Bought this for the kids to play in. Hard to set up and one of the loops on the bottom of the tent ripped as I was putting it up. The tent pegs wouldn't stay in the ground and as soon as there was a slight gust of wind the thing blew away.

    • The tent pegs aren't up to scratch so I just bought a bag of proper tent pegs from Bunnings for $5. Have to disagree with reviewer that the tent was hard to set up. It couldn't be easier, about a 5 minute job. My nine year old son could do it by himself easily.

      • yeah, aluminium tent pegs are NEVER good enough

this does not seem like a good idea

You also need to be under 6 foot tall be able to lie down in it comfortably…

Yeah and be single, no 2 person tent is actually made for 2 people :P

      • +1

Actually, it's wide enough for 2 people that like each other enough to go camping together. Your stuff will have to sit outside though.

        • Your stuff will have to sit outside though.

Defeats the purpose unless you're really away from civilisation!

Also something I just noticed with the size (183cm), most air-mattresses seem to be minimum 185-188cm long. Gonna be interesting squeezing into this if you want something other than just a sleeping bag!

Many people use a simple 2-man like this to store the stuff in, so that the main 'sleeping tent' can be small and intimate!

Gotta think outside the square (tent)!

          I'm over 6' tall, there's intimate and there's sardine tin :P

          @Spackbace:

Your esky, bags, folded chairs, gas bottles, eneloops, etc will easily fit in this toy tent. You then sleep in a proper tent, with a fly, ground sheet, etc.

This cheapy is ideal for "the rest of the junk" that inevitably gets taken along. That way you don't need a huge main tent to house everything! Remember, it's floor space that's at a premium when using tents.

We always do it this way (with a small utility tent), it's much better than shuffling stuff around in one tent just to find somewhere to sleep. We even set up a portable washing line (stand thingy) inside our small tent, so we can dry things without leaving outside in open view.

        • or they're cheap enough.. you buy two! one for the people, one for the gear :)

Thanks, there's some people I don't like and their birthdays are coming up. Bought 5!

    • +1

Great idea. They will hate you for that and never have to see them again.

This is a perfect sleeping place when in that moment one realized how much $$$ already spent on Ozbargain and what the wife gonna do with such action

on their site for a reason

  • I bought one of these over a year ago. Warning - it's really not long enough for adults, unless you suffer from dwarfism. Decent for anyone under 5 feet though.

Only fits 69 but not 66 or 99,

I'm thinking monty has a whole list of deals to post after 6 months

These are the Condom of tents….only good for one erection.

    • +2

Nah I got it up twice so far…

      • That reviewer in QLD got it up, then it got blown…

      • still good after a good blow?

    • Rather save on condoms than the tent.

      • but you can't fit two people in a condom, even if they like each other very much

  • I bought two of these camo tents last time this deal posted and took them camping in the Blue Mountains this April. I'm six foot and just fit by sleeping on the diagonal. My nine year old son slept on a 185cm long stretcher and he also just fit. They truly are a toy tent. We had perfect weather conditions of a still night and no rain so were fine. However any rain or wind and you will soon be in camping misery.
