Presto - 6 Months Free

3470
TEL515INR06

Just received an email with a new promo code after trying to sign up with the old coupon posted about a week ago.

Hi there,

We have noticed that you hadn't had a chance to finish signing up with Presto and wanted to make sure you don’t miss out on the Presto subscription offer that came as a part of your recent Telstra service.
Presto is unmetered for Telstra Home Broadband customers, so it doesn't count towards your data allowance when viewed on your Telstra home broadband service at home. Otherwise, data charges apply.

      • But what if I'm overseas?

        • Then yes you need a VPN or DNS forwarding service.

          @macfanboy:

Confirmed. I just activated a US VPN on my Phone and the Presto app threw up a message about needing to be in Australia when I tried to play something.

I find that mildly amusing though since it's not like Australia is where it's at when it comes to exclusive premium content anyway.

  • For the sake of it, or you guys actually watch this? I had a one month trial like 8 months ago, didn't like it a bit.. has anything changed?? or its still a crap service?

    Cheers!

    • They need to change their library.

    • I'm have had a free trial before and it was so poor, almost unusable.

Thought I would give it another free trial.
Still buggy as hell. Having massive issues with Apple AirPlay.
It was free, but I feel like they owe me for wasting my time!

Netflix has minimal issues and a native AppleTV app.

  • For parents. One thing Presto has that Netflix doesn't is more Wiggles… I'm not sure if that's a positive or a negative. Netflix only has one season of the Wiggles. Presto has quite a few more.

  • Would love to use the promo but Presto requires a credit card which I dont have. I dont have a visa debit card either, just an eftpos card.

Get a reloadable visa or MasterCard from Woolies/Coles. They cost about five dollars I think, and you can reload them at the supermarket or with BPay.

      • This. I keep my old ones when they only have a couple dollars left, and use them to sign up for stuff like this online just before they expire.

  • +2

This deal reminds me I need to cancel my free subscription in Aug… don't think it Worth's continuing with. Too old stuff to bother…

  • Not managing to sign up (new email). On clicking 'next' it thinks for a second, then clears the password. After this the 'next' button is not clickable anymore. Anyone any thoughts?

  • This code is not working for me, but I may have used this previously as I signed up originally with a Telstra 6 month promo code. Is anyone else have trouble with this code not being accepted?

    • (1) Create a new account with exact same details but a different email address. Use a temporary one e.g. https://www.guerrillamail.com/

      (2) Insert the Promo code where it asks you to select the bundle. After you apply the code, it should go to $0 for 6 months.

      (3) Once finished setting up account, log out and log back in with your ORIGINAL account.

      In the ORIGINAL account,
      (4) close your account (at the very bottom of the page). It will however only expire at the end of the current cycle (which may not be today).
      (5) change your email address to a different one (random one or another temporary email address, doesn't matter).
      (6) Log out

      (7) Log in your NEW ACCOUNT (using the temporary email address)
      (8) Change your email address to your NORMAL email address.

      Done.

  • Just used it worked thank you!!!

  • Works for me after closing my previous account with 6 month free subscription on the same email address!!

  • This only worked for me when I cancelled my account and tried with a different email address. I did try creating an account with the same email address (+1@gmail) but it still would not work. I used Presto a long time ago when they first started but cancelled because of ongoing issues. I will give them another go and see if they are any better. Anyhow the code is still working.

      • Thanks, but what's it for, exactly? Is that a way of getting a new Presto account with the same email address you had on the old account (and not having to log in on the PlayStation again), or does it allow you to bring across something else, like your watchlist (due to one weird trick in Presto's system)?

        • sorry i should have clarified, that's to use the same email address for a new account.

  • Excellent! Thanks for the share!!

  • Sorry, newbie here, do you need to be a Telstra customer for this and have a Tbox for this to work or can anyone use it? I am with Iprimus. Can someone help me out here on how this all works please? Thanks.

    • do you need to be a Telstra customer for this

      No.

have a Tbox for this to work

No - see here for devices:

      https://www.presto.com.au/devices

      • Thank you. So I can plug laptop into TV and watch that way, correct?

        • Yeah, although be aware that, for some reason, Presto via a web browser is in SD - every other device is HD.

        • Ok, so is it still a good picture or is it not worth watching that way? Also Presto mentions data allowance, if I have unlimited internet with iprimus it won't matter to me?

  • It's still working. Just did it with my account which had 1 month to go on the old 6months code

  • My subscription ends on 30 June and I just renewed it. It worked! Thanks OP.
