Just note with Getflix quite a number have identified that Netflix have cracked down on their DNS services and isn't working anymore.

    • +3

Getflix is actually pretty quick in sorting this out. There are several alternate proxies to choose from. If my DNS service doesn't work, I just use the Getflix app on my phone to change to another server and it's working again in a few seconds.

Yeah my Netflix got blocked a few days ago.

Logged onto my account, changed server, and back to working all good now :)

        • +2

Mine has been blocked for a while now. Tried switching servers but no good.
Seems like my only fix is a new router that can static route unlike my Technicolor 799 Telstra poop.

      • it's been ok for most regions, but some regions in europe (like norway/sweeden which have some unique content) have been very problematic. Just take a look at the whirlpool forum to see the issues people are facing with the service - http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2508180. Still, I still think the deal is solid because they do seem to be working at addressing these issues, and I've never really had a problem with US which now lets you choose between several points.

      • +2

A number of people have tried that and it still does not work (whirlpool forums). Getflix's Test server does not work anymore for these people which was supposed to have fixed the issue. As Wheres that cake said, only success has been to use static DNS.

    • I had a lot of issues with blocking. Currently using dns4me. Seems a very simple service but it works for now… Was around $2.50 a month.

They do have a trial tho (without payment details) so worth checking to see if it resolves your issue before committing. I'm hoping getflix resolve their issues in the next 3 months so I can switch back afterwards

If all you need is to access the US catalogue it's ok. However if you are after other countries lots are already blocked.

    • Yes I can confirm, apparently they are working on a work around for all devices. It apparently works on a desktop browser though.

I just switched from Unblock-us to Getflix and I've got it working again, just not via my PS3. So now I just load it up in Chrome and cast it to the TV.

  • I'll admit to being fairly cynical overall, but whenever I see 'lifetime' on anything, my Spidey-sense starts going haywire…

    • +3

Its a 100% legit offer…for the lifetime of the company thats flogging whatever to you.

So if they go bust next month, they die.

And so does your lifetime offer

See - no need for all the cynicism!

I've previously bought a "Lifetime" deal for Getflix. It totally works. The "Lifetime" period is 30 years, which is long enough for me.

Live time subscriptions aren't sensible and viable pricing structures. Icetv taught us this.

As Qmar said, the past week I havn't been able to use Netflix for any region other than Aus. They have just fixed US region with some extra router configurations, all other regions still pending fix.

It's a great service and great interface, easy to switch regions on the app etc, but perhaps hold off for a bit until further update from their Facebook page.

EDIT: As of Tues, UK region fixed also.

    • Yes, I have faith in Getflix as one of the better DNS unblockers, but Netflix is finally cracking down on this. Whether or not ANY unblockers will be able to give you access to international netflix regions in the long term remains to be seen.

  • This is one of things that we will get from GetFlix: "Get a free, optional VPN & SmartVPN account to encrypt all your traffic with 256Bit SSL encryption"

If I bought GetFlix, is there any reason to also buy PureVPN then? Thanks.

EDIT: And Netflix doesn't show up in the channel list? http://www.getflix.com.au/channels/overview

    • Nope. I use GetFlix for my VPN stuff. It works great :)

      • Ok Thanks for your info.

I still need someone to help on how to enter the promo code (my comment below). It doesn't seem that I can put the code anywhere.

Call me stupid, but What does this offer actually do - its like an internet address hijacker or something yeh?

Would be nice to have description in OP

    • +2

Well if you have no idea what they are, then you probably don't need it :)

  • PureVPN is a 5 year license. I'm not quite sure how they can legally call 5 Years a lifetime, but there you go. Still a good price either way, paid this price for a 2 year license.

    • +1

      As per purchase receipt..

Your initial subscription term is for 5 years. At the conclusion of your 5-year term, please contact [email protected] to renew for an additional 5 years
      completely free-of-charge!

of course if the stackcommrce website closes in that period. then its only 5 years.

No issues with getflix. Just pick a different server. US has 6 servers ;)

    • Doesn't work for everyone. I have tried every single server and my Netflix is still blocked.

  • How do I enter the promo code? Thanks.

    • Log onto your getflix-manage-subsription-promo code.
if i remember from last time you also had to open a new account

      • SAVE10 promo code is not valid on Stacksocial checkout. Do I then apply the same code on Getflix manage subscription to get the $10 discount?

        • +1

No, the code is for stacksocial who then send you the code. Just tried purchase and discounts didn't work so maybe it's fin

  • Can vouch for Getflix, been using them for over 6 months now. No issues with the streaming services I use (Hulu & Dramafever). The VPN is also a great added bonus.

  • I've been using Getflix for a while, over a year now, I reckon. I've had no issues with Netflix blocking at all. Couldn't be happier.

  • Been using getflix for a few years now…… Besides the recent Netflix issue… I've never had one issue or blip.

  • It's expired already.
