  • It's only available in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide - not all states.

    • sorry, was exicted hehehe

  • can you register for multiple restaurants? I don't see anything stopping you.

    • read the terms and conditions, seems like they'll disqualify you if you do that

      • If you're really stingey and want those free lunches, I would point out that all that is required is to present a printed copy of the email. The rest is up to you to figure out ;)

        • Actually you don't need to carry anything except some ID. Your name is registered for one location and they tick off your name when you collect.

  • this is a great freebie !!!

  • free lunch?

  • aww i cud only book for the one at mcmahon point - il locale blue.

Gotta cross the damn harbour bridge (and pay toll?)

  • Not worth paying the $8-$20 parking fee in the city for me to go and collect this sandwich. All the places in Brisbane are in the city. I'll pass.

    • James St. is in New Farm - it has free parking.

And there is something called street parking :) There are also plenty of loading zones near E'cco.

  • No such thing as a free lunch.

12 comments and nobody has explained the free lunch redemption process. Poor

    • Why dont u just find that out your self and contribure?? poor

    • do you want us to spoon feed you the sandwich as well? poor.

I'm curious. Why do you demand others do the job for you when you exactly contributed anything meaningful to Ozbargain? Very interesting about your thought processes.

    • Don't worry, if you can't collect, that's one less person in the queue when I collect. lol!

This deal is pretty funny tbh

i would except it's quite an effort to show up to a location which you would not normally go to, sit down awkwardly knowing that everyone around you is as cheap as you are.

    • We're all cheap :D

    • How do you know they will seat you? The location near me is a well-known restaurant. It's also possible they will put up a booth outside and hand out the sandwiches in paper bags or something like that.

    • Well. my location is only just a block away (Melbourne one is in CBD location, two popular restaurants). Who cares if everyone is there for the deal? Its like you have self-esteem issues if that is a factor in taking up this deal?

  • Addelaide's weather was just a bit overcast today, but it didn't dampen the spirits of lunchers or staff, as we met friends over Lunch on Lawson's.

AND - on Day & Lunch 1 of 2 - everyone got a loaf of Lawson's great bread… In Adelaide, the parking can be free, if you hunt (unlike our Sydney siders…). Was a great deal for anyone working at, say, UniAdel, UniSA or the RAH.

All the Botanic Gardens' staff &/or tradies walked away with a loaf & a sandwich in the belly.

PS If you're trying to keep Kosher or you'ra a vegetarian NO LUCK… today's 'wiches ALL the SAME & ALL had HAM in 'em, :-(

"ANY COLOR YOU LIKE, AS LONG AS IT'S -PINK- (ie, basic Pig's Bum ;-)"

    • I'm off to Cos on Leigh St today for my free sandwhich. Should take a photo of it - Anyone know how to upload photos to ozbargain?

  • Well that sandwich was delicious! Well done and a big thank you to Lawsons and the staff at Cafe Fibonacci. The loaf was a bonus. Had to laugh at all the people walking back to their workplaces with Lawson's bread under their arm - great advertising.

  • so what happens?
do you go there and takeaway the sandwich? or is it a sit down lunch thing (if you want)

    • Its just a pickup point. Walk up, get name ticked off list, get sandwich, maybe get loaf of bread free too. Eat sandwich. Smile. YUUUMMMM.

      • where does it say you'll get loaf of bread? is that just up to the venue?

  • yay got mine confirmed ready to chow down at bluestone next month

  • I guess it's alright if the location is a takeaway place, but if it's a restaurant and they actually seat you down, do you then expected to pay for other stuff? Or the whole lunch is on Lawsons?

Either Vivo or Ice Cube is convenient, it would be a nicely walk to Darling Harbour.

    • It's a sandwich. Nothing else is expected. Whole lunch on lawsons? wtf

    • If it is a restaurant they will have a table setup out the front or something like that with 100 sandwiches in brown paper bags ready to go. Walk up, get name ticked off, take sandwich, go.

  • Just got mine from E'cco in Brisbane today. We parked in the loading zone for 1 min while we grab and go. Sandwich was delicious and staff were very friendly. We also got a free loaf of bread that came in a Lawsons carry bag. Fantastic experience! :)

  • Just got it from Blustone, Melbourne today. Sandwich is okay - hey it's a free lunch! - but it's prawn and lettuce and there's like two prawns in the whole thing! I would have been happy with even a simple egg sandwich :P

I saw the loaves of bread there as well, but wasn't sure whether they were for the taking!

    • Also got ours from Bluestone today. Pretty average sandwhich tbh. Absolutely nothing like the one on the website!!!

Mind you probably more to do with Bluestone than Lawsons.

Picked up my free lunch @ Universal Restaurant (Melbourne) today, and though they had a clipboard for signing off names, they were only interested in collecting the printed emails initially (presumably they go back and cross-check later) so I could have handed them anything, since all they saw was an A4 page folded in eighths…

As per previous reports, all sandwiches were the same (beef, salsa, lettuce, cheddar, onion) though the little booklet with the sandwich inside the paper bag indicates there's a signature sandwich type at each restaurant. So, for those in Sydney (the only location left), here's what you're going to get…

    • Thanks for the info. I'm looking forward to my pulled pork sandwich. Can't argue with a free lunch. Yum!

This was our sandwich from E'cco Bistro. Absolutely delicious! I wish they'll have the promotion again! :)

The 'Lawson's Bresaola, Tomato Pickle, Rocket & Horseradish Cream "Sarnie" from E'cco Bistro in Brisbane.

    • Lawson's Homestead Seed & Grain
    • Bresaola
    • Tomato pickle
    • Rocket lettuce
    • Horseradish cream
  • it is possible that your wish has come true
