USD $5 (~AUD $7) off Order @ Glasseslit

40

Hi all! I've been looking into buying glasses online this week, and noticed few places have deals going right now.

Glasseslit are less well known than some of the other online glasses stores (e.g. Zenni or Clearly), but they've been around for ages and they have great reviews. $5 off doesn't sound like much, but their prices are so cheap it makes a nice dent in the final cost.
The have a lot of stuff for USD9.90 (~AUD13.34) frames, 1.49 or 1.56 single vision lenses, and anti-scratch coating included. Adding anti-glare is USD4.95 (~AUD6.67) and shipping to Australia for one pair of glasses is USD6.99 (~AUD9.42).

Right now they also have a selection of glasses for USD1 (~AUD1.34) when you're buying anything else (excl. sale), link is in the header of their site too. Same rules re. free lenses and cost of coatings apply.

The $5 off coupon is received through making an account, adding some glasses to your cart and not checking out (leaving the glasses in the cart). After a day or two you receive your $5 off coupon as a welcome back incentive. Code is single use, expires 7 days from when you receive it, has no minimum spend, and seems to be tied to your account.

I sign up with EyeBuyDirect, and wait for the 50% off voucher they have every few months.

    • This place looks good! They have buy one get one free on frames (excl. lenses and coatings) with BDAYBOGO today only and 15% off with WELCOME15 too, thanks for pointing them out!

  • So how does this work?
Get an eye test from spec savers? Get some sort of print out… Then email this to the glasseslit??
    Ta

    • Yep, get an eye test and make sure to ask for your PD (pupillary distance) too. They have to give you your prescription but not your PD, so make sure they give it to you - otherwise you won't be able to order online.

Specsavers are good at giving it to people but they sometimes give a line about only measuring PD when they're ordering glasses for you as they use the frames to measure it. That's how they usually do it, but they're also able to measure PD with one of their machines and I believe they've been trained to do it manually in case of problems with the software etc.

Once you've received your prescription, here's a guide from Clearly to help you fill out your info when you're ordering online: http://help.clearly.com.au/1931-prescription-information/369…
