    Not a bargain IMO. G series for this price might have been a bargain.

    BTW, a similar TV, Samsung PS50A650 is $999 at DJ until 24/4.

      Samsung PS50A650 Power consumption: 550 W
      Pana 50" S10 Power consumption: 269 W

      The Samsung panel(generation) is probably 2 yrs old , compared to S10 which is 1 year old

        Hence I didn't make a new post for the Samsung as a bargain here. However, $350 cheaper than this S and being sub- $1k brand name 50" it's not too bad at all.

    I got this for $1300 last week at jb hifi pretty easily, paid extra $100 for 3 yrs warranty, used the platinum cc for an extra year so 4 yrs all up.

    A member on dtvforum showed me how to unlock the hidden menu that allows it to surpass the G series.

    I think the TH-P50S10A might have the black level firmware "bug"? (Supposedly the great black level achieved by 2008 & 2009 Panny plasmas is programmed to deteriorate after ~1000 hours - lots of discussion at AVS forum, DTV forum etc.) Definitely a case of DYOR to see if the problem is likely to worry you.
