Does this include a specific Montague Street bridge avoidance course?

  • +3

Its disturbing that the folks wanting to drive a 40 tonne truck on our streets are looking to "turn their life around".

    • +2

      Only in Australia!

    • +4

It's much easier to turn a car around than a truck

    • +1

i met many truck drivers who wanted to turn around their lives as the pay and conditions were not desirable. Any Courses for that?

  • Hi KaptnKaos: I can ask and get back to you but to find out quicker call Steven on 0433 672 419 he will know straight away.

  • At sillyhead, some people need a good income to change their position in life, and a truck licence can give that to them. don't be too tough :-p

  • Sorry guys… NSW only
He is based in Sydney but does travel around NSW

  • I thought you cannot upgrade from C to HR class in one go. Are you going through LR/MR first?
Edit: MB, its HC not HR with restrictions.

    • yes you can :)

      • +1

        Sounds like a worry.

        • Why? The difference between a HR and MR is nowhere near as different as C to MR. And baby steps (c - LR - MR - HR etc) is just silly. If you cant drive HR you should probably stick to cars, or take the train.

C - HR - HC - MC is is a decent graduation. They still make a distinction between synchro and RR. HR Synchro or HR RR. Back in the day I was working in oil refineries in Vitoria and I went from C to HA (now called HC). I learned on Road Rangers, but there was no requirement too. The company I worked for, all the staff were hopeless at driving the RR truck. Constantly stopping between gears to start over again in the middle of traffic. Thats why I went for mine, no clutch. I was the one they called to shift the rig between sites.

  • +1

Yes you can upgrade to heavy rigid in one go if you have the confidence and are able to double clutch, Hence the lessons
Don't know if I agree with the high paying bit, until you get HC licence. (Semi) even then they will push you to do interstate work, and that means days, weeks on the road and waiting at loading docks for a slot, to make decent money

  • the website has a huge lack of information

  • +1

What's up with the shonky website? There is zero information. What about all the hidden costs the website isn't disclosing?

    • -1

There are no "hidden" costs. what is the purpose in this comment?

      • So for $690 you guys will keep training me until I get my license?

  • To get the discount you need to download the free PDF report http://www.truckability.com.au/nsw

this is a warning. the website asks for your name, email and phone. make sure you give them a fake email and phone. otherwise, they'll start sending an email, call you and a txt.

    • -1

Well of course we ask for your details..So why would you want to get the discount if you had no intention of being a customer? your strange.

      • Well of course we ask for your details.

i don't mind that you ask for my details. however, i do mind getting unsolicited email, phone call and txt after i provide those details.

        • however, i do mind getting unsolicited email, phone call and txt

How many have you gotten so far from these guys?

        • +1

          @OzBragain:

one email, one phone call and one txt.

        • @whooah1979:

That's a bit much on a Saturday arvo

  • if you're going to contact everyone that downloads the pdf, then be upfront and state on the webpage that you'll so.

  • So why would you want to get the discount if you had no intention of being a customer?

i wasn't looking at the discount at the time. i wanted to read the pdf.

  • Steven will train you until you CAN pass the test*.

    *Even if it takes months

Does this mean I would have to pay over and over? Or if I take the 1-day course and still need more training it is included?

    • majority of trainers charge a hourly rate if more time needed something like $110.00 of course the hidden cost is expected when there website has zero information a lack of information is a huge concern if your interested in doing it google search others and see how transparent they are with information and cost compared to truckability
