Hard Case Similar to Pelican Case $15.99 SuperCheap Auto

530

This is fairly small, for cameras and small electronics.

Great quality, amazingly sturdy even though it's a knock-off.

Edit: Thanks to Utopian

    To be exact:
    External dimensions: 260 (W) x 245 (D) x 175mm (H)
    Internal dimensions: 233 (W) x 178 (D) x 155mm (H)

  • Video gave me a great idea - I can store my drone in this :)

    • It would need to be a small drone to fit in the $16 case…..certainly not a Phantom.

      • +1

Good thing I have drones from small to large.

        • Perfect!

    • Wouldn't it be better to get a bigger case to fit everything in one case? The case I got off bunnings could fit my taranis, 250mm drone, quanum v2, 6 batteries, a couple tools and two bags of props

      • Perhaps. I don't always take them all out for a flight.

What's the normal price? I trust my peli case - not sure I'd take a risk here

It took more key presses to type the question, as opposed to the single click of the link which would have answered your question!

      • Oh the irony

        • +2

          No, it's made of plastic…

    • Pelicans are the way to go if you want to spend the money but these cheapies do a fine job, they're damn tough. I've used all sizes and abused them to the extreme on motorbikes offroad and never had one fail… (as top boxes and panniers)

    • I trust my peli case

I think the small size of this one works in it's favour, the ratio of plastic makes it quite rigid and somewhat comparable to the genuine article. The larger sizes by definition allow more flex in the more expansive panels and tolerances become more of an issue when compared to the Pelican but then again you're looking at quadruple the price.

      • I'd say the case should hold up just fine, but the clips and hinges on the cheaper case might be a little bit of an issue.

thanks I was looking for something to bury my cash in

It would need to be a very small pelican…

The sale just ended on these a few days ago.. the large one which is 560 x 430 x 215mm fits my phantom 3 pro + remote 2 x batteries + ipad mini was $64.99 with free delivery

  • I have one of these (as well as the two next sizes up). Nice hard case for headphones.

D2000 and DT-770 fit perfectly, but X1 are a bit too wide (need to go up a size).

Good for those who bought the dt770 deal the other day! :)

  • Thanks got one ordered and I was able to get free home delivery (not sure if this is everywhere or in CBD only)

    • Says Free Freight in the item description so I'm assuming for all

  • Sold out now.

  • This will hold a decent sized chunk of Kryptonite, right?

  • I broke one of these. Its ok until its left in the car for a little while. It disintegrated like the plastic storage tubs they sell.

The peli out shines at a price

    • what, they melted in the sun? or in the boot?

that's not good. i've never taken mine outside, so haven't come across this issue.

for heavy duty use and/or for protection of thousands of dollars worth of equipment, then yeah Pelican is probably worth the price. but that's a mighty large price! for me personally, these are a much much better option.

  • Would be nice if they listed the weight for each case.

I'd be interested in this for camera gear while travelling. If it's not far too heavy.

Is there some sort of hack we can use to stop people using the word hack every time they do anything slightly more complex than chewing gum or passing gas???

      It's getting a little hackneyed now…

      • +3

Couldn't think of what to call it.
Thought I'd just quickly share, as I'm busy & never have success here.

        Thanks, though.

        • Apologies, we do all appreciate the share…it's just that word…urggghhh! ;)

      • +2

Agreed. How is it a hack? it's just a normal coupon.

  • i really want one but I have no idea what I'd put into it

    why is hoarding so fun?

    • +2

all the random things on ozbargain that you don't use, but need to keep safe just in case you ever need them, but never will! :)

    • all my mint-in-pack eneloops. the packaging must be preserved at all costs :p

The quality is cheap, not great. I have a 2 large ones mounted as a pannier on my motorbike. The hinge pins are held in by friction and most of them started falling out on their own. One of the bracket bits snapped off and you could see the bubbles inside which caused it to be weak there.

  • Thanks OP. I bought 2, then ended up spending another $70 so I could get $20 off. haha

    • So it's a good deal?
