This is the 1070 SC version so a decent clock boost over the stock cards.

EVGA do an intl warranty too so a good brand to buy from Amazon.

    • 28 degrees or citibank 4tw :D

      • Dont have a 28 degrees card. Does citibank credit card has less or no fee for USD payments?

  • +1

    Awesome!!!!

Been holding out for this to come in stock at a decent price.

    Thanks OP!!!

  • I have preordered msi 1070 gaming x from amazon and its due to be shipped on 12/07 and im no longer interested in the card, if anyone interested PM me or i will just cancel my preorder.

    • Cancel it and get this one instead. Note that the MSI requires 2 power connectors, 8 and 6 pin.

This EVGA only needs 1 connector, 8 pin, leaving you breathing space for SLI later on.

      • I already have one and i was planning to get another one to SLI but i change my mind due to 1 card is more than enough to my need(I only play black ops 3 and fallout4 at 4k).

  • sigh goodbye $600

    Bought

No more stock, but they say more on July 10
Edit: It went back to 15 so I guess the stock is flowing well

    • This happened in the time it took for me to drive home from work. Made my decision to keep my ASUS 1070 Strix order easy haha..

  • +2

    Cheers OP, there goes $600

  • Bought one thanks op. my heart is pounding right now. Now I need to look for a monitor upgrade.

    • Limit your search to UHD Gsync. Stay away from "Acer Predator XB281HK" as i have it, for some reason i believe the UHD resolution is fake.

      • +1

You're telling someone who just purchased a 1070 to buy a 4K panel?

Sure hope he doesn't take PC advice from this site.

        • He is looking for new monitor so its better to buy something good for long term, not everyone buy new monitor every couple of years.

    • I just got an Acer XB271HU, absolutely stunning IPS/1440p/4MS/G-Sync monitor. There are some quality control issues with all of these low MS/IPS/G-Sync monitors. I got a gem though. Check this thread out if you are going down this path; http://www.overclock.net/t/1581181/acer-xb271hu-share-your-e….

770 will play most games really well(Low setting 1080p). For some gamers 30fps is really well, others is aiming for 140fps. Thats why tboth Toyota and BMW making lots of profit.

    • +1

      "Really well" is subjective.
The performance gap is pretty huge especially as you up to 2k and 4k.

      • I was refferring to the more common 1080p. But it seems many in the ozbargain community are truly ignorant to the new technology being released.

  • Opinions pls. Currently have a Gigabyte 970 G1 overclocked to 1569mhz on the core, with a [email protected] and 16GB 2133mhz RAM. PSU is no issue.. Should I get this? I 2-3 times a week at 1440p and I'm not interested in sinking more money into a CPU/MoBo/RAM upgrade.. ugghhhh i don't knowwwww haha. Just to make things even more complicated, I see that I could get back about $320-350 after fees selling my 970 on ebay. so this upgrade would really cost me about $300.

    • +3

If the current card does everything you need then there is no rush.
$610 is cheap right now due to price gouging on these new cards and supply chain problems. But they will come down to this level as the norm, and lower.
… And then the ti's will come out, and the cycle continues :)

    • +1

Ignore what everyone says. Are you happy with what you have? If not, then upgrade. If happy then save your money. The Gtx 1070 is performing slightly faster than gtx 980ti(Which is equivalent to 970sli), i have MSI 1070 Gaming x oc to 2088 and its performing around %1-%3 faster than Asus 980ti matrix(But way colder 10c-20c) .

    • Cheers legends! Just the kind of logical tap on the shoulder I needed. All I was seeing googling gaming forums was "yes, definitely get a 1070 cos itz awsum". If gaming was my 'thing', it might be a different matter, but then I wouldn't be rocking a 2500k from 2011 hehe. I was actually surprised to see what a huge boost I got to my minimum fps by going from 1333mhz RAM to 2133mhz. Zero micro-stutter since, but I digress. I guess I'll upgrade once I start hitting constant roadblocks with the 3.5GB VRAM on the 970.

      • Gtx 970 is not bad for 1080p but anything above that is no.

        • Yeah its a pretty big jump in pixels. I've found a custom res of 1920x1440 @ 16:9 aspect looks damn good in most games. Also being able to tweak settings on pc means you can get great performance boosts with very little drop in quality. I'll probably upgrade once the evga/gigabyte/msi/asus goes below $500 AUD on the amazon specials :)

    • +1

Good luck sell 970 for 300…

      • Cheer up mate! But yeah, that's also what I was thinking, then i saw the recently sold ebay listings averaging $350-400 for the gigabyte G1. I'll probably hang onto it for another 6 months anyway.

        • i sold 2x 660ti MSI for 170$, i know it is below avarage(200$) but hey, i would rather sell it for 170 or even 150 so i just have enough 610$ than not sell it at all, considering:

1: i am sick of SLI
2: i started play OW seriously
3: 1070 just came out like half a month ago, and it is new generation
4: it is holiday in australia xD
          5: i indeed need a quieter setup
          6: this deal pops up.

          reasons. i made my switch.

i just sold my 660ti in the morning and this deals shows up. i am lucky xDD

I would say the Gigabyte one here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/256103 is a better deal than this. It's $10 usd cheaper and the G1 has gotten better reviews than the EVGA card (lower temps under load and doesn't suffer as much coil whine as people have been experiencing).

The EVGA warranty superiority is a myth for Australians. Gigabyte offers 3 years international warranty too where you have to ship it overseas through Amazon (you have to do the same thing with EVGA anyway)

    • Can you explain that further? Does this apply to Asus as well?

I have pre-ordered the Strix and the only thing that makes this card more compelling is the international warranty and that it will ship out 10 days earlier.

      • -3

Idk about Asus but I know that Gigabyte has 3 years international warranty

        • I call that bluff, I just received a reply from Gigabyte and there is absolutely NO international warranty covered, ever.

        • -2

@cloudie9: That's because Amazon does it on your behalf. And if you have to ship your card to the US for the EVGA warranty anyway, what do you think the difference is?

        • Here's a hint: it's zero

        • -1

          @bumluffa:
Don't know why these EVGA fanboys are negging you. You make sense in what you say.

Up until now I thought EVGA had a AUS base where you could drop or send a GPU if you needed an RMA. Seems it much the same thing as any other brand and that is sending it overseas, which won't be much cheaper sending it to Tiawan to Amazon US.

That's the trade off i guess in saviing a cool $150.00

        • -1

@TilacVIP: Yep… sadly this is mindshare right at work here. Word of mouth spreads like wildfire regardless of what's actually factual

    • +1

Gigabyte doesn't have international warranty, you have to handle it through Amazon who is offering a warranty they don't have to. EVGA offers true international warranty where you can ship your card to either Amazon or EVGA in Taiwan.

Wow! Stroke of luck for me this evening… after having my $600 Google Play bought HTC Nexus 9 tablet bricked by the android N beta program, an I mean really really bricked, I rang Google support. Even though the tablet is 8 months out of 1 yr warranty they're going to refund me my full $600 for the mess. I bought it at launch at this the outrageous price. Long story short, guess where my $600 just went ;-) And to top it off, my 28 degrees mastercard (paid USD) will be giving me $20 credit for spending over $400 before the 31st. This is too good to be true. My face is grinning like a man on some kind of unicorn rainbow lolly water flavoured crack.

    • How did you get the 20 dollars off 400?

      • Got an email 3 says ago from 28 degrees and excepted the offer. I don't use the card much maybe it's a form of encouragement?

        • just found mine, says to spend $900….:(

  • Damn you OzBargain!

    Goodbye $600 :(

  • This card or the Asus OC 8gb?

The Asus seems to be the better car but this is in stock and provides international warranty.

    Dammit I can't decide

    • +1

ASUS' cards actually aren't very good. They reuse the same cooler (e.g. STRIX) by moving the standoffs, rather than customising it for the card. This often leads to poor contact with the chip and gimped cooling.

But they give you 1337 LEDs, so people are duped by the shiny lights.

      • The biggest issue is that ASUS card lack reviews. The one review I found was very positive (maybe too positive) and stated that with the cooling it maxed at 60 degrees at full load.

        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVhGmtkk4KY

The review on the GTX1080 (which is pretty much the same form factor) from a very reputable reviewer (OC3d TV) also gave the card a very solid review.

        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IevrJgHhM5U

Also it is my understanding that ASUS are the only manufacture to have a completely automated process. This should lead to fewer errors and increase reliability.

        Auto-Extreme Technology
        Industry-only 100% Automated Production Process

I don't care about the leds - so I really want to make sure that the price difference is justified. I would have hated to opt in for more shiny lights, an extra HDMI input and 4 pin fan cooler inputs, in exchange for no international warranty and superior cooling.

It is a hard choice but I am leaning towards keeping the Asus. I am hindered by a slight psychological effect where I noticed that the ASUS is selling for $100 more on PC case gear than the EVGA - I know its dumb but its hard to combat that effect with logic.

        Ahhh hard choice…..

  • 1784 boost clock。。。。i guess it is good enough for me……

  • Should I be sensible and keep my 4770k + 290X, or should I upgrade :)

    • You really should, but I didn't! Sold my 4770K and 390X, 6700K and GTX1080 incoming :)

Total waste or money though haha

      • I think I'm going to be sensible, I haven't had any issue with my rig running at 1440p, there hasn't been any increase in graphic fidelity in games for years, Crysis 3 is still best looking game out, and it runs flawlessly on my rig, no point in upgrading just yet, unless you want to go 4K, then sure.

  • Been WAITING for this card. Bought. Cheers OP!

  • Bought as well. Thanks OP.
I checked review and found this card is so so. Nothing great but for that price $610 it shud be okay. I keep telling myself it ll be alright.
All shops here selling $780+ anyway

  • It's saying it won't ship to Brisbane (Spring Hill, 4000)? Anyone else getting this?

  • Price just increased to $549 USD plus shipping

    • Founders Edition still only $450 USD, only $10 USD more.

  • +1

    Yeah out of stock.

  • Price is showing as $519.95 for me (USD). Anyone else getting this? Did I take too long for this deal? FML

  • Will a Asus H87-PRO motherboard be able to run this?
I think Mobos are the only component I never really get to learn…

    • There won't be any issues with older motherboards. Even boards with PCI-XPress version 2 can run these cards (possibly will a slight decrease in performance).

Just make sure you over 10.5 inches of space in your case and at least a 550 'What' Power Supply.

  • Wow, these cards sell out quickly. Literally "Flying out the door".

It says: In stock on July 12, 2016. Price is still $440 US but there is the dreaded message: 'This item is not eligible for international shipping.'

  • Literally just bought one for 440, i assume someone must've cancelled their order.

  • +1

Amazon charged my 28 degree, $609.10 and now preparing for shipment. Awesome, ended up cheaper than the OP's conversion estimate.

    • Lucky. Mine hasn't been charged yet and I was prob in way before you :p. What shipping option did u go?

    • I ordered this card 2 days ago and hasn't shipped yet. Did you go with priority shipping?

      • +1

Nope, just standard global shipping option (aka tight ar$e ozb option). Just ordered it last night as soon as OP posted this deal.

        • Probably guys like me who ordered a day ago, (before I posted the deal) got allocated a certain batch of stock that was on the way, then they received another batch and wacked that online and it's been allocated and shipped straight away. Dunno how Amazon logistics works but I imagine it's not as simple as FIFO as we would like…

        • @Skramit: Sounds like it. Apparently their Breinigsville, PA facility just got the batch in for my card and its been marked as preparing for shipment too. Was about to rage at the Amazon chat staff lol.

        • @Green Man: haha. Yeah doesnt worry me too much though as I'm not home for 2 weeks. Should be waiting for me when I get back with any luck!

    • +1

I feel ripped … 609.56 on my 28 degrees showing up this morning … lost 46 cents ;)

    • Any idea why 28degrees charged me $601.38? Not complaining though :)

EDIT: must be the fluctuating exchange rates.

  • Keep refreshing, came up for the same price again. Score!

  • Damn. I just ordered the 1070 FE EVGA card from newegg a week ago.

Ahh well the price was almost the same at least and apparently blowers are better in the RVZ02 mini itx case.

  • Still showing up as $439.99 to me.

Price: $439.99 & FREE Shipping. Details

In stock on July 12, 2016.

  • Marked for shipping today!

    • mine is not and i bought it as soon as this deal was posted :( i want it nowww

  • For those that missed out. This price is not as good ($460 USD) , but still better than the current price now on amazon. Note that it does say that it is not currently in stock.

    http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1262834-REG/evga_08g_p…

    • Can preorder for 356.53GBP (~AU $615) Delivered from Amazon UK
      Vat is removed at checkout

      • Pre-ordered since mid-June on that one. No update since then.

        • Very tempting - however wonder what the wait will be…

  • +1

Looks like the shipping is taking time to get out. Must have been packing all OzB orders in a container to be shipped off at a time.

    • +1

Influx of gtx 1070 scalpers listing on eBay will start next week.

    • Shipped! Just received my notification! Now the wait begins…

  • Mine's saying expected to ship on the 7th of July Usa time but don't look like it's going to happen @_@

    • My one shipped today

      • Just got shipped bought at 9.00pm 07/07

        • +1

        • @mikkim4eva:

Mine shipped last night. Says expected delivery 27th July, 3 weeks away… what the lol?

        • @bharrop:

I give up looking at it… it just says shipping soon :(

        • @mikkim4eva: I guess it's luck of the draw or Amazon is crazy, I ordered last night really late, got lucky that price went down to $450 for Founder ed., and now they emailed me that it's shipped, expect delivery 21st Jul…

        • @echineon:

Amazon is def crazy… thought I check out if my payment didn't go through or something. Live chat guy told me it's currently out of stock and will be back in stock on the 13th of July.

Oh wells, too bad I need the card… #GamingWithdrawals

  • deal is still occasionally on, just bought one at 8PM for $450 founder edition. Refreshed the page after ordered and price went back to $540. So keep an eye open fellas.

  • How do you get this item shipped to Aus? Ive never used Amazon, it wont let me checkout saying they can't ship to address.

    • Think the original deal that has the option of sending to Aus is now expired. So you probably have to wait and see if Amazon enables overseas buyer again.

  • +1

My payment went through overnight on my 28 degrees card for $606. :D :D Shipping today!

    • +1

      Same. cant wait! :D

    • mine was shipped on 9th July. i placed the order 2 hours later after this deal was posted here.

now the tracking infor only shows up to 9th July(should be 10th in australia) -.-

      the wait begins.
