@feihong: I think they mean the white DJS storecards, not the DJs AMEX.

        • @kerfuffle: That's good news, should be good then!

only 3 transactions per card? last time was 10.

    • +1

Last time was 10 in the month. This weekend seems like additional to the usual October promotion?

      • There's one in October too? Awesome! (usually it's November)

        • Sorry, I meant the month-long one on Oct/Nov. I wasn't sure which month.

  • +1

Has anyone had any success with these $10 statement credits with online purchases from participating merchants?

Online purchases, Gift Cards and returned, cancelled or refunded purchases are not eligible for this offer

      Out of luck. Soz

Who in Melbourne is going to get Emporium gift cards again?

    • me.

    • Me too, last time got 4 Emporium gift cards and then used them all at Nespresso when they had the bonus pods. Only way I have found to get a decent discount on the pods.

      • Try L'or
        Grinders
        Victoria
        Coles woolies stock em.
Under 50c per pod is a good start.

      • +1

Where do you purchase the gift cards from? Thanks

    • +1

I am trying to confirm if the Emporium GC is still eligible.. it came up on the search list but fails to show up on the map. Does anyone have any idea whether this means yay or nay?

    • Just check the list/map before shopping. A few stores in Melb that I used last time, I can no longer find them.

      • 6+ months on and im still disputing it - lol

        Their customer service response -

PJ O’Reilly’s – the Merchant Services investigated and have found that this merchant was not included in the Shop Small offer either on the map any time during the campaign. Therefore they have declined to apply the credit for this merchant.

Please note that the Shop small map is not definitive proof of a business’s participation in the Shop Small promotion it is still being updated even now and as such is not sufficient justification for credit to be issued after we have received official confirmation of its non-participation.

My response - So on your website you displayed this photo that i have attached with the question "how do i know which stores are participating in the shop small" Then it says there is a map that shows which places are particpating. So your website is contradicting with what you are telling me and I believe i should be entitled to the cashback.

Its funny cause that shop is still coming up on their shopsmall page……

        • Try FOS.

    • Anyone know if the emporium gift cards can be used at Uniqlo?

      • yes, it can

  • +1

Does anyone know if there is any reason why this wouldn't work with Entertainment Book vouchers?

For example go to a cafe, get 25% off, use Amex and get another $10 back?

    • +7

Certainly works - did it a few times last time for an eztra cheap meal

    • Should still work.
      Amex wouldnt know…
As long as $20+ in transaction

    • Who said it wouldn't work? The merchant doesn't know whether you have this cc deal or not.

    • Definitely works.. used it like this the last time Shop Small was active.
Just registered my 6 x cards look out!

  • +3
    • Wow that's incredible…

    • +6

Thanks for digging up one of my deals! The MYREWARD I posted was certainly one of the biggest bargains in AMEX's memory, and I can't believe it only got 36 +ve votes! I thought it was too good to be true so started late and only got about 300,000 points. One of my friends got about 800,000 points!

      • +5

        Nice one ;)

36 votes in 2008 is not the same as 36 votes in 2016 though.
It's like property. Those 36 votes would now be worth the equivalent of 360 now :P
Wait.. property doubles every 7-10 years.

But you get my point. There's inflation on Ozbargain too!

      • Found it

  • Does commbank amex work on these deals?

    • All amex work, amex issued or bank issued.

    • All AMEX cards should work, provided each individual card has been registered with this offer.

  • the page doesn't say where to register your amex ?

    • +2

      Wait till may 10th

    • +1

      read carefully

  • I presume it should work with Opal again? Opal is the only reason I get excited about this.

    • Depends on the small shop owner but yes.

      • Same as in November, might need to pay a dollar or two surcharge, still good.

  • Does the search function only works from 14th May? No small registered shops found in Gold Coast Qld.

  • Maybe there are small business tutors included, looks like a lot of people need it to help with their reading skills!

  • My facorite bar is a shop small bar! See you there!

  • Where can you find the list of businesses included?

    • +2

Check out the link. The businesses are all listed there once you search by location.

      • Thank you.

  • Awesome!

  • thanks OP

That amex shop small list is still a pain to go through… trying to find shops that was on in Nov2015 but now is not there.

Do you think we can use the merchant that is in Nov2015 over this one?

    e.g. from this thread https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/215492 ?

    • What do you reckon? Have a guess…

  • Tq for post

  • The tobacco station

  • where do you register? the website is not clear

    • +2

I don't think anybody has mentioned this yet.

      May 10.

      • +1

Sorry, I can't quite read that … could you make it a bit bigger and maybe in bolder text ? :)

      • -1

        I still can't see where :(

        • You must get your eyes checked

  • Hopefully they've fixed the participating lists. Last time there were many shops on the list who didn't accept amex for payment.

  • +1

    Shocking website for searching

  • Dammit, it's the one weekend I'm headed up to Townsville, no opal top ups for me :(

  • +1

It says now on the site: SHOPPERS GET UP TO $30 IN CREDIT. So seems they have a limit this time, only three transactions maximum.

    • They've always had a limit, right?

In October it was ten transactions per card.

      • I haven't even noticed it had a limit as the maximum recharge on Opal is $250. So 12 transactions. And as I had two cards I reached that point after 6 uses.

        • BUT there is no limit to how many opal cards you can have!!!

          So go nuts!!

Great money laundering scheme here. Imagine 1000 opal cards $250 x 1000 = $250,000. Sell it off easy. Transfer money from China to Australia!! :D

        • @Turd:

I maxed out wife's and my Opal. We did consider to take an extra Opal to max out as well, but we could not be bothered.

        • @noskich: oic. Free anyways. :D

      • Only 3 transactions eh? :/ Last time I made $70 for leaving the house for 2.5 hours on a Myki run around Melbourne.

    • +2

Only good for e weekend though, so 3 is reasonable.

  • Best thing since sliced bread.

    • You could buy a lot of sliced bread for $20…

  • Limitation of up to 3 transactions per card is pretty crap. Hopefully next time they will lift it up!

    • They will.

      In October.

    • +4

Definitely not as good as visas and MasterCards cash back promo…wait, hang on a sec

  • Cannot find Nextra News Chatswood NSW. It was under shop small last year. Do anybody see this store in the shop small list?

    • I guess if it doesn't appear on the list, it's not participating??

  • Best places to use this in Western sydney?

    • The link has a searchable tool where you enter your location and up comes a list of participating retailers.

      Go nuts!

  • Now its only valid for 2 dàys ? Have to make have to buy list from now.

  • +3

    Updated map now released:
    https://maps.americanexpress.com/AUShopSmall#?type=storefron…

Bad news for VIC.. It seems the Emporium Gift Card is not on the list this time! :(

  • Fuel

Keep a low tank towards end of next week.

    Premium unleaded…. hahahaha

    • Which petrol stations are in Shop Small now. I could not find any in Sydney. Previously Metro were always included.

      • Same here (in Adelaide)… checked petrol stations which used to be in the small shop promotion, however cannot find them on the map anymore.

      • +1

I have checked again for melbourne.
And no fuel stations this time.

        ***sigh

  • noticed that there were no computer retails in sydney at all .. ??

  • +4

    The registration is open!

got out this manual enrolment link for any others supplementary amex cards.

    https://offerenroll.americanexpress.com/enroll/EnrollmentSit…

  • 2 days only. Wasn't it a whole week last time?

    • This is meant to be a teaser for the usual November 10 credits per card event.

      • So this is an additional event. That's good.
