Very strange that upgrading this to max doesn't add to the price, all the other models are adding up normally if you try upgrading.

    Awesome if they honour this

  • +2

Looks like they have a bug that allows to make it a hamburger with the lot for $899
I reckon they will fix it soon

    $863 through education store

    • Do you need to be student or education staff to buy from education store?

      • +2

Need a .edu email to register

    • +1

Just went through PayPal, all good. Back to Lenovo to finalise and:

      Sorry, now in system maintenance.
      Welcome to come back later.

EDIT: Changed payment to CC through Lenovo and purchase went through :D

    • anyway to use cashrewards and the edu discount?

      • +2

        I got both.

Went to Lenovo via Cash Rewards, signed in as a student, searched for E460, selected, spec'd and bought for $863.03

        • Even though you get a tracking email, you may not cashback for this as the coupon is not on the Cashrewards website. Lenovo may change your pending payment to declined once they consolidate their sales.

        • @tightarse:
I thought all Lenovo purchases via Cash Rewards get cash back?

        • @yoyomablue:Estimated AUD 83.58 cash back would be nice though!

        • @yoyomablue:

I thought all Lenovo purchases via Cash Rewards get cash back?

Correct, as long as (1) there's no coupon involved or (2) the coupon is listed on the Cashrewards website.

If you use a coupon not listed on CR, cashback may not be payable as per the terms on our site. See this screenshot…

        • @tightarse: ok. 'Fine print'

        • @yoyomablue:

          'Fine print'

I've tried to make this as clear as possible in many posts. You need to remember, it's not a CR ruling, but a store ruling. They're the ones that decide whether they will pay cashback on top of a further coupon discount. The use of unpublished coupons is a prime reason members' transactions change from a 'pending' amount to 'declined'.

  • Thanks awesome deal.

I am also surprised max out the spec doesn't cost more.

  • I maxed it out and it stayed at $899 until I got to final checkout and the price went up to $1199.

    • +2

      Then enter the code

      • Just tried to edit the post. Did that and back down to $899.

    • +4

Just need to apply the DEALS code again and it'll bring it back down to 899

    • -6

      me too

      • +1

just click apply deal and it will drop the price

        • +1

          wow this is gold

      • lol why did this comment get 5 negs while Ntr0py who posted it gets no negs?

        • ozb logic. sometimes i wonder what kind of clowns are on the other side of the screen

  • Crazy deal if they honour it

    def a pricing error

    • +1

Was looking at a T460 for my old man and if this comes through, I won't be hassled by him to get a new machine for a couple of years…

  • +7

    Thanks OP bought 4

    • I'm guessing business purchase?

      • +2

I like to use my laptops once then throw them out once the battery is drained

        • Which humourless bargainer would neg that? Have a +1 friend.

  • Sweet! Ordered one all spec'ed up. No cash rewards though.

  • Thanks. hopefully it goes through

  • Finger crossed….

  • +2

FFS, bought this exact laptop through them in their last sale like 3 weeks ago and it cost $200+ more than this with a smaller SSD and less RAM. Pretty pissed off right now.

    • +9

You can hold your "piss off" as orders here may not go through.

Come back in a few days.

  • Great find OP. Fingers crossed they honour it. Would be $1,996 without discounting
    1199 + i7($200) + WinPro($100) + 1080p($131) + 16Gb($200) + SSD($149) + wirelessupgrade($17)

    Cash rewards -> TRS = $745 = Cheering

However, I think the odds are low of this actually being delivered.

    • Reading your breakdown I'd bet money against then honouring this.

  • Why oh why it doesn't work with the other models…

  • I have ordered one, but expect that they won't honor it as on similar occasions in the past.
But hey, cracker of a deal if it goes through

  • "Windows 7 Professional 64 preinstalled through downgrade rights in Windows 10 Pro"
Does this mean it does have Win 10 Pro in the background as well? Or do you need to manually upgrade it to Windows 10 Pro?

    • +2

This means that it will arrive with Windows 7 Pro installed; however it is fully licensed for Windows 10 Pro (so you won't have to pay to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro at a later date)

  • Purchased! Zing!

  • Can this be used as a low intensity gaming laptop?

    • +6

It will crush Minesweeper. Low intensity gaming ahoy.

      • +3

I've heard it will absolutely fly through four player Hearts over a 10MB LAN too.

        • Should fly through Minesweeper. And in Solitaire those cards really bounce when you win.

    • 720p gaming it might just be okay with everything on low setting.

But on latest AAA games expect low 20fps which is not playable imo.

Save yourself coin and get a desktop if you want to play games.

  • Do u guys think this is cheaper than trying to build a desktop with similar specs? I have a feeling so, but want ozb input as always!

    • No, desktop comes with full blown processor laptops come with mobile processor and you get bigger screen with desktop.

    • Def not. No such thing as a gaming laptop, they all kinda suck. Building desktop is easy, we or whirlpool will help you :)

PS most shops will install components for you for a fee if you're not confident, but you have to buy the parts from them. I used IJK in sydney for my first build. 4 solo builds since then.

  • Thanks OP. Worth a try. I paid by PayPal but the transaction has not yet been processed by Lenovo. Do they only process your payment once your order is completed and ready for dispatch?

    • +1

Yes, which is why everyone that has made an order have their fingers crossed they will honour it

  • +6

All Over, price changed when you upgrade.

  • +3

Yep, just went through Paypal @ $899 and it redirected me back to Lenovo for the final payment and shot up to $1,696.99.
    Oh well..

  • I don't seem to be able to customize it anymore, everything is pre-set.. Expired?! :'(

  • +1

good luck to everyone who managed to place their orders @ 899 !!

    i was too late :(

  • +1

I'm so bummed I just missed. I had upgraded all the specs for $899 and suddenly it reloaded to say those specs where no longer available. Desperate for a new laptop under 1K that won't make me want to throw it at a wall. Grrrr

  • So did everyone get the two emails when ordered?

One saying 'Thanks for your order'
And one saying 'Confirmation for order' with tracking Link and invoice?

    • Yes. I did.

    • I did.

    • yep

  • Delivery days:
    Ships in 6-9 business days
    Subtotal (inc. GST):
    $1,696.99
    Shipping:

    Total (inc. GST):

    The price changed now.

    Good luck!

  • Didn't work for me!
    ah well

  • Any idea how long it takes for the cancelation of these orders (if it's going to happen) usually takes for this kind of thing?

    • +1

I reckon, we'd know by the end of the week (either cancel or they'd honor it)

    • +2

It says on the Order Tracking page, that the Shipping Date will be confirmed within two business days. So I assume we will know either way by Wednesday.

  • sad missed out aswell :'(

    • +2

You're not missing out until any of us got our orders fulfilled.

      • true but its 50/50 atm which is better than no deal HAHAS :P

      • fingers crossed you guys get it tho :D

  • +4

Just received a notification from my AMEX card that Lenovo charged me 899. Hope they will honor the price!

    • My mastercard with westpac also charged. Fingers crossed

  • Since no one has asked the question, is this still a good deal without the upgrades? I still need a laptop :|

    • +1

If you need a laptop now, check out the Dell Outlet webpage. There are definitely good deals on there.
You'll need to order via Dell Chat.

      http://www.dell.com/learn/au/en/audhs1/campaigns/dell-outlet…

      • Thanks a lot for this.
Bought 'as new' E7470 for 1100.
        Hopefully it turns out good.

        • +1

Good work. It sounds like you got a huge discount on the retail prices for the E7470.
I've never had an issue with the Dell Outlet, my understanding is that the "As New" products are mostly cancelled business orders.

  • god damn! i bought this exact same computer a few months back for $1200 which was still a solid deal. totally should have waited :(

  • Don't worry- I got in an order 1 min before it expired but I'm almost certain it won't be honoured. Lenovo has a long history of using 'bait and switch' tactics and have not honoured their originally advertised offers; rather they offer some shitty discount in an attempt to appease those who have their orders cancelled. The language in the order confirmation is full of loopholes and this article provides a lot of information about what will likely happen:

    http://globalnews.ca/news/1355313/lenovo-canada-cancels-cust…

    • and yet you still ordered a pricing error laptop?

      • +1

I didn't know about this before I did. I wouldn't have even looked at a lenovo laptop otherwise, and won't again if it is not honoured as I am anticipating.

        Further examples specific to ANZ:

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/116348

        • I remember that deal, would have been good to preserve it as a Deal, so you could see all the negs it ended up with.

Or you could read the 21 pages of comments, I'm sure there's a few angry OZbargainers in there!

  • Anyone got theirs shipped or cancelled yet?

    • Nope.

  • +1

I wouldnt be surprised, if they really honour it. The upgrades are ridiculously overpriced. Lenovo wants 2000$, where you can get similar notebooks for 1300. 900$ is still a lot of money, sure, they dont make profit, but their loss is also minimal. Probably still cheaper to send them out than to have 200 angry customers, who swear never to buy Lenovo again…

    • +1

I too am applying wishful thinking.

    • If you look at the previous deals for this notebook model on OzBargain, there are similar specs to this one for maybe $100-$200 more. The only real plus with this particular deal is the SSD and Win10 Pro upgrade. I'm guessing they are considering letting this go through. It probably depends on how many laptops were actually ordered.

I'm sure selling this laptop will be a loss for Lenovo. But I'm quietly confident.

  • From the tracking website (using the Old version) looks like today it has been released for Manufacturing.

    • Mine also says released to manufacturing from old version of tracking system. But also says please come back within 2 business days of order placement.

    • Old tracking website? Please elaborate, thanks.

      • +1

Check the confirmation order email with a tracking link. That will open the new tracking page. On the right handside there is a blue arrow button to open the old tracking page

    • Mine says the same, however if I look at the timestamps it went to manufacturing an hour after it was ordered.

Still not looking like a sure thing. My card still just has a pre-auth on it, not yet charged.

      • +1

Call them up, mine's in a similar state as yours and they said payment's cleared all good to go.

  • +3

Got call from Lenovo to confirm shipping address and credit card info. Waiting for delivery.

  • +3

Got a shipping confirmation that the order is on it's way.

    • Oh that's awesome…

    • +1

What does it show on the order visibility portal?

    • what is the expected shipping date?

  • +2

Received two missed called from Lenovo yesterday and called back today found out from their credit department. After I gave them my order number and got told that payment cleared and I just ignored the calls.

Asking him when the item going to be ship? I've got told possibly today will get a confirmation.

    • Oh well, received email from credit department today and I need to verify some details. I was like what's going on? Didn't I've got told everything was good?

Anyway, called up gave them my details and this time they will proceed my order after they confirmed my details.

I'm just hoping that I will getting a confirmation email from them in the next 1-2 business days.

Will keep on update if there any update from Lenovo.

  • +2

Got a call from Lenovo confirming that it has been sent to manufacturing and that finance is all OK!

LOOKS LIKE ITS HAPPENING GENTLEMEN =D
