Hey guys I believe this is the same laptop a couple weeks back on ebay that was 20% off and was sold out. I just so happened to have missed that deal and came across this today. Difference in 35 dollars from last time was not going to deter me from buying :) and if you click and collect pick up at local bing lee store its another 10 off which brings it down to 594.15

  • any review from last promotion purchaser pls? thanks

Couple people mentioned it was slow. Not sure what they were referring to but I'm wondering whether their options have changed since.

I purchased this from the last promotion.
      Shipping:
Very timely, the ETA is accurate.
      Performance:
A little disappointed at how long it took to setup Windows 8 (around 2-3 hours). Once setup, the free upgrade from windows 8 to 10 is seamless.
      Design:
2kg with keyboard is really heavy. It's not easy to pick up the unit with only one hand. Aside from this, the quality seems and feels great.
      Durability:
One great thing about the laptop is the ability for it to limit the charge to 80%. It's great if you won't be moving much and have the laptop constantly on charge to increase battery life.

Personally, for the price it's completely worth it. At the end of the day, it is an i5 CPU

Hey I am looking to buy this, could you let me know what it's like browsing the web etc. How responsive is it opening light weight applications like Chrome and how responsive is the touch pad?

        • You won't be disappointed with light to medium weight programs (Microsoft Office etc), even if you stream videos in 1080p on YouTube it'll be more than fine.

      • is the sata drive removable? can i put a samsung 850 pro in?

  • i just bought one Thinkpad t420s 120g sad i5
    for 300

    whats your opinion

  • I recommend you try out this machine beforehand. How the tablet detaches takes some getting used to.

The reviews I've read highlight this as an issue. For example…

    Good, thorough review.

  • Memory: 4GB DDR3L (1600Mhz)
RAM Slot Allocation: Memory not expandable

    enjoy this going forward

    • Yeah this is a big negative point for this laptop.

I am an owner of this laptop/tablet.
In fact bought one for my lil brother for his uni, so he's the owner but have decent experience using this laptop.
Looks: Laptop looks and feels very premium, very well made and finishing is very good.

Performance: More than Enough for day to day use. Don't expect to game on it. But very good and fast with browsing working on docs, movies etc.(remember it's SSD). RAM not upgradable but not an issue with us as we are not using it for high requirement performance apps.

Display: Is FHD , very nice touch screen.

Battery: 5-6 hrs in laptop mode, Tops 2hr in tablet mode.

    -Backlit keyboard is very good.
-Weighs a lil more than expected for a 2in1 but liveable with, not very heavy, but will be subjective as per buyer.
-Tablet detach attach is not a problem, it's different, takes a day or 2 getting used to.

All in all very good laptop in sub $600 category. Don't compare it with $1000 laptops or 2in1.
U save $400 and live with some not so major issues.

The biggest minus point if I have to point out is, in laptop mode it's screen heavy hence needs to be used a lil more with care compared to a laptop, feels prone to break from hinges . Checked with Toshiba and they said don't worry will not break if does they will replace for free.

All in all very happy with a $560 2in1.

    • I've had good experiences with lower end Toshibas

I've bought 2 previously under 1k and both lived (reasonably) well >3 years

      1 was dropped
1 still worked but was upgraded (cos I could finally afford to šŸ˜„)

  • is the 'SATA' SSD replacable ?
Is in slim or standard 2.5 size
