or the 16db gain for $8.34 from ebay…..

      or just get a replacement antenna(without base) 10db for ~$3.30 .

I went with the second option on my router, and on my desktop based PC's wireless network adapters…. the result was effectively a doubling of the transfer speed….the cheapest way by far for extending your wireless range and speed.

I purchased the first 16 dbi one and found it to be utterly useless.. Must have increased the noise floor or something (tries to remember back to my second and third year electronics courses)

        • I second this.

It actually gives WORSE performance than the stock shortie 1/4 wave whatever antenna that came with my router. This was measured with remote signal strength and raw data throughput. It halved both.

      • Probably because that is not anywhere near 16dbi. A 16dbi omni is a lot larger than that. That one is 7 at most.

        The second one also isn't a 10, it's a 5.

  • I am intending to buy the NB6+4w
    Brick house, modem is downstair
laptop is 20m away and upstair.

has anyone used NB6+4W and will I need a one of these booster ?

  • Can someone please give me a recommendation for an antenna that actually is a booster rather than an attenuator. I've tried 2 eBay specials so far, but they have both attenuated by 15 to 20dBi vs the stock antenna on my router.
