    this has to be the biggest scam. why do they have to add yearly fee to personalised number plates. a one off fee i can understand but every year. what for? pure money grabbing exercise for the foolish.

    Good deal, I noticed price has gone up for a lot of restyles though, so 20% off is at about what they cost last year. They certainly won't get any cheaper though

    In VIC, this is just a once off fee for personalisation. Looks like NSW shafts their drivers with the yearly fee.

    So this renew can only be done via the phone system? not via the website? i cant see anywhere to put in the code on the payment screen. (Calm down, I'm just buying mum some coloured slimlines, not the overly ripped off prices for a yearly subscription… THAT is NOT a gift she would enjoy…)

      It's always a "deal" in WA since you only need to pay once for the custom plates, rather than get hit annually in NSW.

    Literally just ordered a plate minutes before I saw this. Going to give them a call and quote coupon to see if I can get the difference refunded.

    "If I change my mind after I have placed my order, will my order fee be refunded?
    myPlates will refund the full order fee for personalised number plates if you cancel your order on the same day the order fee was paid. myPlates will not refund any fees for personalised number plates including any order fees or any annual fee in any other circumstances."

    Obviously I can't call and cancel now at time of post, hopefully they'll be lenient if I call in the morning.

    Is it just for the order fee? Not 20% off the annual fee obviously?

      ^Yeah I'd call first thing and see if they can credit the difference, if not, then cancel the order and reorder with another operator lol.

      Pretty sure it's 20% just off the order fee as stated. I haven't ordered custom plates before, but from what i've read you only get charged a balance of how many months rego you have left anyway, so i have 2 months left, so that's plate fee + $17 (roughly). Then on renewal of rego get charged the full $103.

      I haven't called yet, because i'm holding out for the JDM plates set to be released any day now… which better happen before the deal closes 7th of May.

        Got it refunded, it was only a $90 plate for a motorcycle, but still $18 back in my pocket is better than none. Was tempted to change the design though. He didn't even ask for the coupon code, so I'm assuming whoever I spoke to is aware of 20% deal.

        They're posting cheques out, so should be here around the same time as the license plate.

        JDM plates will be available for order from 27th June.
        I received an email from MyPlates on Friday saying

        The JDM plate can be ordered at myPlates.com.au from 12:01am on Monday June 27 at a special introductory price of $195. Alternatively you can call one of our plate specialists from 8:30am on 131 758.

      Page is working for me at home and on mobile. It was blocked when I was looking at work yesterday though.

      And it has to be ordered over the phone anyway, so the website isn't necessary to access the deal.
