    Which reviews were these? For $399 and local warranty and spalding branding you can't go wrong really.

    We've had a few systems over the years and personal experience has been that the China knock offs have flimsy, thin and poor quality polycarb backboards. They offer very poor rebound from new, and last 1-2 years in the sun before warping, cracking and eventually breaking off in bits. And when they do, you'll find spare parts hard to come by.

    Our previous spalding was an entry level one, the acrylic backboard is much thicker, rebounds a lot better and after 3 years still looks almost new.
