Doesn't Chainsaw or Line Trimmer already come with a battery and charger or are they skin only ?

    • +2

Console in post suggests skin only

      • +1

        my bad…

Wii Console is not the same as Wii Skin…

      Buy four skins. Only $200

      • I got a free foreskin after my bah mitvah

        • It wasn't free…

        • +1

would be like Theon greyjoy after the chainsaw got to it.

        • @jv:

          Great discovery Archimedes

  • Good deal*, assuming it is local to QLD or even SEQ.

Love to know whether this is available at NSW stores.

    • edit: idea, what was I typing.
  • Bunnings Ashfield NSW has them for $99 won't budge on price.

    • Thats poor of them!

    • +20

      won't budge on price.

start one up instore and grin at the staff… that might do it…

  • Perfect for cleaning up after storm in NSW lately

    • +5

Not sure if it will cut through masonry to clean up the part remaining of the house that washed away……

      • +3

Depends how much house is remaining. I reckon you'll get maybe 2 or 3 good whacks at it before it dies. We're talking about the line trimmer, yeah? 😉

  • Top deal on the chainsaw. Cheap and effective Halloween prop.

  • They're skin only. I bought the last line trimmer at Penrith yesterday, I missed out on the chainsaw by a day. There's a couple of batteries left and a charger. Apparently the Kobalt 80v products are compatible

    • the kobalt and victa batteries are not the same.
the grooves are a different depth so they cannot be used on the others products.
i have the kobalt mower and bought a victa skin previously thinking it would fit but ended up returning it to bunnings as i wasn't able to find any victa 80v batteries locally.

      • You can modify the battery cover to fit as posted in another bargain

        • really? anyone have the link? very interested!

        • +1

          @misguided_will:
I Purchased the Kobalt mower and trimmer from Masters when they were half price. I then saw the Victa Blower and chainsaw skins at Bunnings for $99. I bought them both and then used a small chisel to remove the serrated channel and solid channel from the battery compartment of the skins. The Kobalt batteries then fit in easily and won't pop out.

  • how long is battery life?

      150 haircuts

      • +1

        Using chainsaw or Trimmer?

  • +1

    $50 for 160 WH 80V battery,
    Is that good?
two together would make a fairly decent battery pack for an ebike

The 1200 W electric chainsaw motor could be fun, but illegal on the road.

    • +1

It would actually be 72V nominally (80V Max), so the real number would be 144Wh. But yes, that's a helluva lot of Li-ion juice for $50.

      • This! Just thought about the uses to pimp my electric scooter

  • my bunnings have the chainsaw for $99. no batteries in stock though.

cordless is good but if you're out doing some emergency cutting in a storm, obviously use a gas one.

    • Didn't know they ran on gas.

  • +3

If anyone has got the chainsaw, blower at the further discounted prices in VIC, would appreciate if you could upload the receipt. My bunnings is at $99 for the blower and $99 for the charger too.. Thanks!

    • -1

      which masters?

  • +1

    anyone see it in vic?

  • The Chainsaw Console is a cut down of the the Arcade version.

  • +1

No more chainsaw and line trimmer stock left at Underwood. 2 batteries and a charger left

  • Could someone kindly upload the receipt so that the rest of us get a chance to price match? Thanks!!

  • +2

Receipt as requested, hope it helps.

Keysboroough only a couple of chainsaws, batterys and chargers. Would only match 50 dollars on chainsaw. Batterys still 99 wouldn't. Budge after the guy called up someone

Fountain gate only a couple left of each. Initially wouldn't budge from the 99 dollars, requested he called someone and victolia. See receipt.

    • Now all I need is a garden. :\

      • you can borrow some of my mine. I got 396,000 sq metre house block

    • Thanks so much for that, appreciated!

  • Chainsaw < reciprocating saw

They matched the $50 in the Rockdale store and sold me the blower for $50 as well. Thanks OP.

    • nice work. anything left? did you have to show a receipt to get it?

    • Made a bargain with my local that if the one left I still there after the weekend then the Underwood price will probably be matched.

Rockdale is good for price match though. Got your receipt you can upload for other plebs to try it?

      • I just went to Caringbah Bunnings tonight and got $50 off the battery, but nothing off chainsaw or charger.

There is 1 charger, several batteries, the chainsaw on the shelf, and one strimmer.

You might be able to bargain on the chainsaw price as I didn't see a box for it.

If any store has any left, the fact the clearance is a month old should be leverage for a discount.

Thanks Op, bought the blower, trimmer and chainsaw for $50 each at port Melbourne store. The guy said not to tell any of my friends to come and ask for the same price then said "no seriously don't ask them to come" so he may get touchy if someone else produces the fountain gate receipt!

Then went to highpoint and grabbed a $50 battery. There were none on the shelf but a brown cardboard box full of them on the top rack. Lucky I am tall and managed to get hold of it. Left the rest up there for fellow ozbargainers. No charges will try using the kobalt..

1 x 80v line trimmer on display, loads of blowers and chainsaws at highpoint. Only line trimmers and chainsaws left at port Melbourne this morning.

    • +1

The Kobalt charger won't work with the Victa battery. I tried.

You can amend the console of the victa units to accept Kobalt batteries, which is what I did with the blower and it works just fine.

      • can you modify the kobalt to take victa batteries instead?

        • I didn't check that, but it probably would. I had 2 batteries from the Kobalt mower so I was locked into Kobalt.

        • @butterbuts: Late message but using an angle grinder with grinding disc I widened the 2 x wide slots on the victa battery and it now works with Kobalt charger and mower..

  • If anyone managed to get the battery for $50 in VIC (aside from fountain gate which is sold out) pls share the invoice so I can price match in the same store.. Cheers

  • Just got the Victa 80V charger today. Tried charging and the fan on the charger is very noisy. Is this normal?

  • i picked up the chainsaw and charger for $50 and $30 from waurn ponds VIC. but no batteries in my area, anyone feel like selling me a battery?

  • There's a few chainsaws batteries and chargers on spring-like road near dingley

They didn't have an issue matching the receipt posted above

  • Hey guys there is still stock out there, picked up the blower today at Dandenong using the FG receipt, 50 bucks no problems, girl didn't bat an eye. I have the Kobalt chainsaw set already, scored it on clearance for $170 so just wanted a cheap blower to use with my batt/charger. Chiseling the rails down is easy as the previous poster showed. Works perfect!

I sent a mate in to Pakenham today, he scored the blower and their last battery for $50 each and would you believe Pakenham were selling the chargers for 13 bucks!! No stock though so he went back to Feral Gate, got the manager to call the Pakenham manager and we scored 2 chargers for 26 bucks!
I now have a spare one in case my Kobalt charger ever dies. Easy enough to swap the cases over from the kobalt to the brand new victa one.

He also found a battery in FG, but when he was getting the stuff down off the shelf one of the staff came up and said sorry that's for a customer and took it off him. He then went to Cranbourne and found a battery, Exactly the same thing happened!! Fukers are trying to hide the batteries due to the $50 pricing.

I will wait until Masters decides to give up on the kobalt sale and clearance the remainder, as all their products come with batt/charger in the box they all have piles of spare batteries and chargers on the shelf. I would rather get another kobalt battery and keep the batts the same now I have modded the blower. Of course if they drop the line trimmer down to around 150 I would just get that as it has batt n charger already.

Call me insane but I couldn't help going back to bunnings and grabbing a Victa chainsaw skin for 50 bucks! I figured the Oregon bar and chain was easily worth that as spare parts, and now I have a complete motor unit spare for the future.

  • Oh and personally I wouldn't modify the battery case, better to modify the skin slot, the blower is simple, the chainsaw is a little more solid in the molding, dremel with flex cable and a steady hand will trim out one side of the molding allowing the kobalt pack to slide in tightly.
