I have been keeping an eye out for Sonos 'play' gear to go on sale at the EOFY sales
saw that Myer have the below products on sale
SONOS PLAY:1 (white & Black) was $299.00 now $254.15
SONOS PLAY:3 (white & Black) was $449.00 now $381.65
SONOS PLAY:5 gen 2 (white & Black) was $749.00 now $636.65
There is stock around NSW, though i called my local JB HIFi and price matched. i Just bought the Play 5 (white gen 2) for $630

i called my local JB Hifi (Leichhardt NSW) as i couldn't be bothered heading to nearest Westfield (City CBD)
They price matched it over the phone, 10 mins later it was in my boot

Why would they not? They are a permanent part of the line up in the US
I've seen them for months/years @ Myer Adelaide (haven't been in store personally for a couple of weeks now though)
they are not listened on any sellers sites at all.
JB, Video Pro, Myer, done of them have them listed anymore.
I saw a two pack in Myer Adelaide cbd on Friday
spoke to the sales guy at JB - he said it was a limmited time promo
i got my new gen play 5 for about $600 from jb hifi half year ago.
Walked into JB around 5 mins before this sales guy's shift had ended, asked me to name a reasonable price for the 2 Play:1 set, I said $450 and he gave it to me.
Too easy… I have never had such luck.
The dude was overworked and I think he just wanted to get out of there, but still it was the best purchase I made in a very long time. Sonos make amazing products that just work without complicated setup

It's a good price when you look at the price of each individual play 1 in isolation.
But the packs RRP is about 500. So you got about 50 off
Anyone who pays full ticket price in JB HIFI makes me sad.
I bought a $250 record player reduced to $200 without even blinking.
1.Look for the hairiest dude. They are the most helpful.
2.Ask for information and pretend you're on the fence even if you know you want it
3.Ask for him to get his scanny do be whacky thing to get the best price
4.Profit
@sagiballs: This actually works and I've done it before (don't know about the hairy guy part though haha). The sticker on the box said $579 and I was like no way paying full price for this.

This is probably really obvious put you can pair them
They are louder paired (2x discrete output)
But sound better as a stereo pair (one is left the other plays right)
@sagiballs: Do two Play1's sound better than a single Play3 or Play5 ?
Two Play1's costs a lot more than a Play3 so you would want it to sound noticeably better too.

2x play 1s
Play 5 1st gen (late addition to the family whilst on clearance)
I would say it depends what you like most in your music
Play 1 pair sound amazing in stereo for mids and highs. Having true stereo separation is awesome. Bass is lacking if that's your jam. Think Saturday afternoon jazz and pop
Play 5 (gen1) sounds good in a different way. Much better bass and a fuller lower range. Think Friday night party.
I got lucky and picked the play 5 up for 200 odd. So I have the play 1s plus the play 5 paired together and it's amazing!
The only other thing I would say is Sonos have quality + convenience. But they aren't the best value for money.
If most of your audio is via streaming services then it is fantastic. If you don't use that, and your inputs are predominantly wired through your TV etc other brands are probably better

JB Hifi at Kedron refused to price match, lowest they would go on the Play 1 was $275 even though I wanted two of them. Looks like they are available for click and collect from Myer in Brisbane city so I guess a lunch time trip will be taken,

Just got an email from JB offering $50 off each sonos item till this Sunday.
This now brings their price below the Myer click and collect price.
Have normally had good experiences with JB but this has turned me off them.
Good speakers crap compatibility. A bitch to play stuff through.
I should be able to air play whatever I want not use an app and hope my stuff is part of their list of third party connectors.
