Velvet Clothes Hangers, 10 Pack $3.78 @ Bunnings Warehouse

720

This is the cheapest I've seen this style of hangers anywhere - and they are great as your clothes don't slip off them. It seems to be the ongoing price. Just puttin' it out there…

Kogan 50pk is $26.00 = 52c/each
Catch of the Day 10pk is $9.99 = $1 each
Big W $9.00 10 pk = 90c each

The deal at Bunnings is just under 38c each.

  • Good find. I usually buy these from KMart, 8 pk for $5.00 - 62.5c each.

  • Velvet Clothes Hangers

    Black velvet if you please…

They are $15 for 50 pack at Costco Auburn.

    • are they velvet ?

      • +1

        Yes they are. Non-slip hangers.

        • I always buy them from Costco(for family and friends). Very good quality/price

  • You can get a dozen of the normal ones for $2.50 at Big W.

  • wow, i just threw away around 15 dozen of these not too long ago

  • You can't hang wet clothes on these hangers.

  • Thanks for posting. I needed some☺

  • So what's the big deal with these? Is it just looks or does the velvet actually fulfil some purpose?

    • +1

Basically the velvet means clothes won't slip off. I changed from wood ones (which took up too much room) to wire coated (which some things slid off repeatedly) then to these. These are the best, they aren't particularly nice looking but they are thin and definitely more usable.

Give one a little rub…I challenge you not to get aroused! ;)

    • Good for delicate clothes. Some of my chiffon tops were getting caught on the plastic ones, potentially making a hole.

I bought at Kmart $5 for 8, so these are nice price. The best price I found to date was Aldi $9.95 for 20 but blink and you missed them. The Aldi ones were about an inch wider on each side than Kmarts so maybe are better for guys clothes with wider shoulders.

I'll get some of these from Bunnings next time and do a comparison.

  • I bought some of these a few weeks ago, paid around $4ish I think.
They're steel inside, stiff & strong, plus the velvet will protect your clothes from any rust that might form.

    thanks Op

    great find

  • Will they get mouldy when humidity gets high? Cheers

    • +2

I live in QLD where the humidity gets pretty high. I bought a 50 pack about 5 years ago from Big W and they've never gone mouldy. I hang wet clothes on them from time to time to dry on the hanger and they've also been fine - no mould, no loss of velvety stuff, etc.

I originally bought them due to watching the Australian 'organise your life' guy, Peter Walsh, say on Oprah they are a "must have" and as it turned out, for me, they are a must-have - totally functional, look nice and easy to match if you bought a similar set elsewhere already (as I had), and cheap as chippies :)

Plus (whilst not exclusive to these particular hangers), like the wooden ones, the hanger bit pivots. So, you can turn the hanger to hang off a shower frame, etc, if need be.

Pfft, I've never paid for cloth hangars and got most of mine for free from the side of the street during council clean-up collection.

But good deal on good/fancy hangars, upvoted, thanks.

Why do you need so many cloth hangars?

    • I would drape myself in velvet if it were socially acceptable
    • You're among friends here…

Horses for courses but I tried and particularly hate them. You've been warned.

    • What do you hate about them?

Here is my update as promsied in an earlier comment. Bought the Bunnings ones yesterday and they are the same width/shape as the Aldi ones (give or take a few mm) but are different. They do not have the extra centre loop thing (purpose unknown), nor do they have the small indent at the shoulder point.

Overall, I feel the Kmart ones are best for female clothing due to the slightly smaller width, but to save money the Bunnings ones seem on par quality wise for the basic purpose.

  • Thanks for the comparison sparkles. I just saw some at the Reject Shop online, $20 for 50, they have the shoulder indent. I have a pic so I'll try to figure out how to upload it…otherwise just check out their site.
