MyUS.com USA Shipping - Premium with Mastercard (No Setup Fee, 1 Year of Premium Free, 30% off Shipping for 1 Year)

90

Saw this from an email from my 28 Degrees card:

"MasterCard Special Offer - FREE setup for Premium Membership ($20 savings), FREE membership for 1 year ($60 savings) AND 30% off shipping costs for 1 year"

You just follow the link and go through the sign up process for Premium, when you checkout it will say $0 if you used a Mastercard. Definitely works with my 28 Degrees card.

Now I already have an account with Shipito - I tried using both calculators. MyUS says they don't worry about dimensions anymore, just weight. A 3kg package will be US$75. Shipito is still very dependant on dimensions, the price changes if the 3kg package is 20x20x20 vs 30x30x30 vs 40x40x40 (centimetres). For 30x30x30 it is $51.

Edit: I can't find any way to cancel your account or suspend it, or any other way to prevent them from billing you monthly - 12 months from now when you forgot you signed up :)

  • Actually, I'm not sure, it might still be $7 a monthly fee? Can someone who can understand their pricing better than I please have a look?

  • I presume the $7 will be after your free 12 month subscription expires. If you elect to pay month to month it will be $7 or $84 per year. If you pay a year upfront it will cost $60. The mastercard promo gives you premium membership for the first year (eg. $60 value).

  • Your calculations for the shipping example should include the 30% discount which then puts the myus prices to $52.50 which maybe a better deal when factoring in the no dimension aspect of the deal!

    • I don't think so, the pricing I quoted was from the page which highlighted the "reduced Premium member pricing" which is the amount I quoted above.

      • Yeah not very clear, although the 30% off shipping charges as per the mastercard promo do not match the discount on shipping that the premium column indicates.

  • What is this if you have a debit or credit card you get free membership of myus?
I used these guys for years about 15 yrs ago when they just started up but stopped after a while as did not need it anymore.
But probably was onca special rate as was one of the first.
But i read a lot of bad feedback about them if true of not im not sure.
They where great for me back then maybe changed owners who knows.

Just got off chat with a rep. I can confirm that the 30% discount applies to the rate that is listed on the online calculator…

"Yes, you would get 30% off of the shipping rate listed on the online rate calculator"

  • This is offered now and then. I took it up when it was 2 years free but even then didn't bother using it - the shipping costs were still too high compared to others.

  • Discounts are nice, but their costs are super high. $46.20 AUD (after discount) to ship a 0.52 kg item from the states? no thanks. Anyone know who is cheaper?

  • I'd like to know any cheap rate to get a plushy-kangaroo from WA to FL/USA…I don't want to completely ruin it by smashing/compressing it just to reduce the box size! It weighs next to nothing…sigh….

    • Find a mate who's flying over and will take it

      • Lol,

Do you know? I have a friend who is now planning to visit so I'll do that (assuming she has space in her luggage).

Otherwise, I donate it at Xmas to a toy drive here (just that kangaroo toys aren't as thrilling in AU).

        Ta!
