly subscription was ending soon and that I wouldn't resubscribe until they managed to fix these issues and wished them the best of luck. I posted this on their Facebook and the comment was deleted, tried their Twitter and was promptly blocked. After wondering why I emailed them about it and their excuse was their third-party "fraud detect" program blocked me in both instances. I doubt it.

I understand this issue stems from Netflix and affects not only Getflix but they seem to be easily upset by people voicing anything even slightly negative that might dissuade others. There's a reason they were selling "lifetime" subscription only a few months ago, right before the whole Netflix DNS blocking began. Now that they're doing this discount again I'm suspicious that their service will become even further neutered.

If you want USA Netflix then I suggest starting a free trial with someone and using a throwaway email every two weeks. If you want a more permanent option you'd need to invest in a VPN that gives unique IP addresses for an extra cost.

  • ITT: People claiming Getflix is still useful as a VPN but haven't looked up alternative VPN providers.

  • Just a heads up Hulu is now doing the same as Netflix.

    • bugger. really? any ideas when they're going to start doing this?
I didn't have any issues earlier on this evening, and it would suck if I were to lose Hulu.

      • Yeah I did not know until I went to watch something the other day and got a message on the screen from them. But yesterday after switching to getflix and resetting everything it is working again. I was using smartydns.com and when I logged in to the client area there was a message that they were aware of Hulu blocking there Ip's. The message is gone now and Hulu is working so I gather from that, Hulu is following Netflix and we are going to have problems.

        This is the message I received;
