Or use AusPost's Parcel Lockers for free…….
Also this isn't what I would call secure.

    • How?

      • +1
        • +1

If you happen to have one in the vicinity, which I don't even though I'm a metropolitan resident.

        • Secure is always a relative term Spectator- is it a safe no.

Does it provide a deterrent to theft, absolutely.

Banks of parcel lockers are a great way of you collecting a parcel you paid to have delivered (whether it was hidden in your purchase price or not) and as identified they aren't necessarily in convenient locations. Arguably you pay for the postage twice.

    • +2

Remember that there are a numbers of online sellers (i.e. Kogan, Harvey Norman) and also Ebay sellers (i.e. Excludes: PO Box) that don't deliver to Parcel Lockers, so this might be a solution in these cases. BTW, I have a Parcel Locker as well but sometimes I have to direct the delivery to my business address which can be a nightmare).

      • +2

Then it's also likely they won't use this "safe" either.
EDIT: Well tickle me pink, they seem to have a list of "carriers" that support this:

        Australia Post
        Toll
        Couriers Please
        CTI express
        Action Couriers
        Bring Couriers
        Direct Couriers
        Fastway Qld

Notice TNT, Startrack and DHL aren't on that list. They're pretty commonly used.

        • +1

It's strange startrack isn't on the list, Them being owned by Australia Post.

        • +3

Thanks Mujaji- we understand Startrack deliver pursuant to AusPost's procedures- see p27 of their parcel guide http://auspost.com.au/media/documents/domestic-parcels-guide…

Startrack chose not to respond when we contacted them directly on multiple occasions so we cant list them.

fair shake mate. youre comparing a physical product to a service Auspost offers, pretty harsh downvote. Its like downvoting a deal on a treadmill because you can run in the park

      • -6

I'm also downvoting because it's not really secure AND doesn't necessarily work. Also the coupon doesn't work. Downvote is just an opinion. I'm allowed to have it especially since I'd like to highlight my negative thoughts on this "deal"

        • +3

          Do you have one?

      • +1

I received two of these this Tuesday. Bolted one to the concrete, received a gear VR parcel via Toll yesterday while I was at work. I had specifically left delivery instructions with a one time use pin for the courier to use to pop the parcel in the box. Worked like a charm!

Also this parcel box is pretty darn secure for parcel storage, it's not a 'Safe' in terms of security, but it will do the job as a work storage, at home storage (using second one for this) etc.

Dunno what this Spectator bloke is on about.

  • +3

Or register (for free) for a Parcel Collect address at http://auspost.com.au/parcels-mail/parcel-collect.html?ilink…. Parcel lockers service is also good but limited locations whereas Parcel Collect is offered at most post offices.

    • Never heard of parcel collect address never heard of it but thanks for sharing,i have parcel locker and not used it once yet and its about 15 mins drive away if not more.
Some couriers dont deliver to buy but im taking what or whoever your ordering from will it still be deliver to post office.
      Will couriers still deliver there?

      • +1

I am using Parcel Collect service myself as my local PO offers it and for orders that allow the use of such address. It is actually the street address of the Post Office with the addition of your Parcel Collect Number. Seems to me like to put "care of someone (c/-)" before an address. If a supplier refuses to use Parcel Collect address, you will probably know before or at the time they process the shipment. That is when you could nominate a different address.

I haven't had an issue on delivery using Parcel Collect address. However I note that with access to "My Digital Post" app (may be also via your online login with Aus Post account) you can confirm your "backup" delivery address being your home and confirm your nominated local Post Office (same Post Office where the Parcel Collect address is) to where deliveries are re-directed if there was a problem. So I have got it covered by a "loop" :)

    • This is a great service, I use it all the time. They also send out an email when an item is delivered

    • Just a comment - I've found that you cannot use Parcel Collect for imports.

I tried it recently for a high-value Banggood order, and got in big trouble from the local PO Manager.

So I only use Parcel Collect when I am on holidays - normally I have all deliveries go to my work address, however this is not something that is feasible for many people.

      • Not entirely correct: http://auspost.com.au/parcels-mail/parcel-collect.html?ilink…

        It states that:

We'll accept domestic and international parcels from other carriers as long as they've paid to send them via the Australia Post network.
If the carrier chooses not to use our network, they should contact you - or the sender - to arrange alternate delivery of pickup options.

So assuming your courier didn't pay to use the Australia Post network, what your local PO Manager should've done is to reject the parcel and tell them to contact you directly.

        • We'll accept domestic and international parcels from other carriers as long as they've paid to send them via the Australia Post network

I assume that Banggood paid China Post, not Australia Post.

        • @llama:

I don't think that statement is saying who the vendor paid to use, it's about whether or not the carrier company has paid Australia Post to use its service to distribute the parcels on their behalf to the lockers.

        • @thechengman:

You forgot to READ the whole page that you linked to…

Please note: Australia Post will accept domestic and international parcels from other carriers to our Parcel Collect locations, if those parcels have been lodged by the carriers as Australia Post articles addressed to the recipients' Parcel Collect address. To lodge parcels into our network, carriers must pay Australia Post for the service.

The item that I collected was a China Post article, not an Australia Post article.

It was also Signature Required, and that might have caused additional complications.

        • @llama:
China Post pay Australia post to deliver, as opposed to couriers who do not. Admittedly, international postage settlements are a joke, but the article you ordered fulfilled the requirements you quoted.

        • @llama:

If you read your last bolded sentence, it is stating that the article does not need to be an Australia Post article, it's saying that the carrier lodging the article with Australia Post must pay for the service.

I don't understand what your issue is.

        • @thechengman:

I don't understand what your issue is.

Maybe you should read my post that you are continually replying to?

        • @llama:

OK, maybe you need thing's spelt out for you. I'll number it in sequence and put an example in for you.

          You said:

          1. "Just a comment - I've found that you cannot use Parcel Collect for imports."

          2. I said "The item that I collected was a China Post article, not an Australia Post article"

As mskeggs stated, there is international postage settlements, which should exist by default on all state owned postal services (China Post should therefore be included). However, if for any reason you chose postage by say, UPS or DHL, then these carriers must pay a fee to lodge the article with Australia Post in order for Australia Post to put it in their lockers or a PO Box. If they have not paid this fee, then your parcel will be rejected from the post office and UPS or DHL will contact you again to get it redelivered to a fixed address.

However, in your case, since your item was sent by China Post (disregarding the signature on delivery bit), it should've been accepted without any issues given it is the state owned postal service of China. If it wasn't sent to a locker, it would've been delivered to a fixed address by an Australia Post employee.

          Clear as mud?

        • @thechengman:

          Clear as mud?

Personally, I agree with your opinion.

However my local Australia Post manager doesn't, hence the problem.

  • -1

Also the coupon limit has been reached. Considering this is only 15mins old, I'm doubting this was ever valid and that this is just spam.

    • You seem really angry about this post. Why is that?
I reckon it looks like a pretty good idea, and the quoted price seems fair.

  • -1

Getting coupon usage limit has been reached message.

  • If I get this at my place, it'll probably be smashed up within a week with nothing in it lol

  • Great price but I have my doubts. I just watched the "how it works" video, I doubt these postal sub contractors are going to care, putting in the pin, scanning the code on the safe box and on that shenanigans. These contractors work on a per parcel delivery system, and spending 5 mins to put your parcel in your safe isn't practical.

Or get a metal box with an unlocked detachable lock. Done.

    • +2

      Thanks Cronut
Its also an option to leave the box open and have the parcel placed inside which is what some of our customers do.
Entering a 4 digit code probably takes less time than filling out a card though.

      • Entering a 4 digit code probably takes less time than filling out a card though.

The cards are filled out in advance.

The contractors don't attempt to deliver and THEN write a card, sheesh!

It's far quicker to just write up the allowed percentage of parcels every day, then have the letter postie to deliver the cards for you.

  • +2

It's not a Bargain if the coupon code doesn't work. Did anybody get it at $45?

  • +2

    Coupon code doesn't work

    • +2

Coupon is working now. Placed order successfully :)

      • +1

Yet you left the neg, what a charmer…

  • I purchased one on the 1st of April, still waiting for delivery details

    • +10

They delivered it to your parcel locker

  • +1

Apologies for the incorrect coupon code its now working

    • What company are you using to deliver? Is it possible to deliver a MyParcelBox to a MyParcelBox?

      • +11

They'll go out through Auspost usually. Sadly we dont have a Russian Doll range yet :(

        • +2

There is a Doctor you can talk to about making it bigger on the inside ;) Might have to paint it blue though..

  • Coupon works now, just ordered one.

  • Thanks - ordered one just fine via PayPal.

  • Your website still comes up with viruses on my pc…

    • Hmmm I've scanned with a number of different plugins and it should be clean now. Only thing I can think of is that its a cache issue maybe, but then I'm no expert.

As previously drop us an email if you'd prefer to receive a paypal invoice

    • No we have never actually had a service fee although we contemplated it initially.

      • What was the service fee for?

This product that you have here for $45… is $45 to own the right? So we can do whatever we like with it, place it anywhere we live even at a different address?

        • +1

The service fee was envisioned at a time where we were planning to build a register of customers who provided authority to leave and integrate with a tracking service for all carriers.

Yep you own it for $45 and can do whatever you choose with it.

        • +2

          @myparcelbox:

Ok thanks for clarifying. Have a nice weekend. :)

  • +1

I like this product and want to get it delivered to my house but I am not going to be home. Do you have a larger version I can purchase first which will fit the parcel box inside?
    Thanks.

    • Think Mujaji beat you to it!

    • You could deliver it to a Auspost Parcel Locker which will get diverted to your local post office because the package is heavier than 20kg.

    • You will be home to receive a bigger version but not a smaller version? LOL :)

  • +1

A '+' for good concept - a locked dropbox. This product won't help me much though. Most of my parcels came with Auspost, but they rarely delivered my parcels. We always got "Oops, we missed you" cards even we had somebody at home all day! Now I just get parcels sent to my office. I will be interested to buy one, if one day auspost does try to deliver all parcels.

    • Thanks Somecat. The box comes with a sticker which goes on your letterbox indicating a card shouldn't be dropped.

Office deliveries are pretty useful if your office will have them, however increasingly personal deliveries are being banned or else sometimes are opened by mail rooms.

      • +1

hi, it just arrived, I brought it from the last deal last week. You just mentioned a sticker for the letter box, there was no sticker included, just the screws and lock instructions in the one I received. It looks great, solid construction.

        • +1

I received my sticker in with the screws + a couple of stubby holders and a whiteboard marker.

        • The sticker is small (stamp size) and should be in with the fixings as Miss B indicated. if not, drop us a line and we can mail it.

        • +1

@myparcelbox: never mind found it lol I was looking for something bigger, was with the screws.

  • Thanks. Ordered one. Cheers

  • Is it fire proof?

    • +2

no, not within the generally accepted definition of a fire proof safe. The UK standard for document/data fire resistant safes is BS EN-1047 and sets an internal limit of 177/55 degrees with external temperatures of 1000 degrees.

Our unit will not melt (its made of galvanised powder coated steel) but will obviously heat up inside beyond these temperatures.

  • +1

looks alright for a cheap safe/lockup cabinet for use around the house.

how hard would it be to break into one of these things?

    • +1

its really sturdy/heavy doesn't look to easy to break into and definitely not something you can move without a bit of effort

  • Hi Rep,

Great deal! couple questions for you:

1/ Silly q, but will this be left at my door when delivered (hoping i wont have to pick it up!).
2/ Are these weatherproof? i.e. if left out uncovered?

    Thanks!

    • +1

      Thanks!

      1) we ask Auspost to leave all deliveries at the door but they retain the discretion not to drop them
      2) The units are showerproof and are designed so that the top edge protects the door from rain. Driving rain in very windy conditions could result in water entering, however we are yet to have a customer describe this occurring.

  • Hey Rep - There's definitely some security issues remaining on the server…

    Screen Capture

    • Thanks Ilama, I'll look into it.

  • +2

For years I've used a Bunnings galvanised toolbox screwed to the wall which has a turn to lock clasp. Couriers and clients can drop things. This is a bigger, nicer finished option.

  • Hi Rep, I ordered 2 but have only received one from the special you did 2 weeks ago.
I emailed through your site, but have not had a reply.
How can I get some help in finding the missing delivery?

    • I think I have emailed you.

We've had a couple of orders of multiple units that seem to have confused Auspost.

Let me know if you haven't received my reply.

      • Yep all good. Thanks for the quick response

  • Can you post more info about the "handy eyebolt" and screw "fixings provided" (from website)? Photos or manual?

Interested to find out how to install it.

  • +1

Will assume that the $45 just about covers shipping and box is free. Great for people with massive porches and don't mind a monstrosity of a box sitting there as a permanent fixture. Great concept but having said that…..a strange one for the average household. Its too big for discretely placing indoors nor fire or water proof. Kind of like a heavy metal box with a lock. Great for a garage or the likes (if you have the space). I just cant imagine using it for the designed purpose. Time to buy one, at that price a bargain. Will work out what I will use it for later :-)

    • +1

That's the ozbargain motto isn't it? "Buy now, think later!"

      • +1

Thats exactly right. All good. I am already getting rid of the bed out of the spare bedroom to make room. The guests won't mind as long as they don't crack their heads on it while asleep.

  • whats the point? what if its signature on delivery?????

    • whats the point?

      Slow learner or poor reader?

It is a large, lockable postbox for delivery of parcels.

It does the same thing as your standard letterbox does for letters. Only this is a postbox that accepts larger items than letters.

what if its signature on delivery???

Well, if you just think about it a little bit longer, perhaps the answer will become crystal clear.

  • +1

Just bought one. Not sure why, but I figure I'll be able to hide all the other ozbargain purchases in here so the wife doesn't find them.

  • Anybody have the Specs HxWxD and weight etc? For the life of me I can't find them on the Website which is strange considering the item in question. I need to ensure it will fit into spare bedroom once I remove the spare bed.

    • On the home page

      55cm wide x 40cm deep x 60cm high

      • Thanks for that.I must be going blind……..and was looking for a specs or about tab. Whats is the weight as I need to ensure the better half can move it around when vacuuming.

        • I need to ensure the better half can move it around when vacuuming.

They vacuums the front porch, driveway, etc?

Certainly well trained… What about the lawns and roadway?

  • Sorry, we do not have enough "The Vault" in stock to fulfill your order right now. Please try again in 60 minutes or edit your cart and try again. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
is it out of stock? still saying in stock in product page :(

  • Out of Stock?

  • I am interested in buying one, and have emailed the info address.

  • Sure, and the postie will just ignore it and leave a card in your box !!!

  • Ok ordered my non secure, non fire resisant , non water proof box. Might hide the booze from the in-laws in it??

    • Might hide the booze from the in-laws in it??

I use an empty Lian Li computer case. Truly.

It's about 600mm cube, has wheels and with a teatowel on the top it also functions as a coffee table. I added some bezels from old IDE DVD drives on the front, plus tied a few cables out the back (pretending to be plugged into things) to make it more convincing.

  • it shows out of stock for me since last night :(

  • sorry guys, we're out of stock

If you're based in Perth we have some units that can be collected - message me and I'll organise something.

  • +2

All orders from this batch went out yesterday. Order status won't be updated but they have been sent.

It can take up to 7 working days for delivery.

We have requested that they be safe-dropped however that is up to each individual Auspost contractor.

We've had a couple of inquiries about flat batteries. If the batteries go flat on your unit please use a 9v battery on the metal terminals around the LEDs and enter the default 8 digit master code 11 33 55 77. Then replace the batteries by unscrewing the lock.

We'll get back to inquiries from people who want to collect stock from Perth over the next few days.

    • Thanks, was just about to ask this question! :D

Is it possible to change the master code?

      • Yes we recommend everyone changed the master and user code for security.

The master code can be changed by entering the following sequence

        Master Code•01•New Master Code•New Master Code••

        Example: #11335577•01•12345678•12345678••

The user code can be changed with this sequence

        Master Code•02•User Code••

        Example: #11335577•02•9999••

Full instructions should be inside your unit or are at http://www.codelocks.co.uk/user/downloads/poi/POI_KL1000V_09…

They can also be set up to use as single use lock- like a locker.
