Definite bargain! I would note that it was annoying to have this thing poking out the side of the camera, and it sucked battery like a crazed power vampire, but for $5 it's a no-brainer if you have a compatible camera (I've since moved on to camera where wifi is built in….).

      • +5

Spoken like a true Canon fan, lol

        • -1

          I r Kodak phan amigo

  • +2

    …and for what it's worth, the WU-1a is $10 (http://www.harveynorman.com.au/nikon-wireless-mobile-adapter…)

    • Thanks!

      • I got mine for $1.00 from HN last week.
        It was the last one.

  • +7

Sucks this doesn't work for my D5100. :(

  • Work with my D3100 I got https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/179383?

  • 1a or 1b for D7100 .. Confused ??

    • +1

You need the 1a, the D3300 mentioned in OP is only compatible with the 1a also

  • Can't find any stock for pick-up within a reasonable drive…

  • I just clicked on the Link and bought it for my D3300?
I should have checked prior, is this 100% for my D3300?

    • The A1 is compatible with D3300. If you've bought that one then you're fine, otherwise you may have to cancel your order and buy WU-1A (or like I've done, buy both of them).

    • I bought one of these for $50 last year. They are annoying at best. The range is very limited.

  • Cheers OP, got the 1b after accidentally getting the 1a a few months back!

  • +1

Thanks OP. Saw this deal at pricehipster front page and about to post here.

  • does it work with a d7000?

    • +1

According to the specifications, WU-1A works with D7100. The OP has updated the deal so have a look at the compatibility description above.

      • WU-1a WU-1b

        D-SLR Df, D7100, D5200, D3300, D3200 D610, D600
        Nikon 1 S2 J3, S1,V2, AW1
        COOLPIX A, P7800, P530, P520, P330,

im not sure if d7000 is totally the same as its younger brother

        • Sorry, I really can't help you there. I have the poor man's entry level D3300 so I have not idea if the D7000 and D7100 are the same or not. Just do quick Google search and see what you might get. Good luck.

        • @AussieDaddy:
          thanks boss, will do

  • I have D3300 and have bought the WU-1A, but I've also bought the WU-1B as well since it's just $5. I have to pick up my order from the CBD store, as my local store doesn't have the WU-1A in stock, so why not buy one of each instead of traveling all that extra mile for just one item? :)

    • Same here! Bought $3 phone holder too.

  • -4

wifi is almost useless on cameras..

  • Bargain! Thanks OP =)

  • Great deal but be warned that the Nikon software is absolute rubbish (at least for Android). It is lacking in functionality and very crashy. There are third party alternatives but I haven't found one with decent features that is not painful to use.

  • No brainer deal

  • i doubt i will use it. but still got one for my d600.
    thanks op.

  • Thanks got one for pick up at browns plains

  • Dammit, bought one near enough rrp ages ago

  • Got one pickup Fortitude Valley Domayne Brisbane! Thanks OP

  • Thanks op. Traveling out to Warwick tomorrow for work picking mine up from there !!

  • anyone know any wifi adapter that works for Canon 700D? I've looked up on eBay and couldn't find any :(

    • +2

If not, buy those SD cards that emit WiFi. More expensive but I've been using it as an alternative to the d3300 WiFi adaptor and works great.
      I got the Toshiba one.

    • If you know how to do a little hacking, you could try this method: http://www.canonwatch.com/diy-adding-wifi-canon-eos-dslr-che…

You need the following: an Android smartphone or tablet, a TV Stick [plus some apps installed], and a power bank that acts as a power source for the TV stick.

      Or see this comment:

if you really wanna go cheaper buy a 12$ tether cord [OTG] connect it to [your] phone that has data service and every photo taken from the canon camera will be in your phone gallery then you can upload to social media

  • Good service by Harvey Norman, ordered the b instead of the a, got onto chat and order instantly refunded.

  • not compatible with D800?

    • No

  • Delivery is $14.95. No deal Harvey! Thanks for posting OP. They are competitive prices if you live near a store with stock. More a gimmick than a tool for more serious snappers.

  • +2

Any idea which one works on D90

  • 3 items delivery…$44.85 - $14.95 each. Get knotted!

    • Yep,unable to bundle items together for combined postage.
      That's just crap.

And $15 postage, Seriously? No wonder people use eBay.

      • I may have gotten lucky then, I only paid $5 delivery when I ordered yesterday.

Must had one nearby that I could have picked up.

  • D: None avail my area or CBD, $15 del fee puts me off :((

  • For those with IR android phones and D3300, you can control it with free app ZaZaremote
The range I reckon is about the same as these WiFi remotes. At least it works just fine for mine Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 and Nikon D3300.
    Only a shutter button though…
Good deal for those who doesn't have IR or looking for other benefits from WiFi dongle (LiveView and uploads)

  • Will it with D3100 or J1?

  • It is very funny , WU-1B $5.00 + post $5.95 but the WU-1a $10 + post $14.95 , and if you buy both post will be $29…, don't know how HN cal post????

    • +2

      i'm guessing
      a) they're calculating postage based on price
      b) they're pulling random numbers out of their arse

      • +1

Not combining postage is just ridiculous

        • ridiculous + rip-off == the harvey norman way

  • +2

i feel like i've won the lottery, this being compatible with my d3200 \o/

edit: and just as quickly, lost the lottery when i realised that no WA stores have this in stock to be picked up }:

  • Can some one please post the link to last years deal

"For all those people who bought Nikon D3300 for $225 last years deal"

  • +1

I cant find any stock of the WU-1a in Victoia.

  • +1

    No store in Sydney

  • They have increased the postage for WU-1b to 14.95! LOL

Have anyone received your pick up ready email?

    • I was hesitating at $10. At $24.95 it's easy to let go. I had 3 items in my cart and they wanted $14.95 delivery for each - $44.85 to deliver 3 items to the Sydney metro area. No sale, and stop wasting my time HN.

  • +2

Even Harvey Norman know they're getting ozbargained
    http://imgur.com/jQEa0Wo

  • Bought the WU-1A last year from the eBay deal for $38.40!!!

  • Is there any equal device for D5100 or Olympus em-5 ?

  • +1

Ordered yesterday. Today just received email and got refund.

    • Do you mean that they don't have stock for your order or you don't want it any more?

    • same here

    • Uh-oh…not looking good… haven't got the dreaded email yet.

Has anyone got a confirmation email for pickup yet?

      • Yes, just got an email this afternoon, ready for pick up at Chadstone, VIC.

  • No "pick up" available Sydney, but even with their thieving $14.95 delivery (good to see that lying old fart Norman, has enough energy left to continue gouging his clientele!), it's still a reasonable deal…I've got one on the way…thanks OP +1

  • Wu 1a is sold out, I am unable to add it to the cart

  • I think the title should add 'or $19.95 delivered'. I ordered today and paid 14.95 deliver, in transit now.

  • Anybody can tell me whether it works with J1 please ?

  • Missed out on the WU-1a would really love one for my D3200. If anyone bought one and doesn't want it. Please PM me .
    Cheers

  • I picked up this unit yesterday, however, as most of the online reviews have mentioned this product is extremely buggy with frequent connection dropouts or inability to connect to the device. Since, it's so cheap I can't complain too much but I would like to share a few tips with everyone else, the issue seems to be more prevalent with iOS users as oppose to Android users. If you come across with issue like I experienced:
    1. Make sure the adapter is enabled in the menu under Wireless Mobile Adapter
    2. If it's already enabled and you still have difficulties, turnoff your Bluetooth
    3. If that doesn't work either the last resort is to put your phone onto Airplane mode
    4. Unfortunately, that did not work for me until I disconnected and tapped forget this network on my home wi-fi

Let me know, if if you were having issues with the adapter, and whether or not the solutions I've provided above resolved your issues.

  • I picked up my WU-1b this morning. Though it is in a box, to my surprise, there is no warpping inside. Inside the box, the adapter is in a small plastic container along with the folded user guide. For anyone picked up a WU-1b, do you have the same package? Just a feeling that it may be a returned goods.

    • I'm assuming it's the same packaging as the WU-1a, the one that I picked up had bubble wraps for the adapter, case for the adapter and plastic wrap for the lanyard.

  • I dont even have a camera

  • I picked one up from the Good Guys this morning, a WU-1a, they priced matched Harvey Norman, but apparently they will only price match until COB today, as that is when Harvey Normans deal ends. At least the Good Guys had stock….

  • Got it this morning , the box might has been opened and close several times , I guess it is on the shell then people ( shoppers ) opened it up .., made the box not in a good shape , anyway given away to a friend because I ordered wrong one .

Got a call from HN Adelaide store now and was told they don't have any stock of these units. Their online department obviously accepted too many purchases and they can't even order more units from Nikon as they're discontinued. Refund time. :(

    • +1

Yeah, I got the same - said they are out of stock even though when I ordered they said the website said it was in stock for pick up. Think what happened is people went in the next morning to buy in store before the store got the chance to allocate the website orders for pick up.

      • Went on their live chat and they've already refunded me.

Yeah, it would have been better if they knew their stock levels and not get people into buying, chatting/calling/emailing and refund processes. One of the things I hate about some of our stores and their online sales. It's 2016 and technology is advanced to the point that huge, complex, multi-billion dollar corporations can track their inventory to the tiniest fraction online. I don't understand when some of these stores, pretty small compared to those other multinational ones, just can't keep up with their stock levels. If you have a thousand units of a given product you want to sell online then with today's web technology, you should be able to configure your web servers (or other web services that do this type of stuff) to not accept further purchases once the 1000th item has been purchased. Well, unless there's some form of incompetency at play here, or they know what they're doing and the whole thing is a marketing tactic.

  • +1

Horrible, paid for the wi-fi for my D3300, it showed as in stock.
It's been 6 days and have heard nothing, called them today and they said no stock and that they will cancel and refund.
Harvey Norman is horrible and has left bad experience in my mouth, they should get their stock system updated.
If I knew my store pickup had no stock I might have driven there or elsewhere to check or picked up from other store.
    Useless.

  • Refunded $10 for the 'a' version. Sydney

  • Guys who have purchased from HN Broadway Sydney (WU-1b), they are now ready to be picked up! Check your emails!

  • Placed my order and pay with PayPal, thinking there was a great bargain. Only that there was never a pickup notice. :(
They marked my order as completed.
I went to the shop and was told the order had been picked up. Apparently, they gave my order to someone else and closed it off.
Contacted HN on PayPal and got a standard response as if they couldn't care less.

Reading the previous comments, seems like I am not the only one let down by HN.
With the kinda of service and attitude, don't see Harvey Norman will be around for much longer. Well done HN, you will be the next Dick. :D

    • Similar story. Waited for the confirmation email. Never came. Spoke with online chat who stated they contacted the store and the order was being prepared and should be ready in a few days. Nothing happened. Well over a month later I pretty much knew by comments here they would have run out of stock, but waited to see if they would contact me. Still nothing. Finally rang them last week, "oh sorry item is out of stock". No explanation or apology about why they hadn't informed me earlier. Very poor communication.
