Ryobi 350W Bandsaw $129 (Normally $299) @ Bunnings Warehouse

1260

Was going to compare the specs of the Aldi Bandsaw that is on sale this weekend, and found that Bunnings had gone ahead and reduced the price of their Ryobi Bandsaw to the same price which means a saving of over 50%! Great deal as this has a more powerful motor as well.

Not sure how long this will last but probably only while Aldi has theirs for sale (this weekend).

I just picked one up at Thomastown, there was one more left.

What you want is called a drop-saw

      • No problems thanks for the suggestion.

        • I personally have a 11 year old Ozito Slide Compound Mitre Saw and it has done me very well over the years and was a great price back then.
(in fact I didn't even realize it was a Ozito till I just checked what brand it was today lol)

        • @AMLagonda: Negged for stating the obvious about Ozito gear. Thanks champ. You should put a little note on your posts that tell ppl not to have a different opinion. Mine based on experience, also.

As a chippy I can tell you that Ozito gear is pretty nasty stuff. I don't know how much your gonna spend on your deck, but a coupla hundred more for a decent bit of kit will be a solid investment. Probably the most usefull of all power saws, bar the hand-held circular.

  • might have to grab one of these for model aircraft building… And a scroll saw when they are on sale too… Both finger severing specialty saws by the look of em.

Why can't I buy one in WA at this price? Regional pricing STINKS

    • -1

You can… Just select a Melbourne store and do click & collect…

      • Never seen click and collect at Bunnings……

        • +2

You must be in WA then…

          @jv:
          Indeed.
That's a good option to C&C. Almost keeping up with everyone else……

There's a few reviews of the equivalent US model on Youtube. This is the best one I could find:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cei9QEO5DNU

Just don't panic when you hear the intro music at the start of the video, the rest of the review isn't that bad :)

    • Now I feel like I need a drill press too!

    • Believe the model at bunnings comes with the ripping fence and work light, which I cannot see in the US review.

Have also read that a 10mm blade makes this alot more stable, less prone to wandering

  • Picked up one from Campbelltown. There was the display model left. Perhaps more stock out back but nothing left on shelf

  • No show in Perth, still $299. What a shame, I would have grabbed one right now. Oh well.

    • Have you asked if they can price match Victoria?

  • Just reserved one at Penrith, to pick up after work tonight. Woohoo!

Why do I do this to myself

  • Got 1 from North Lakes Bunnings Qld. 1 left on shelf.

  • I got similar model from Aldi last year. It's not very precise and needs some tuning but cuts well and good for not critical jobs. The thickest I could cut with it is about 5cm of hardwood (very slowly).

  • Thanks. Just picked one up from Kotara NSW.

  • Grabbed one from Eltham this morning, there was 1 left under the bench and the display model.

  • Still 2 left in Wollongong

    • Staff advised no stock left at Wollongong now.

  • pm if anyone wants one. likely going in later. pickup west footscray.

I think I took the last one off the shelf in Collingwood, but they might have one out the back. Interesting item to take home on the train. Website says 16kg. Box says 19.6kg.

30m of rope costs $6 if you have a need to manhandle it like I do.

    • I went in around 1.15pm and they ran out. What time did you get yours?

  • Just grabbed one from the Toowoomba Bunnings, was the last one but the Ryobi rep was there and heard him saying to the staff that he had another in the car if they wanted it and they were working out how to update stock when I left. So provided they worked out how to do the stock transfer there should be one there now.

  • Thanks OP, grabbed one, staff advised no stock left at Wollongong store.

  • Thanks OP, got one from Tuggeranong, ACT. None left.

  • Thanks OP. Got the last one from Alexandria. Was looking at getting one of these two days ago for a present. Glad I held off. Perfect timing!

  • two left at bunnings rocklea

  • Picked up last one from Greenacre NSW. Rockdale had a display left and he was happy to give that to me for $100 but didn't end up going there if anyone is still looking for one.

  • There's a few left at Werribee. Probably a few left at Hoppers Crossing too I'm guessing.

  • Ryobi advise that the only replacement blade available from Bunnings is 6.5mm. They do not list an 3.2 mm for small curve work. The blade is an unusual length (1752mm) and a "generic" brand is almost 1/3 the cost of the saw. So saw is ok for rough work only. Aldi's lower powered unit looks a better deal.

Gave it a run today. Cuts through a 50mm pine sleeper like a hot knife through butter.
How are you guys hooking up your vacuum? The hole is too big to fit the hose on my shopvac.

  • Confirmed back to $299 now. Great deal!

    • For a day or two, now it isn't listed on their website - strange.
