Just got mine, looks really good however will definitely change the matte screen protector to something else as i think it makes the screen not look as good. Wasn't sure what location to set it to as there's no option for Australia.

Matte screen protector? Or is that the factory fitted shipping protector? Remove and toss.
Finished setting it up and everything's pretty good the only gripe i have is the sound quality from the headphone jack is pretty terrible. The sound really sounds muddy without any treble or anything. EQ can only help so much.

No issue here. Sounds very good to me. Have tested using 2 different pairs of xiaomi inner ear headphones. You sure you don't have an issue?
Nah i think it's just poor quality. I did a side by side test with my old htc one m8 and a lumia 920.
Did you use the headphone settings?
Tried headphone settings but didn't really like it. Sound via bluetooth is decent and same as any other phone just via the 3.5mm dac is bad so guessing it's just the cheap dac. Camera is pretty average too but apart from that everything is pretty amazing. Step up from my old htc m8 for sure.
to me sound doesn't sound muddy. not the best but decent enough.
i get heaps of noise staticky crap in mine as well :/

The box that it came in makes no mention that it is the Pro version…only mentions Xiaomi Redmi Note 3. Did anyone else notice this?
I purchased the English version of the device in Silver/Grey. I noticed when setting it up for locale that it didnt list Austrlia…which really I didnt expect. Anything I can do here and if not what locale are people using?

In short:
1) If you ordered the Pro, you have received the Pro
2) No option for Australia, so most people are choosing Singapore (given that English is their official language)….

I selected Singapore as the locale. Only thing I had to change was the date format and time zone.

got mine yesterday and set it to singapore locale. can someone tell me in layman terms what the global flashing is for? anyone done it or dint do and how would it affect the use of the phone? just checked tinydeals and its selling for 249.99, just that its free shipping will take ages. surprised how could ozbargainers not have picked up this deal? i think the white balance of the camera is very poor. that's my only concern of this phone so far.
Sorry if i m asking silly question already answered, but I have downloaded the gumtree ad on this new phone and there are weird codings shown in place of ads. Tho I dont like to see ads but I would rather see proper ads than weird codings. Anyone has the same issue? Is it the gumtree app or is it the phone settings? Any idea how to resolve this? I hvnt tried to flash to global ROM is this is the problem? A bit nervous doing that.

yes i mean i downloaded the gumtree app n its showing weird codings in the paid ads.
Just updated the phone and fingerprint now works for both front and back camera, very useful.

Eventually went out to the toll depot and picked it up due to an addressing snafu. But seriously it's worth the wait. Have it sitting next to my daughter's $829 iphone SE on the kitchen bench, I can't believe the value! $273 well spent I reckon. Only problem is my wife wants one now. Oh well, she will just have to wait for the next eglobal ozbargain deal!
