  • I bought one of these a while back. It prints less than 10 pages before a pop up informs you that you're out of ink and Lexmark want you to pay $300 for ink from their site. On ebay you are looking at over $100 for genuine and about half that for generic ink. Also it doesn't appear to work with Macs and forget about using the feeder tray thats just for looks.

    • I got one also, but works fine with the Mac. Yes ink is expensive, but it prints quickly, and the colors are pretty good. For the price (which was about I paid 8 mths ago) it is a reasonable printer. I got my last inks (Black & color)from officeworks, just under 100 for both. But did not have time to shop around. The ink places fill them also and are cheaper. The feeder tray only takes bout 20 or so sheets at a time. I have not had a printer that does not stuff up with any more than that.

      • I meant the auto-feeder on top for scanning. If you manage to get it to take a sheet of paper the image will be at an angle. So its really a flat bed scanner. The printer comes with a 'sample' of ink requiring an extra $100 to buy ink. At $200+ its not cheap to buy and not cheap to run. Color lasers not on special are selling on the same site for $218. BTW TopBuy were selling this model for $79 +del at xmas

  • They are selling the same thing for AU $69.95 +AU $19.00 shipping as auction on Ebay with no one bidding =D

  • Just a quick reminder folks. I work in the largest Lexmark authorised service center in Australia and this model's warranty will be covered under LexExpress service. This model is a NO LONGER AVAILABLE model and I would say most ASC do not hold stock. Upgraded model X6675 and X7675 are also NLA however small qty are being held for VIP customers. Following the upgrading route it would be Lexmark PRO705 which personally I would give a thumb up.

So be cautious, I understand under LexExpress once the machine is down user is eligible for (new/refurb) replacement however there is no stock can be supplied for replacement. Then it will only leave you with the option "repair and return".
