It has a drilling capacity of 8mm for steel and 15mm for wood, so it’s guaranteed to do whatever job you set it. The charger is compatible for 230-240V and at 50Hz. It has an impressive charging time between three to five hours and 21 torque settings plus a drill. The keyless drill chuck capacity is 0.8 to 10mm. click and collect available in North Lakes QLD

    • Hey mate, how'd you go? I ordered click and collect at 2:30pm yesterday, had a missed call from them at 7:30 last night which was to tell me that they didn't have any left.

      • Didn't order one. just checking local stock levels.

  • +1

Bought one with the Click-and-Collect option from Adelaide Airport. $17.50 is a bargain. Thanks, OP. :)

  • Good price. too bad I have a working drill…

    • +2

Should buy for when working drill breaks

    • Not in the true spirit of OzBargain

  • Can anyone comment on this drill, does the odd house jobs ok?

    • +10

If it can't do that, then it can't do anything, so I'd say yes.

    • +1

I don't have this particular one, but I have another 909 cordless drill with two Li-on batteries. At this price it is worth it.

    • +1

i have the 20V version of this drill and it's pretty gutless… but then again at this price it's still worth buying if you dont already have a drill.

    • What, you don't know the drill?

  • Already have four drills but bought this anyway.

  • +5

    Comes with 2 batteries too

  • +1

    got one from box hill

    • +1

      Ditto.

  • Brought one from Hoppers Crossing store. I was looking for this kind of deal from very long….

    • did you mean from Williams Landing?

      I bought one too yesterday….

  • Bought it, going to collect tonight after work.

Have a good Corded drill, just thought I'd get one for cordless work.

  • +1

Thanks bought - click n collect from Hawthorn East VIC

Can't hurt to have more drills I guess…

  • +1

    Thanks op, bought one.

Can't go wrong with a $17 bux drill

  • Surely this is considered a DUPE?

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/250877

Deal is not even expired, same drill, same price, same vendor.

    • The title of that one was revised, I checked before posting and that deal was for $35.

      • No you didn't. Last edited 2nd June.

      • The title of that one was revised,

        Not the price.

I checked before posting and that deal was for $35

No you didn't, and no it wasn't.

        [wink]

        • I did check, perhaps I misread.

          I'll request deletion then.

          @ezarc:

I think error was due to not sorting by DATE, like this….

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/search/node/909+14.4v?s=t

I've found the default "relevance" sort order is usually quite misleading.

        • +1

          @llama:
Yeah it was the 3rd one there I saw for $35, I didn't see the $17.50 one.

Well hopefully a few people noticed it this time around as the last one only got 4 votes.

I've marked this as expired and requested deletion already.

        • +2

          @ezarc:

Thanks for bringing it to our attention… regardless of duplicate

  • +1

This would have been good for all the times your friends and family ask, "Hey, can I borrow your drill?".

    • +1

I currently have a $15 12V Kmart NiCD one for that. Bloody hopeless, like all these cheap drills… slow to charge, slow rpm. The NiCD is extra-annoying as it self-discharges so fast that you need to recharge it prior to every use.

The Lithium is a big improvement for occasionally used tools, because it'll almost always have at least some charge on it. I went to my local Masters (Northmead in Sydney suburbs) and there was none of these 909 ones.

      • +1

aaarrrrggghhhh, should I buy one?…..aaaarrrrrggghhhhhhh…. i gota corded drill, extension leads an' all the gear… it's done me well over the years…..aaarrgrghhhhhh….. can't decide!!!

  • +1

cheers OP. just ordered one at Adelaide

  • Why expired, just got one at box hill?

    • Read above as to why I marked it as expired, but it looks like a mod/admin made it unexpired.

      • Should be a dupe.

        • I can't delete the post, I reported it and marked it as expired.

        • +2

@ezarc: Since this one got more views and votes then it should be left as it's, and perhaps the previous one mentioned/acknowledged or something. By the end of the day, the ultimate goal here is a bargain by any means necessary.

          @AussieDaddy:
Mods have updated the first post, it looks like they will leave this deal active.

        • @ezarc: Good news. :)

  • +1

I have never heard of this brand, have you try using Op? is it any good?

    • +1

Order one anyway, if it is not good I will give it away

    • +1

I haven't used one, I have a Makita 10.8V that I never use. If it wasn't 150km+ round trip I wouldn't hesitate to buy one though.

For $17 you can't go wrong I reckon, 909 products have a 909 day warranty (about 2.5 years), if you get that long out of it then it should pay for itself easily and if not then you could get replacements.

      Product page: http://909.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=y…

      Warranty info: http://909.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=…

      • Thanks for the info

      • Warranty 909 days… or until Masters collapse!

        • @ezarc: It was tongue in cheek, but I'll be interested to see if 909 stay around in Australia if Masters go.

        • +1

@ozdavo: Ah OK, anyway it sucks that Masters is going to go down the drain.

It looks like 909 is in the process of setting up a online shop via their website but I don't think many people are going to think of going there to buy tools. Maybe they will have to set up a eBay shop or something.

  • Silly question, with the click and collect, how many days do I have before I have to collect it?

    • I have found Masters are ready within a few hours, especially now that they are generally winding down… That said, you should wait for the email, which, with admin time and everything, can be the next day.

    • One time I did click and collect on a washing machine and called them and told them I can't pick it up for 1 week and they said its fine.

Another time I bought a fridge and they held it for 2 weeks before I could pick it up, however I called to after buying it online too just to make sure its OK.

  • Can this drill be used as screw driver…i am a first time buyer for this

    • Should work fine, just change the torque setting starting at the lowest to start out to get the feel of it and crank it up from there.

  • Is this variable speed?
    Does it have hammer function?

    • Yes its variable speed, no its not a hammer driver.

    • Variable speed? Has a drill been made in the last 20 years without this?

      • I accidentally bought a cheapie cordless drill from Kmart a few years ago that was single speed.
It was returned the next day

  • +1

Comes down to $16.60 if you happen to have a trade member card. That's a saving of another 90 cents. Yay!

    • +1

Paid $16.54 with 5.5% off Wish cards.
Also CashRewards etc for extra savings.

    • +1

BTW there were at least 40 units available at Masters Chullora at 5pm

  • +1

Just ordered one for pickup. I don't have a drill so may be a good idea to get this one.

  • +1

Thank OP, needed a cheap second drill to do a small job.

  • +2

Have just received an email from Masters. The order is ready to be collected already. Awesome!

    • +1

      That was quick.

      • +1

Yeah, it was. I am about to go to pick another online order from Woolworths so that makes it even easier for me; just do one trip to pick both items (Woolies is right behind the airport). :)

    • May depend on store - my confirmation email took 2 hours, no SMS yet. Still shows Order Being Processed in account.

  • Got my notification that its ready for pick up too :) will go tomorrow

  • Can't repack a battery for that price. What cells are in these might be worth buying for that alone?

  • +3

OP's deal is much cheaper than 1 spare battery:-
    https://www.masters.com.au/product/100416610/909-14-4v-lithi…

  • I had a missed call/voice mail from my local store, saying they needed to speak to me about my order. I'm guessing by the time they picked my order there was none left. Meh, I'll call them in the morning.

  • Noob question, does it come with Drills or they needed to be bought separately?

    Bought one from Chullora NSW.

    • +1

It doesn't come with drill bits, just the drill, 2 batteries and a charger.

  • only available for click and collect and only at one store

  • Just picked up 2 from Hawthorn East (didn't need to click and collect). 4-5 remaining

  • bought a 909 254 mitre saw. It has a tiny 16mm spindle that doesn't fit any of my blades. Anyone know where I could get an adapter bush/ washer / ring with a 25.4mm outer and obviously 16mm centre

  • +3

Perfect for the corn cob challenge

  • good price.

but look at the size of that battery.

  • picked up one in masters south morang this morning, there are still a few boxes left at that time, but they didn't label this product is on sale, the price tag is still 35ish, very cunning

  • Small amounts of stock still available.

    Try the following stores:
    MACKAY QLD
    ROBINA QLD
    RUTHERFORD NSW
    TAREE NSW
    GREGORY HILLS NSW
    WEST GOSFORD NSW
    HEATHERBRAE NSW
    LISMORE NSW
    HOXTON PARK NSW
    ST MARYS NSW

  • Just picked one up from Hoxton Park. Will be taking it back tomorrow as the keyless chuck is stuck. I'm guessing they gave me previously returned stock or display stock.

  • +2

Ordered 2 got my confirmation, went in but they only had 1 zzz. Hopeless

    • +1

That is pathetic of them. Have a +.

  • Someday my refund will come.
