Yep same. I got two WD Red 4TB drives. Didn't realise that they had the 8TB version in stock. Would have purchased this one instead.
I didn't even know the 8TB reds had one out. I'd buy a couple but haven't had confirmation that my Nas will support this drive (though I don't see why not). Other pro let with buying this is what to do with the 4TB reds I currently have!

Yeah it's not great they bump up the prices, but it's still better than paying $520 odd. But always remember the golden rule of purchasing hard drives or memory, never buy unless you need it right now. Otherwise you end up with a cupboard full of unused hard drives and memory cards.
Very true, almost forgot the golden rule with storage… Still have an emergency 3TB red sitting around for my NAS, was buying as a just incase I needed a space upgrade. Will reassess when the next sale comes around again. Thanks…

I had the 3TB Red drive on my Ebay watch list, pretty sure they jacked the price up by $10.
