Stoner Invisible Glass Windscreen Wash - 3.78 Litre $5 @ Supercheap Auto

290

Not sure what the original price of this is but it definitely wasn't always this cheap. Pretty good deal for some premium windshield washer fluid which also has hydrophobic properties.

Add into your washer fluid reservoir as is, does not require diluting.

    Invisible Glass Windscreen Wash

    LOL, I can see it… :P

    • +8

      Only invisible to stoners

    • Sometimes jv is good 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

      • Because OP said they didn't know the original price, so that left jv free to make the first post a joke. :)

  • hmm I think it's a cleaner not a windscreen washer fluid additive. So you put into a spray bottle then clean like Windex but safe for cars.

    • They have other products for spraying on car windows etc.

Also, Autobarn labels it as a premix https://www.autobarn.com.au/invisibleglass-premix-windscreen…

    • Yes this is the Fluid you pour in (premixed for convenience).

    • I think it's a cleaner not a windscreen washer fluid additive

Yeah, hard to tell isn't it? I think so too.

Errrr, if what you say is true, then I would have thought the concentrate would be better value as 300ml for $10 makes 10L….

    • Except we live in a world where ready to use chicken stock can cost $5 compared to cubed stock costing only a couple cents per serving.

Some people will pay for the convenience of not having to mix washer fluid concentrate themselves

      • +2

Don't forget the extra weight and space taken up by ready to use, gotta get paid for somewhere along the line.

        • and the water… gotta pay for water too.

        • +3

@idonteven: why? Coca Cola and Pepsi don't! :)

      • …and a world where chicken stock cubes aren't made from chicken.

    • Demineralised water. I would assume they're not just putting straight tap water in.

  • +1

Them stoners and their invisible windows, at least they keep them clean!

  • No pickup available in west Vic?

    has hydrophobic properties

If it's scared of water, seems a bit mean to lock it in a reservoir with some.. :/

    • +1

Graded exposure…you add a little bit at a time. ;)

      • A bit like the frog in slowly heating water, only in this case its a stoner!

Do the dudes at traffic lights with their squeegee use this?

    • Buy some and let them test it out?

Arent those guys illegal now? I havent seen them in a couple of years… unless its just QLD.

      • they are almost at every major intersections at melb…

      • lol A few days ago I went with my mum to pick up her brand new car. Not 5 minutes later we stop at the lights and one of those guys comes past asking if we need a clean.

  • Pick up doesn't seem to be available for the stores around metro Adelaide.

  • will these damage my paint?

    "does not require diluting".

I prefer the Bunnings "Peerless 1L Window And Glass Cleaner" for $6.98.
Adding only a cap-full or two when filling the reservoir, the bottle lasts quite some time, and the product does an excellent job.

    • +1

Do you know if it is safe for car paint? If not, not a good idea.

      • Has been fine on the paintwork for several years; modern car with clear coat. The product has a pH of 7.5-8.5, so it is non-acidic.

Use as an automotive windscreen washer additive is recommended by the manufacturer.

    • agree, i use the one from bosch and works quite well. $6 for 10-12 refills.
except i had to mark the bottle so i know how much im adding…

  • +1

Is it just me or does anyone else think they would need one of those every couple of weeks? Premixed 3.8L will hardly fill the reservoir!

    I agree with DJ-Studd!

    • +1

You're thinking of the wrong reservoir. The one at the back of the car is for petrol.

      • What car do you drive Russ? If you ever owned one!

        • -1

I currently own two, and have owned another three in the past. Two toyotas (different models), two Hondas (different models again), and a Mazda. None had a wiper fluid tank larger than 1l.

A quick search on the internet for replacement tanks shows that all of those are also in the one-litre range. Have a look yourself, click on "images":
          https://www.google.com.au/search?q=wiper+tank

If your tank is larger than one litre, I think you're in the minority.

        • @Russ:

          No way.

Most tanks even your Toyota, Honda and Mazda are at least 2litres.

I'd come over and wash your car for you if it was 1L or less.

        • @JB1: My 2000's Camry took like 3.5L when empty, 2005 Echo took 2L, I guess it's minority.

        • @dlovep:

You own some rare cars indeed.

        • @JB1: Indeed, lol.

      • +1

My Volvo has a 6.5L capacity.

Handy as I hardly ever need to fill it.

        • My Alfa has like 6 litres as well. I will say it sucks when you don't like the fluid you put in it.

        • @TheContact:

          Which fluid don't you like?

I cant say i havent liked any.

If thats the case give the windscreen washer pump a good workout :)

        • @JB1:

Thinking about it now..I can't remember. I think it was blue. I do recall it was too foamy and didn't do too well with cleaning as I'd get chattery wipers.

That's what I ended up doing when my then new wipers were chattering and I wanted to shut them up, just held the stalk down spraying the screen for a good long while trying to lubricate the blades heh.

        • @TheContact:

Usually if new wipers are chattering, it's because of the glass. I.E. rough surface. You can polish your glass to make it smooth again.

What I meant by giving the pump a workout is to pump all the water out.

        • @JB1:

I blame the fluid because it stopped when I finally switched, well, it's the only thing that's different now. I don't think it was able to clean off the road film, which lead to the chattering.

Using it was the only way I knew how. Didn't have the patience to fully empty it in one go hah.

    • ??? Does your garage double as an aviary?

      • No but I get thirsty on the highway!

  • Not sure I want to put any stoner near my (windscreen washer) injector…

  • Purchased at SCA Bar's Bugs Windcreen Cleaner 5 Litre concentrate on sale for $10.00

    http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/online-store/products/Bar-s…

    Makes 200L! = $0.05/L

    • It shows as $29 for me.. even logged into club account.

      • Sorry, I should have clarified I purchased it on sale in the past.

  • I use screen spray to help cool down my cars in hot days so use a lot of liquid. This would be too expensive.

    • Or you could just turn the AC on…
