And don't forget, you can always get a refund on your $60 membership if you're not satisfied.
A good reason I discovered just this morning, is that they don't stock 1L bottles of Nandos hot sauce anymore.
    Only Medium is available :(

Avoid giving in to the temptation to get a refund on your membership 11 months in if you buy any big-ticket products such as this, though. The 100% product satisfaction guarantee is damn good even at $60 a year to maintain membership.

Yes, the store staff specifically said that I could return the TV in 3 years if there's something I don't like about it, as long as I've maintained continuous membership between the purchase and refund.

Dude you could return that TV in 20 years time and say because you didn't like the colour, provided your membership is up to date.

        • +2

There, corrected that neg for you.

No telling what happens next though. :-)

Do you get a refund or store credit?

Curious, will people abuse the system by returning a TV every 3 years just to upgrade?

        • +1

They give cash refunds or back on your card depending on how and when you purchased the item.

There is potential for this to be abused, but they quite a loyal customers and employees who generally do the right thing.

@corbz: It does get abused in US. I know anecdotal stories from my cousin in US about people from other country who lost IT jobs in US during GFC returned everything and went back to their home country with full money back. In fact people on H1B visa buys everything from costco exactly for this purpose to get money back for their used TV/furniture etc. after many years before leaving US.

3 years… Nevermind what store staff said, it's the contract of sale and membership conditions that determine what exactly the return conditions are.

    • you would cancel over that? really?

  • Can you get the netflix app on this tv?

    • +2

I picked up it's smaller sibling (32W700C) & it has the Netflix app, this one should be the same,

      • Though this one says W70C while you're talking about the W700C. Is there a difference?

        • +1

          It's the same TV.

        • +2

W70C and W700C seem to be used interchangeably. Costco's labels use both, and even the TV's box lists both model numbers on different labels.

  • nice!

  • Yes, bought this 2 weeks ago at Costco same price. Netflix app on it.

damn, good price but i'm after the W800 series. need that 100HZ for sport and gaming.

    • Wonder how important this spec is too.
I am not a gamer or a sport fan though.

      • IMO once you see a screen tear on your TV you can't unsee it. Not just sports and gaming but some movies too esp action. I'd say go in store and look but they tend to show slow moving high res images for just that reason.

I got the 50W800C during the TGG ebay sale and I'm loving it, the android app works well and the xbox works great on it. I do recall reading that people preferred the 700c for gaming as it had a lower input lag? So this deal might be the model for you just check out some reviews.

      • how much did you pay for that? i think the 800 series has 100hz refresh rate, as opposed to 50hz for the 700 series, so from my limited knowledge the 800 series would be slightly better for gaming/watching sport. of course i have limited knowledge with this, so i could be wrong.

also 700 series doesn't feature android tv.

Wasn't this at ~$636 at Good Guys when the 20% eBay sale was on?

    • +2

Yeah, I missed that one, sadly. Expired now.

  • Good deal as folks want a new TV. Missed TGG ebay sale earlier but this seems to be a reasonable price anyway. Thanks!

  • Waiting for a 60"-65" UHD for under $1k. 55"s already sub-$1k. Bring on EOFY sale early!

    • Tell him he's dreaming…
Sorry, had to do it dreamerman. But in all seriousness, I hope you're right that this happens this year!

This would probably eventuate in one of the lower tier brands like Hisense, Sorny, Panaphonics or Magnetbox.
