Get the Samsung Tab A 8.0 LTE with no additional device repayments when you take up an eligible Data Share Plan and stay connected for 24 months
Plans From $15 Per Month For 2.5GB
good way to get an extra 2.5G of data a month for $15 though, even if you don't use the tablet much
This is true, can this data be shared between sims?
I presume the telstra one would be for a 4G version and JB would be WiFi only?
I Just spoke to Telstra and the chat lady said it's the LTE Version that connects to the 4GX Network
The good guys and office works are selling for $258
Try JB HiFi are selling this $447.
Not to mention 2.5GB is decent enough for everyday browsing. I rarely get over 3GB on my phone and tablet on my 7GB data share plan and I stream Spotify multiple hours per day + site browsing. Mind you I don't stream video. Telstra also do $10/GB when you go over - just because because 1MB incurs another $10. One month, the last day before roll-over I went a few MB over and got whacked the $10.
Optus datashare is $5 once off per sim I think Telstra have a monthly surcharge per Data share Sim ($5)…..or that is what they charged on the plan I was on.
I am 12 months into a 24 month contract. If I add this does it mean I will end up having to stay 36 months on my original contract?
Thanks
No it doesnt change your original contract duration.
You can change plans but just have to stay on the same type of plans.
It says in the short t&c sections something like must remain on eligible plans
So it would still commit me to 24 months on the original contract? i.e I couldn't stop the original one and just pay $15 ?
We don't know, call Telstra and find out.
No
As i said t&cs say you must remain on eligible plan to receive the offer
Is it only 16gb tablet?
How much of that 16gb can be used?
Once you fill it up with apps you cant even install apps on the expandable can you?
External Memory Support - MicroSD (Up to 128GB)
I read you cant install apps on it though
Only media
If you have 2 items on a data share plan, can you limit one device (with an app, I'm assuming) to only use a certain amount of data per month?
Was looking at upgrading my toy…. Asus Google Nexus 7 (2012)
But this is only marginally better 3 years later…

In regards to price I assume the Telstra one would be with 3g/lte which is $447 at Jb Hifi

Guess they hope to catch people on the over data limit ploy
Things you need to know
Device Payment Contract (DPC): If you cancel this plan early the remaining device payments will be higher as you'll no longer receive a credit to offset your device cost. Extra Data: If you go over your Monthly Data Allowance, we automatically add data to your allowance for that month in 1GB blocks for $10 per GB. Extra Data is for use in Australia with eligible plans, is shared between eligible data sharing services on your account and expires at the end of that billing month.
Has anyone got a data sharing plan, how do you allocate/turn it off and on.
ie I currently have a prepaid plan
Data sharing only works between eligible plans and you can't turn it off as far as I know.
All new postpaid plans have that 1GB $10 thing. It's a good idea seeing as data was far more expensive before that.
I will be all over it if it got a hd screen
1024x 768just way too low
Yeah it is low but has surprisingly good reviews considering that
Was at the Samsung store today…
This is a nice toy tablet.
Need to add to the title
In order to purchase a Data Share SIM and device, you must have been a Telstra customer for more than 6 months. Available only to Go Mobile, Mobile Accelerate or Everyday Connect customers.
Just got rejected (
Damn, i just tried to grab this deal but it seems that the data has gone back to 1gb for $15.
think i will pass for now, should this deal be marked as expired?
this is back on
Min. cost is $360 (including whatever extra usage charges), JB are selling this tablet for $298.
