Pro Tab 32GB 10.1" Windows Tablet & Keyboard $174.30 @Target (in-Store)

30

This is a tablet that you would not want to buy for $299, but at $174.30 for a 10.1" 2 in 1 FULL WINDOWS 8.1 tablet, with a heavy and crappy keyboard, local Target generous return policy, it is hard not to take a look. I was surprised even with just 1G RAM, it is still snappy. The screen resolution is a bit low, but for media consumption and light browsing and some light work, it looks good. The quality of the display is also bright and crisp at 1280x800px. Offered to update to Windows 10 after setting up but will not proceed as it is too low specs for Windows 10.

Currently no stock from online but have seen lots of them still taking up space in the glass cabinet of Carlingford Court NSW, Parramatta Westfield NSW. The 8" Windows tablet is going for $90.30 too.

  • i thought win 10 will run better than 8.1, less resources needed.

hows the battery life, would you get more than 3-4 hours of normal browsing etc.

    • +1

I have tested many similar specs hardware up to 2G RAM in Windows 10, non of them perform better than Windows 8.1

      • thanks.

Battery life not sure yet, still charging….

    • Nope, that is 2G RAM model, and for $299, there should be better options.

was 175 for 2 gig version laser tab (without keyboard)

windows 10 with 2 gig ram is quite good

got the chuwi dual boot, running android can be hot on intel chip
but running on windows 10 is not that hot, maybe more efficient?

  • I bought the version of this tablet with Win10 already on it (for $104), worked ok until Windows updates ran and started getting ghost touches all over the screen making it unusable. Buyer beware. Good thing Target has a good return policy. Went with Lenovo A10-30 as replacement.

    • How did you get $104?

    • yeah got the A10-30 too.

loading files and installing a bit slow (due to snapdragon 212's instruction set than the frequency)
once loaded up, everything is good

    • That is a problem with lot of less known brand windows tablets. If you roll back touch screen drivers, that will fix the issue but when ever windows updates, touch drivers go crazy. I Think permanent fix is to install all the updates and use keyboard and mouse to uninstall touch drivers and install them from exe file.

  • The 32GB on board storage gives you all the room you need for files, apps, music and video

So how much is left after Winders + Virtual Memory? 5GB?

    • 20GB left out of the box.

1GB RAM for Windows x86, are you kidding me?

I have 4 tabs opened simultaneously playing youtube videos still not laggy. But different people will have different requirements.

    • Windows 8.1 has been optimised to run on 1GB of RAM. Runs significantly better than Windows 7.

      • wait to you get Windows 95 on it…it screams!

        • My touch screen won't respond on win95…..

  • Current unavaible online

  • How good is this tablet once the wifi is turn on ? I have a Nexus 7 which runs fairly fast when the wifi is off, but when the wifi is on … that is another different story.

    • I don't know how wifi slows down your tablet. I had nexus 7 2013 edition. It was same with wifi on and off. Maybe you got some background processes.

      • I wish I know the answer too …
