Can the mods please change the link? Because the title says US $50 but the link goes to the US $80 pack, and the thumbnail makes it look like you're getting a bargain for $50.

    • you could either pick the ready kit, or customize yourself. but i will edit it now.

      • Thanks

  • Can I use my harmony 650 remote to control kodi in this setup? Or do I need to by any other adapter. Basically interested in basic model If I can get my existing remote work.

  • OMG that remote is awful. You just want a simple remote for Kodi, something like the old Apple Remote, ideally,
Kodi is not designed to use a mouse/airmouse/touchpad either.

    (Use a regular keyboard for setup/config. )

  • These guys are good - just be weary of 2-3 weeks shipping, plus the Free shipping tracking doesn't really work. HK post just says "Item shipped to Australia".

    • Please track your order via http://www.17track.net
Ship from HongKong via HongKong post, normally 15 work days arrival.
if it exceed 20 work days, we guarantee compensation.

      • Ahh good to know. I wonder if you could put that in future order emails so customers know. I have received my goods :)

Do Aussie orders get a "5V 2.5A USB Charger Adapter AU Plug" instead of a 'US' one?
    Or at least an adapter?

    • you are right, please note that the charger can be replaced by a 5v 2.5A phone charger. and you can customize the kit.

I like the deal and the price, but much better gear available to run kodi.
Open elec is great for a dedicated deployment, however the Pi is for learning, why cripple it. Pi 3 with a decent os can run heaps like, couch potato, deluge, sick rage , bonjour server, kodi , tv server Ect.. Even plex.

While talking kodi, the Windows edition has gone downhill, plex without a season pass is a good alternative, runs great of a Telstra TV which would otherwise be in the bin.

Try trak.it to keep everything in sync.

    • You are right that there are much better gear available to run Kodi, but not sure about "cripple it"
You still have your raspberry pi 3 for learning even if you are done with Kodi.
This is for those who love DIY and take this as a project.

      • Sorry poorly worded, what I meant to suggest is, install something like raspbian on this and an entire world of opportunities open up.

    • What better gear would you recommend to run Kodi for less than $100?

      • Quite a few of the android devices from eBay are good, the Aldi player is also reasonable, or my pick is an Amazon Fire stick in that range, on sale around us $25 + shipping.

Although with effort for around $100 pick up the full Amazon Fire, or Google Nexus Player, both excellent devices, and wife friendly. Nexus is regularly on sale at hardly normal for $109 and comes with a great remote.

Pi 3 will do an excellent job with Kodi, I love my Pi. But for wife friendly both the nexus or fire get the thumbs up with bonus Netflix support, which is an issue with the PI.

      • you could try preinstalled MXQ TV player, it's around AU$40 from amazon.
